What part of "in ALL ways" don't you understand?
---Jack on 1/7/08

In EVERY way!

he was tested with power. he could have ruled over every kingdom in the world.

Okebaram , I am saying the same thing too.
---Nana on 11/22/06

But nana, the mind is not the spirit. The mind is the soul, and it does get tempted and can sin. I'm simply trying to say that Jesus was tempted in every way we are tempted not in part of the ways. He didn't have any preferencial treatment; he simply did a better job than most of us do. Seems like that's what you are trying to say too.

An unbriddled mind also generates its own temptations
that end in physical or mental sin. I also would like
to hear about the spiritual temptation.
About the power of the Holy Ghost keeping us from

See Luke 22:32. Jesus words "that thy faith
fail not" tell us clearly by what means temptation
and its consumation (Sin) get warded off. That
verse is a gemstone for understanding and core

Can someone define what it means to be tempted in body and what it means to be tempted in spirit? Temptation is temptation and all temptation is of the flesh (body) The urge to sin is pleasing to the body, and judged by the mind. There is no need to begin to explain why Jesus did not sin other than that he CHOSE not to sin, just like you and I can but didn't in the past. Guess what? One can decide not to sin anymore, and will be able to do this by the power of the Holy Ghost (not on his/her own).

Speaking to his disciples Jesus said:
Luke 22:28: "Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations."
Luke 22:31: And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you,
that he may sift you as wheat:
Luke 22:32: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted,
strengthen thy brethren."

Jim, may you always keep that very same joy you express. God bless.

mima, your answer was brilliant and concise, thank you for sharing that blessed message.

Nana,MiMa is correct.JESUS CHRIST is GOD in the flesh.HE is all man and GOD . JESUS is LORD !!
---JIM on 11/21/06

Jesus was full man not part man. All he accomplished was done with 100% human effort. He was tempted in both Body and Spirit.

He was tempted to change a rock into bread, satan was trying to get Jesus to rely on Himself not God, to say I can do it myself, I don't need any help. When satan tried to get Jesus to jump off the temple he was tempting Jesus to test whatever you want, God will help you out. The last one was to worship satan, get your eyes off God and on me. We are tempted in these ways every day, satan is always trying to tell us we can do things our own way, we don't need God, and that he can give us the world.

Jesus was tempted in all ways. Jesus was both man and God, now since God can not be tempted it is obvious that the man part of Jesus was the part that was tempted. It was impossible for Jesus to sin but Satan did not understand it was impossible hence he tempted Jesus's fleshly human body, not his spirit which is the spirit of God.
