Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast."

"...faith, hope, LOVE..." (1 Corinthians 13:13)...which one is the GREATEST?
GOD IS LOVE. True Christianity is not a 'faith', it is a LOVE.
Do the "works of God" (John 6:28 and 29). Everyone on earth has salvation available to them (Luke 3:6), but only those with a peaceful and just Godly spirit/character will have the guarantee of salvation (2 Corinthians 1:22, 5:5, Ephesians 1:14) and have a more excellent devotion (1 Corinthians 12:31) so the conscience can also be purified (Hebrews 9:14).

Isaiah 64:6 (NKJV): "But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags..."
I think that sums up quite well what our good deeds are worth.
Faith justifies us before God, who is able to peer into the hearts of men. The fruit we produce allows others (who lack the ability to judge the heart) to verify our faith. (Matthew 12:33 says "...a tree is known by its fruit.")

I agree with todd1 about duanes post on 6/30.
I Love the Truth, Thank You!
I seen a post that says,
Grace= Faith= Good Works,
Good Job to you too, thats it in a nut shell!
---Duane_Dudley_Martin on 7/2/08|
Anything not of faith is sin....Will you do anything good in unbelief before God??
Anything not done in good faith is wrong.
Faith comes from love...
---duane on 7/2/08|
"Good works can only come FROM faith."
---duane on 6/28/08
Ephesians 6:8: "Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free." No mention of faith there.Matthew 7:11 "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" Not there either. Good Samaritan? A people of whom it was said that they worship what they know not, what faith could we ascribe to the Good Samaritan then? Good works are then more so the result of Love than of faith.
---Nana on 7/2/08|
Amen, I agree with duane's 6/30 post. True faith produces good works. They go hand in hand.
---Todd1 on 7/1/08|
duane_Change of Heart?
Or is someone playing games with your name?
---Duane_Dudley_Martin on 6/30/08|
The statement..Faith without works is dead, is correct because there is no faith if there are no good works. If you HAVE faith, you WILL have good works. Living faith is all you need. Faith and works Cannot be separated, as faith produces the good works. Anything not of faith is sin. This is the same as "perfect love PRODUCES perfect obedience" Love and obedience cannot be separated. If you love me you Will obey me.
---duane on 6/30/08|
"Faith without works is dead. And works without faith is just as DEAD". "What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, "go in peace, and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead being by itself. But someone may well say, "you have faith and I have works, show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works. James 2:14-18] Now this: You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder [James 2:19].
---catherine on 6/29/08|
We need faith and nothing..Good works can only come FROM faith. Good Works are the result of faith.
Good works dont show faith BUT lack of good works show lack of faith.
---duane on 6/28/08|
All::The words of the Lord are there, but the practice by the participants are NOT.The truth will set you Free.
---Emcee on 6/26/08|
Absolutely! faith and good works will get you to heaven. "Those who does my Father's will". There is another scripture, I won't use it this time.
---catherine on 6/26/08|
Works prove or show NOTHING, ABSOLUTLY NOTHING. How can we know the intent of the heart by a persons works. Some people do good works to get more. Is that showing faith? God knows our faith before we work.
Works prove nothing before God
---duane on 6/26/08|
Good works follow faith, even wanting to do something for God and failing is good works that prove faith.
It goes to show you, anything worth doing is worth doing even poorly.
---Pharisee on 6/25/08|
By faith. The bible says that we are saved by grace through faith.(Ephesians 2:8-9) The free gift of righteousness doesn't depend on our works, just our faith. Now working out or cultivating our salvation is part of our daily lives.(Philippians 2:12)
---Rickey on 8/13/07|
Being born-again naturally produces good works. However, works do not get anybody into Heaven. It is by faith in Jesus' sacrifice of Himself on the Cross for sin that gets a person into Heaven.
---Helen_5378 on 1/1/07|
2/... Also, faith in God is not enough. Many people say they believe in God but they do not know Him. You can only know God by believing in His Son Jesus Christ and His death on the Cross for sin.
---Helen_5378 on 1/1/07|
We go to heaven if we are righteous.
Abraham was declared righteous because of his faith. It is by faith in Jesus Christ that we are declared righteous and are saved.
"You can get to heaven on faith, but your good works will determine if you get to stay." Wrong. Your works reveal if you really have faith. Faith both saves you and keeps you. Works flow out of faith. If we have time, we will increase in Christ-likeness (works).
---Sheryl on 12/31/06|
You can get to heaven on faith, but your good works will determine if you get to stay. If you gave Jesus lip service you will find yourself on the wrong side. If you did the will of God, I'll save a place for you next to mine.

How to be saved
Acts 2:36-38 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
---Exzucuh on 12/28/06|
Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to God and Heaven. You cannot get there by works. ONLY by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart as Lord & Savior will you get to Heaven.
---Leslie on 12/27/06|
When we evidence faith in Gods salvation plan, that allows the Holy Spirit to go to work on the inside of us, in our spirit. This always results in good works in the natural. Our good works is us responding to the work being done in us. GLORY TO GOD!!!
---craige on 12/15/06|
Faith is empty without Works, and works are empty without faith. they are both needed.
---Jared on 12/13/06|
The only way to Heaven is by faith in Jesus' sacrifice of Himself on the Cross for sin. Galatians 3:11 says "the just shall live by faith". Jesus Christ has paid our sin debt in full on the Cross. Jesus is "the way, the truth and the life and nobody goes to the Father but by Him" (John 14:6).
---Helen_5378 on 12/13/06|
ryan you are as sarcastic as me and right! We should also remember Paul's writtings too. He said should we go on sinning so grace will abound? By no means... our actions and our faith should tell the same story.
---Jared on 12/12/06|
Good works is just a fruit of our faith by God's saving grace. As the Bible says in Eph 2:8-9,"BY grace you have been save through FAITH and not of yourself,it is the gift of God,NOT of WORKS lest any man should boast". It clearly tells us that Faith is not just something we believe,it is something we do that Jesus bestowed through His grace. You cannot do GOOD WORKS unless given by God the grace to do it. So, you can be saved through faith alone by God's grace and good works will just follow.
---Tessa_Mae on 12/12/06|
Faith without works is dead. Someone in the bible said that. Oh! Wait! I think it was James. Faith is not enough faith must be accompanied with works, the works of love, mercy, kindness, gentleness, joy, patience, self-controll, goodness & peace. You do not prove your faith with works, faith is accompanied by works they are kindred to each other.
---Ryan on 12/12/06|
The reality of our salvation is brought about solely by faith in the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Anything you read about "works" is saying that our faith is evidenced by our works, where there is genuine faith, there will be good works.
---tommy3007 on 12/12/06|
We are saved by Gods grace through Faith alone in Jesus Christ.
