People who were in the occult and become a Christian can become demonicly attacked. Is this what you are referring to?
---Matthew on 2/22/08

Do people with ties to witchcraft get persecuted in the holy spirit or in some kind of satanic spirit? I guess either could happen, but the latter is probably more likely.

It does not matter what you think blasphemy is
Jesus said it was saying that God working through someone is the devil, because your talking about the Holy Spirit. So be careful what you call the devil you are accountable for every word you speak.

The unpardonable sin, blaspheming the Holy Spirit...
---Rachel on 1/2/07

I was taught that blaspheme against the Holy Spirit is to deny that He exists and is working in the world today. I believe that being persecuted in the spirit is the war that continuously goes on in the spirit realm between Christians and spiritual powers of Satan.
---betty8468 on 12/28/06

No, Tonne, that would be witchcraft or sorcery.
Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is rejection and denial of the authentic work and person of the Holy Spirit. It's attributing the work of Jesus done through the power of the Holy Spirit to Satan. It is the ultimate rejection of Jesus Christ without repentance for your sin of unbelief.
---Rachel on 12/27/06

Those who commit the unpardonable sin are repeatedly persistent in their rejection of Christ. No remorse, no repentance, and no desire to understand the truth of Jesus' words.

Matt 12:31, Mark 3:29, Luke 12:10, Mark 3:22,

Matt 12:24, Isa 61:1, Luke 4:16-21, Luke 7:18-22, Luke 4:18, 2 Cor 7:10,

John 6:37, Rom 10:9, 1 John 1:9

Right blaspheming the spirit is an unpardonable sin. Wouldn't that be the same thing as bewitching the hearers of God?
The hearers of God is the Holy Spirit.
---tonne on 12/27/06

Tonne .. Your definition seems to mean that for the sake of righteousness (which I imagine means because of one's own righteeaousness, or regard for or search for righteousness) ... Satan persecutes us.
I find it difficult to believe that being persecuted by Satan because of this, is sinful.

Hi. "Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft"
Dvination and witchcraft same word in Heb.
"Rebellion" refers- contentious disobedience.
Divination in Greek is from Puthon where we derive python in English. Mythologically puthon was the pythian serpent/dragon at Pytho. It is a deceitful craft that misleads. People like it anyway. "..their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich." Lots of false fronts.

Tonne - ("It is much worse than blaspheming the spirit and there is no forgiveness for it".) -- Just where did you get that from? That is an outright lie. The only sin that will not be forgiven is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
---Helen_5378 on 12/27/06

It states in the Bible in Isaiah. They vexed his holy spirit and he fought against them. Persecuted in the Holy Spirit is an unpardonable sin.
---tonne on 12/27/06

Persecuted in the spirit means being misled, afflicted, persecuted by Satan and his collegues for rightousness' sake. It is much worse than blaspheming the spirit and there is no forgiveness for it. Thou shall not cast pearls before swine. Do not take something holy and sacrifice it to Satan.

The reason that I was asking is because I had a dream, and it was interpreted. When it was interpreted, I was told that the Lord wanted me to know that someone that I know now/or would know in the future, seemed blessed on the outside, and put up false fonts, but the woman was being persecuted in the spirit for having some form of witchcraft ties. I was wondering what exactly did it mean.
---Chris on 12/25/06

chris, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spirits and principalities, etc., When we are persecuted, it's coming from a spirit or principality. I know alot of folks here will disagree with me on this, but we're not wrestling against flesh and blood (people), we're wrestling against spirits and principalities. Witchcraft is as the spirit of divination, it is an abomination to God.
