Gods word tells me I have the truth! Historicaly, His word proves itself with every archialogical discovery that reveals people, places, & things the nay-sayers try to say didn't happen.
No-one else in the course of history has fulfilled prophecy like Jesus. And in light of current End Times prophecy being revealed, almost daily, it continues. Matt5:18 Jesus say's that not the smallest parts of the Law (jot & tittle) will disappear.
When Jesus went to rebuke or correct someone, He always said, "As it is written". Not "as it should have been written" Jesus proved the word as written.

I know I have the truth because I only go with Jesus and the Bible. Jesus said He is the TRUTH. The Bible says it is the TRUTH. So if you ONLY go with Jesus and the Bible, NOT opinion, you have the TRUTH, and will NOT be decieved.

This is not an requirement when the living God lives in you. Unbelievers are the world's best in this....They are going to tell me, that's not Bible, Jesus. So, stick to what you say", saith the Lord thy God.....

"Pilate says to him, What is truth? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice. I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no human comes to The Father, except by me."Jn.18:38,37+ 14:6.

How do you know that you have the truth?

SIMPLE: God's people Keep the LAW and the TESTIMONY. Others Reject one or the other, some both.

1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him
Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Isaiah 8:16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.

YES I know The One & Only Saving Truth.
The One God Jesus name Church of The Living God born on the day of Pentecost according to Mark 16 v 16, Acts 2 v's 27 - 41 which Fulfills Matt.28 v's 19 - 20 to the Jewish people First delivered to them by Apostle Peter, then it came to some of us gentiles even now today. Matt.7 v 14, Luke 12 v 32.

You have the truth when it agrees with the straight testimony of Jesus given to us by His eyewitnesses ONLY (John 14:26)
---Dr._Rich on 2/20/08

When someone is under the influence of the Person of the Holy Spirit we are allowed to give opinions. I feel mine are always based on scrioture. We don't always have the time to say, well Jesus, I believe I don't believe you so I'll go and check it out in the Bible. I did that one time and God said, "I don't have to give you anymore words". Gee whizz. Shook me up.

Frances::The truth of the bone of contention lies In a simple truth which First you Must accept.Matt.16:17-19. The rest relevant things Fall into Place. The acceptance of this truth rules out denominations & people who apostated.Any other arguement is man interpreted not what God wants & says.Frances you are a nice Lady ANSWER the question. Why did you apostacize.?
---Emcee on 2/19/08

Emcee, you should extend your Bible reading to beyond one section of one Chapter of Matthew. There is two thirds that might enlighten you (Old Testament) and the rest of the New Testament.
---frances on 2/19/08

The truth is I did write this post, but last year. By this statement I bear truth to the fact that the date has been changed not by me,but the Truth is as solid as the rock as God meant it to be on PeterMat16:17-19
---Emcee on 2/19/08

Donna::The truth is in the scriptures & not the person duplicating It as is Mat16:17-19.Its up to the receiver who so desires to accept That Truth or Decline as is seen on this Forum. Some People do not believe it as truth & have formed their own decisions Viz those who love the Lord on THEIR TERMS not HIS way which is FOLLOW ME

Feeling good saying what we think... Psalms 12 promises preservation of God's truth. Hebrews 6 promises God will not change. He swore that with an oath, and He can not lie. Therefore, nestled in the pages of His Word harbors answers to life's problems and problem makers. It's sad when delivering God's counsel comes to blows. Hardware stores sell rat poisening containing 97% wholesome food, however; this wholesomeness is delivered in a 3% poisen base. Delivery of truth may mean more than many think.

You spoke the truth, and he wanted to give you the "light", by knocking you out for doing do.
---lynet on 1/12/07

I know, I believe, I have the Truth; just as each of you do. Denominations can't agree on what their doctrinal Truths are. I wish we could all come into unity concerning Bible doctrine, but I don't think that is going to happen until we are with Christ. We have an enemy that tries to confuse, and add or take away from the Truth. We must rejoice in what we can agree on and ask God for more revelation of His Word. We need the Truth hidden deep in our hearts, and not just head knowledge.
---Debbie on 1/12/07

lynet, you judge weather I have the light or not? Tsk...tsk...tsk...

Ryan, what did you say to this Christian that he had to jump the table to get to you? What did you discus with him? You know, you can discus anything with us, and we will not go looking for you. Just ask good questions, not those that Transgression is not sin. That is so silly, and not even worth answering, but good questions Ryan, so that we can read Scripture and get back to you. Lately you are asking some very peculiar questions.
---lisa on 1/11/07

Ryan, I am sorry for the way another Christian brother treated you at the table. Have you come to yet?
---Elder on 1/11/07

Ryan on 1/10/07: Quick question sir.

Is setting the precedent for how people treat us just as bad as how they treat us?

Sometime we set ourselves us for how we are treated. The other person is out of order for not showing self controlled, but we can be just as out of order for causing it.

I try and ask myself, am I contributing to causing my brother or sister to act this way? Stumbling block.

The strong ought to base the infirmities of the weak, not to please ourselves.
---TDG on 1/11/07

Donna, Only God knows a person's heart. Are you sure you are not judging your friend by thinking that she does not know the truth. Remember, how you judge, you will be judged. I, too, thought some friends were not following truth but found out I was wrong. God has committed all judgment to the Son. No one else has the right.

I am use to persecution especially from self-procaliming Christians. In fact, just last night one such self-proclaiming Christian threatend to fly across the table and knock me out at our Tuesday night bible study. But those who bring truth are usually persecuted look what Israel did to the prophets.
---Ryan on 1/10/07

Donna, you are doing great in asking about faith because of the love you have for her and you wish for her to be on the right track. It is commandable of you for it shows you care for her soul. Ryan is out of order in the way he states things sometimes, so please don't take it personal. If I took everyone personal it would sure stop me from teaching God's word and then my work for Christ would be defeated. Keep the good work you are doing for your friend. It also will help you in so many ways.
---lisa on 1/10/07

Everyone seems to be attacking Donna9759 as if you cannot relate. I kind of get the impression Donna9759 has done all everyone has said and then some.

Does this mean you don't have those you want to be free from sin and try as you may, it doesn't seem like you're getting anywhere?

The paradox about seeking freedom for others is that you feel so inadequate. The inadequacy often leads to a greater, not lesser dependence upon God and others to share the burden.
---TDG on 1/10/07

Ryan, you seem to attack my answers alot. This is the 4th blog I've read where you are pointing out my weakness of asking alot of questions. I think Jesus would be smiling at me if I said, "Jesus, wait, can you tell me if I'm doing the right thing" OR "Jesus, how do I tell someone the truth in love?" See, God loves someone who keeps the lines of communication open and asks alot of questions.

**My motive for asking this question is that I have a very close friend...who I know are in serious error....**

This conversation with your friend will soon boil down to your "facts" versus her "facts." She KNOWS she has the truth as much as you KNOW you have it.

Not very productive, is it?

All you can do is explain WHY you believe as you do, and leave the rest to God.
---Jack on 1/10/07

Part 2:

But what you seem to be saying, Donna, is "I know when someone is walking in the truth when that person agrees 100% with ME."
---Jack on 1/10/07

Donna, Faith includes believing "IN" God. Yet that kind of faith is not particularly praiseworthy. James tells us: You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe and tremble!" To believe in the existence of God merely qualifies us to be demons. It is one thing to believe "IN" God; it is another to believe God. To believe God is to trust Him for our very life, and that is the essence of the Christian faith.
---lisa on 1/10/07

2. Each one of us should examine our own hearts to see if we have true faith in Christ. We must see whether or not we have any genuine "Love" for the biblical Christ. For we know such love for Him would be impossible without regeneration. Second, we must examine the fruit of our faith. We do not need perfect fruit, as some would suggest, to have assurance, but there must be some evidence of the fruit of obedience for our profession of faith to be credible.
---lisa on 1/10/07

3. If no fruit is present, then no faith is present. Where saving faith is found, fruit of that faith is also found. And I have to also add that we also seek our assurance from the Word of God through which the Holy Spirit bears witness to our spirit that we are His Children. This friend of yours seems to fall short of that saving faith. We can judge the fruits, but only God knows if she truely has a love for Christ.
---lisa on 1/10/07

Donna9759 #1: I stand with u in prayer. I think I see your heart and motive. It hurts when your care is seen as something else. I have friends, neighbors, co-workers... that are really great people, but not saved. Some have treated me better the some in the church. I somewhat understand why, the Devil seeks to make the church ineffective by having words, but little deeds.

Think the answer to your request is prayer to God for opportunity and that God will take away the blindness.
---TDG on 1/10/07

Donna9759 #2:2Cr 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

None of us have an absolute answer, except pray to God.

Keep in mind, God will not overrule a person's choice. God controls circumstances of life so everyone can find Christ.

Just said a short prayer, so I wouldn't forget.

Stop activity. You've listened to tapes, read books. Quiet your spirit.

Drop...people pleasing. The world loves everyone where they're at. We all love our families, friends. Remember, the 'prophet' is not accepted in his own town, family. They repel, and rebel against the Christian.

Roll. Allow the Holy Spirit to bring conviction, repentance, salvation.

Prayer and fasting are where it's at. Hoping will not get the job done.

Remember those cross country ski machines that every one had to have. The most expensive clothes hangers ever made. You can't buy one today. You know why?

Because they were hard work and immediately sweat poured down your face.

Fasting and prayer are like that. It's more work than people want to put in to it. The payoffs are tremendous, but you have to go to the prayer closet.

robrt, you brought up a very good point. I do have the truth, I'm asking because I want to know how others who THINK they have the truth but don't. In other words, how do I witness to someone who is living in sin, committing sin daily, calling themselves a Christian. How do I tell them they are not walking in truth? See my point? I can't seem to do it. I just love her where she's at hoping someday she'll come around to God.

Why not reveal motivation for these questions before we answer. That would save us alot of guesswork.

With 20 years under your belt, I do wonder why the basics are stumping you. When you're called upon to give an immediate answer to friends, relatives and coworkers; why all the need for an opinion poll. It should be there, written in your heart.

The Holy Spirit can give us what we need to say, if we are being led of the Spirit. The right word, for the right person, at the right time.

There is a book/study series called Truth:Antidote for Error. There is a lot of truth in that title alone. We are responsible to tell/teach truth. Light dispells darkness. When we state truth, is the job of the Holy Spirit to bring conviction/understanding/realization of error.

Every drowning man knows when he has been rescued, and every saved person knows that they are saved. It is called Blessed Assurance. We know that we are saved because, 1- we have repented and are saved from sin, and are converted into the righteousness of Christ, and we keep his commandments. (Matthew 7:17-20; II Corinthians 5:17; I John 3:6-24). 2- Jesus himself promises us. (John 10:3-5; 14:2-4). 3- We have the mark of God, and are persecuted by the lost. (Ezekiel 9:4-6; Matthew 5:10-12; John 15:18-21).
