Trey~ yes that makes sense. I sort of think as the Lord as my first husband, and my earthly husband as my 2nd husband.
---Anne on 11/24/08|
Yes, it is Possible. Anything with God is Possible.
Proverbs 31 plainly tells a Christian Woman how she should be. How she should conduct herself in public, with her children, her relatives, her Husband(if she has one in these days and times).
No it is not too much to expect.
And if there were more men in the Body of Christ who were like John, and loved their wives as they loved themselves, and they were REAL men, I am sure that many Christian women would live up to this.
God Bless you John. I pray that God blesses the Body of Christ with more men like You.

I know several women of that stature. My wife, for one, has joyfully done all those things for 35 years now and she has 3 Godly married children with families of their own and they do call her blessed and so do I.
A prov.31 woman is a woman of excellence. As it says in the BIble, they are hard (not impossible) to find.

Could I say that if men would love their wives like Christ loved the church (Eph. 5:25). I believe it would be pretty easy for the wives to submit themselves to their husbands.
My sisters in Christ, does that make sense to you?
Lord bless you all,

One thing that Mary Pride said in her book THE WAY HOME: BEYOND FEMINISM AND BACK TO REALITY about Proverbs 31 is that there is not a single activity in it the "virtuous woman" can do without leaving the family property.
I don't know if "homeworking" (and homeschooling) is always practical in every family, but I understand what she was getting at.

I agree Eleonor; I am soooooooo thankful Jesus did not make women feel like so many "Christian" men do--the ones who just love the "usurping" passages and all! If those men would love instead of rule, they'd win women over!

Is it possible for a man to be the servant leader the bible talks about. Is it possible to be perfect? Where exactly is this post going?
---Eleanor on 2/21/07|
Hi Emcee: I don't understand your post. God made male and female to marry and to become One.
---Pat on 2/3/07|
Pat:: The ONE that is spoken of is in one flesh. Their Offspring.Having both parents make up.Just like The HS & mary one flesh Jesus Incarnate GOD & MAN.IMHO.
---Emcee on 2/2/07|
Hi Pat; loved your answer by the way :)
---Mary on 2/2/07|
..."the fact that I feel God values me as much as a man does NOT make me less of a Christian..."
This is true. God made Eve (females) for Adam (males) so they could marry and become "ONE". If one of them is better than the other one, then how can they be "ONE" ??

Respectfully: If you READ Your Post You will find that you reacted to a statement I made in General, NO Names, NO Person in particular therefore politely I would ask you to also be polite to address me without personally attacking me for no apparent Reason At All, I'll answer you with any query about anything what I've written, Absolutely No NEED to openly attack me and then rebuke me for defending myself. First clean out your own house then your welcome to come and clean mine! My ''attitude'' that is!

A women of excellence is defined in Strong's Concordance as a force, an army, wealth, virtue, valor, and strength, military fortification - thus she is and the church should be strong and mighty as a soldier.
---Leslie on 2/1/07|
Um, excuse me Carla, but please be more polite in your next statement to me--I would appreciate that very much; thank you. I serve God first and foremost; the fact that I feel God values me as much as a man does NOT make me less of a Christian than you.

Romans 8.There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walketh not after the FLESH but after the Spirit. Vs 36As it is written for thy sake we are killed all day long,we are accounted as sheep to the slaughter.Vs 37 Nay in all these things we are more than conqerors....vs 38 For I am persuaded that neither.....Nor POWERS... shall be able to spearate (ME) from the LOve of God, which is in Christ Jesus (My) Lord. Amen

I rebuke your statement in the name of Jesus If you are proud of being a Feminist I am even more proud of being a child of God and feminism has no place in Christ you were bought with one price which is to serve God not Worldly desires. God is not mocked he has no division when it comes to his children only isims /scisims and Feminism do that!
---Carla5754 on 1/22/07|
Frank. Thanks for that great revelation. Very good. I love it.
---john on 1/18/07|
Carla, you have such an attitude towards your sisters in Christ who consider ourselves more "feminist" than you; you are not any holier than we are, so please! Thank you!
---Mary on 1/18/07|
While the Proverbs 31 woman is admirable today I think the church should strive to be the Proverbs 31 woman since she is the bride of Christ and all of the references to her husband in that given Proverb are Christ in a type and shadow. As a matter of fact, without getting ignorant, the church men should try to be a Proverbs 31 woman too since Jesus said those who know the will of God and do it are his mother, sister and brother, or female attributes of his bride.
---Frank on 1/18/07|
I see not many ( if any) of the feminist Group called to preach to Men on this blogg I wonder why?
Maybe too busy preaching to the Male Leadership!
---Carla5754 on 1/17/07|
I believe a Proverbs 31 woman is "created" from the Love of a Proverbs 31 man. Like a seed that blooms into a flower and is "nutured" into something very beautiful. Praying together, sharing together, having fun together, reading God's word together...being "in love together".
---Pat on 1/17/07|
Who can find a virtuous woman? The question was first asked thousands of years ago and I continue to ask it today. Is it too much to expect of a woman today? More and more yes. The present generation has been raised on a steady diet of feminism, the destructive attitudes of which are daily seen on these blogs even from "christian" women. Fearing the Lord, Honorable, Trustworthy, Respectful, Submissive. It sounds so simple yet so few live it. Yes, perhaps it is too much to ask today.
---ralph7477 on 1/17/07|
I think John that your response makes you a Proverbs 31 man. Very Cool.
---grace3869 on 1/16/07|
A Proverbs 31 Woman is: virtuous, trustworthy, does good, productive, provides for family, strong, enduring, giving, helping, full of honor, rejoicing, wise, kind, blessed, excellant, fears God, gracious, edifies, submissive (respectful), gentle, quiet in spirit, reverent, temperate, faithful, not slanderous, inner beauty, don't dress provocativly.
---Leslie on 1/16/07|
A Proverbs 31 woman is what I strive to be.
I work hard to do my best in all that I do. I'm a God fearing, loving woman. I have many wonderful attributes, but I don't believe I've arrived at the Proverbs woman level:)
