God Let Bush Be President

Does this scripture in Daniel2:21 "And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:" mean that God has let Mr. Bush be president at this time?

I would agree with that Scripture in Daniel to mean that. Also, the people did have something to do with it. They voted him in 2 times. So even the people got what they wanted.

"Would you ever consider and take seriously a real lasting POLYGAMOUS family lifestyle as your future too? We have been married for 40 years, and ISO a special young lady, to be a sister/wife, a second wife to me! Do you want to have children too?" "Carl"

Are you the same Carl who wants a second wife?

What nonsense! God does NOT force His will over anyone! God gave us "choice". That is the same reason why the Bible is NOT the Word of God (it does contain the Word of God), because God does not, and will not, force one to choose. He wants us to chose life, not death. Israel chose death. The people who chose what went into the New Testament chose Paul's writings that were NOT the Word of God, nor were they inspired by God.

Rush Limbaugh:

"I will agree to pull our troops out of Iraq if you Democrats will agree to my conditions after the defeat... When al-Qa'ida slaughters Iraqis after we pull out and we see the pictures of this on TV, every TV image must show a split screen. On one side of the screen, the bloody slaughter scenes, on the other side of the screen, pictures of smiling Harry Reid, smiling Chuck Schumer, smiling Carl Levin congratulating each other with big laughs ..."

Yes.>>>Scripture, Daniel praised God after receiving a meaning through a vision of a dream. And this is what He said. "Our God, your name will be praised forever and forever you are all-powerful. You are all-powerful and you know everything. You control human events- you give rulers their power and take it away. And you are the source of wisdom and knowledge". >>>God does control all human events, He has a hand in everything. Be so very glad that He does. All knowledge comes from God.

Ktiso, good observation.
God rains on the just and unjust.
God hates an unjust balance.

Under God's sovereignty, yes, He did put Saddam in power. But by the same token, He also removed him!
---Ktisophilos on 7/14/07

If the Daniel verse makes a universal statement about God's setting rulers in place, then yes, God made George Bush president, Elizabeth II queen, Benedict pope, and Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin and Pol Pot dictators. But perhaps the Daniel passage is not a universal statement....

Would Mike have not gone to war against Hitler? That's where his absurd pacifism leads. Even more importantly, Jesus taught "blessed are the peacemakers", NOT blessed are the pacifists. WW2 was largely due to pacifist-inspired disarmament in the face of Hitler's aggression. Churchill called WW2 "the unnecessary war" because it could have been so easily prevented on many occasions by a show of strength.
---Ktisophilos on 7/13/07

If the war on Iraq was "on the basis of lies", Hillary Clinton and John Edwards accepted the same "lies", with the same information as available to GWB. No, these Dems are just hypocritical political panderers.
---Ktisophilos on 7/13/07

Mike's Bible (NPV, New Pacifist Version) must say:

Lu 3:14 Soldiers also asked him [John the Baptist] , "And we, what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Do not extort money from anyone by threats or by false accusation, and be content with your wages," and above all, you must leave the army immediately.
---Ktisophilos on 7/13/07

The New Pacifist's Version must also include:

Acts 10:47-- Then Peter declared, "Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people [Cornelius, family and close friends], who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?"

The people around said in one voice, "Nay Peter, thou mayest not, because Cornelius is a centurion in the Italian regiment. Cornelius shalt first resign his commission since no Christian may partake in war."

How can a true Christian even begin to think or agree with anything Bush and his cabinet have executed! Christianity is incapable of declaring warfare against anyone. Nearly 1 million Iraqis have been slaughtered by the US occupation. The war was instigated on nothing but lies, another non-christian act!

Yes, God is soviergn.

Also, whether or not we agree with Bush, our Lord God LOVES him, and we are commanded to do the same,

One must wonder about professing Christians who vote for a party or presidential candidate that supports partial birth abortion and gay marriage. In particular, the right to life is foundational to all other "rights".

War Against the Weak is a good book about the widespread eugenics in America up till WW2. This led to forced sterilization of over 60,000 US citzens, and may have even inspired some Nazi programs. More likely is that both were inspired by Darwinian evolution, eugenics was invented by his cousin Francis Galton.

What has it to do with GWB though?

Did Our Father put Saddam Hussein in power too?

Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."
---AlwaysOn on 7/10/07

Our President is considered to be a King, as far as the Bible is concerned, even though he doesn't have the full power of the Kings of old. When the Bible was written, the term President did not exist.
---Roger on 7/10/07

As odd and unsuitable that you think he is, God put our President in office. The Bible is clear on this. He does it for His purpose. Pray often for our President for his protection and that God gives him wisdom.

GWB is not a king, though he might like to be.

Certainly, if no sparrow falls to the ground or even hair falls from our head without God knowing and marking it, and if as St. Paul says in Romans, the powers that be are ordained of God, it is at least in God's providence and permissive will that we have our present administration.

(I voted for the other guy.)

I tend to think yes, if for no other reason to get rid of that horrible Sadam who killed so many, had numerous palaces while his people lived in poverty, and had set fire to the oil wells.
As to the nuclear threat, they have found tanks & planes buried in the desert that were moved out, so they could have done that with nuclear stuff too.

Right on Bruce5656! May I add that Rom13:2-7 tells us that we are to be subjected to that authority and give them proper tribute and honour.
Ro 13:5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
Ro 13:6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
---Edmond on 1/28/07

I am not sure that P. BUSH prayed about everything. Most people don't, and that is the real problem. Or, people do not pray long enough or hard enough and that is a problem. I think that all of us are guilty in this war in iraq. I myself, thought, two shots it would be over. We should have waited.

President Bush prays. He prays before he makes any big decision. I think that is commendable. I feel sad for America for the division that is occurring now. This division is "in America", "against America", and against President Bush, the "elected" leader of America. The terrorist are using this division for their benefit.
---Pat on 1/27/07

The word of God says nothing can really happen unless allowed from above. The Lord controls everything. I would rather heed the word and pray for those in a position of authority than rail out against them as the word warns that they that do that are not wise and rebellious, not being subject to those in authority. Barrabbas was a leader of insurrection. If President Bush is ordained of God for President fine. If not, fine. Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."

This does not address whether or not powers that be are righteous or not. It was written in a time when the corrupt Roman govenment was in power.
