One good way is to check last years financial statement to see where all the money went. That will tell you if they are self centered or giving. Another one is to see if they can use your spiritual gifts and talents or if you are just going to be benched all your life.

A good bible teaching church that preaches the Word of God. A church that worships in Spirit and in Truth. Much prayer. Church that reaches out to the poor and needy. Evangelizes and disciples new believers. Encourages the flock to use their gifts in the church. The pastor(leaders)are saved and it shows. Love is expressed among the flock, leadership, visitors to the church. Shalom

One more thing I would like to add to my last post. Church picnics and church vacations are nice. Many churches do this, these days. Something to do with your church family. Brings everyone together in love.

A pastor who preaches the Bible and does not rely on the most popular book published lately for so-called Bible Study. A church which has strong praise and worship service which lifts up Jesus Christ. A church which is racially mixed and all are accepted regardless of financial status. A church which welcomes children and young people as they are the future of the church. A church which is seeing people saved, baptised, and filled with the Holy Spirit on a regular basis.

Once you find the church that is doctrinally sound, your spirit will let you know if this is the right church home. I've been to many sound churches, but my spirit was not in tune with the church. Keep looking you will know.

Our primary "requirement" is that our church be biblically based. There is also the matter of our spirits being in "tune" with the spirit of the church.

I would agree with many of the positive suggestions posted, and would only add a few negative ones: (1) Do not attend a church or denomination that believes in women pastors; (2) Do not attend a church that affirms the Bible's 'authority' or 'infallability' but not inerrancy; (3) Do not attend a church that affirms same-sex marriage or abotion; (4) Do not attend a church whose worship sounds a like a poor copy of your local FM Rock station.

1. No sin behind the pulpit. 2. Holy Ghost filled Preacher. 3. And a bunch of people whom will let God rule the church his way.

I trusted the leading of the Spirit of God and was led to a church that has a shepherd that preaches rightfully divided spiritually discerned messages that always minister to myself and all of my brethren whom I ask. He allows the Spirit of God to direct each service and everyone feels the presence and anointing of God. While one service may consist of two hours of singing another may consist of singing and a message. Prayer lines always minister perfectly.Trust God.

Ilook for a House of Worship(we`re the church) that praises God in everything, one that also speaks of the end times, not afraid to speak on the book of revelations(i`ve seen some who are).Everyone is brother and sisterin Christ and loves you like one.

Church order: A "man of one wife..." in the pulpit. God's word across the pulpit with pastor, elders, & deacons in one accord. The sanctuary held a place of reverence to God. The church body living in the light they know using their Bibles to learn and prove the word taught as true. A family in God's name requiring fellowship around His word. One faith, one hope, one Baptism and above all, One God.
