Truely Ask God In Prayer

How many of the blog members have truely ask God in prayer to show them if what they believe or want to do is right? Just recently I did this and true to his nature God showed me he did not want me to go on a certain mission trip.

Gene....I will pray that your disability comes through quickly or that the Lord heals you completely so you won't need disability. Praise the Lord! God's will be done.

The short answer is...yes, I have.
I also ask God to help me understand and conform to HIS wishes.

John, one time GOD did SPEAK TO ME IN THE WAY YOU MENTION. I knew something was different, I didn't understand it either, until later. God seems to prefer speaking to me through my intellet. At first it was audibly. Then later,as I grew, other ways. As far as tones, I'm talking about-- loud, soft, normal, ect.I am ashamed to admit, I got angry with God when He stopped talking audibly. He explained, I needed to learn dicernment. His voice,WOW.

If anyone out there is serious about God teaching you patience and a whole bunch of other stuff, ask Him to give you a kitten, and to help you to raise it. Now mind you, I didn't ask for one, He gave me one ,anyways.

Catherine. Thanks for the kind words. And I've noticed the same as you about God's tone of voice. What voice do you ostly hear Him speak in? Deep voice or hollow sounding or what? This may sound silly but I hear Him speak mostly in my own voice so it sound like I'm hearing me. But I'm not saying anything so I know it's Him. I think He can use whatever voice He wants.

John, I might have already thank you on the blog about God not being mute. That He can indeed talk. I will thank you again. He also uses different tones, if He wants to. especially if he needs to really get your attention.

Praise God for you to hear from the Lord. I think we should never forget that God hears and can speak. He's not made of wood or stone. I never go on a mission trip without getting a clear go from the Lord.
