I cant find the word test in the N.T. but the word trial is used several times. It means test so I don't think there is much difference. I'm curious to see the other answers.

are you familiar with what joseph went through?how about abraham,daniel,jonah,job,JESUS read the BIBLE ITS FULL OF TESTS AND TRIALS most which are probably much harder than anything we will EVER GO THROUGH.

Joesph: it certainly increased my faith in God. And I've gotten closer to him. Me and my husband have gotten closer. When I was going through this, I was so weak. I just wanted to give up. It is hard to keep the faith when all hell breaks lose. I stood firm on God's word and went out fighting in the name of the Lord, like David.

"Rebecca, I would say this was a test to increase your faith."

Yes Donna, just as what you went thru was a test, as an opportunity, to prove your faith & also a trial to expose to you, what was in you 'concerning that particular thing'. You could have succumb but did not, showing integrity towards the Father & loyalty to your significant other. A trial & test are one in the same, serving the same end. Spiritual growth & a better understanding of self.

I thought you wanted biblical examples. You compare yourself to Joseph and tell us the details of the boardroom. There are two sides to every story. From all that I've read, toning down the big come on might solve many of these dilemmas.

Rebecca, thank you for sharing (((Huggs))). I'm so sorry you had to go through that.
I would call that an attack of satan. I would say that satan used CPS to try and steal your joy by the accusations being made. "He prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." I would say this was a test to increase your faith. Would you agree? In other words, you stood your ground, stood on the word, and you got the victory. Thank you for sharing (((huggs))).

I guess I never know if I'm in a trial for while or I'm being tested. I feel stupid for not knowing. I had a boss who took me into a conference room to show me a video. I thought he was being truthful with me. Well he didn't want to show the video, but something else. Like Joseph, I ran out of that room VERY quickly. I passed the "test" because I did not succumb to his stupid idea and I hate him for doing that to me. Hard to forgive so easily when someone does something like that, you know?

CONT: And while this was going on, I was going through all the trouble over my kidney. CPS kept on about this, finally I told them, that if they didn't leave us alone I was getting a lawyer. I got a lawyer anyways, because the school started it. We went through hell on earth with CPS. A test of faith? I don't know, but I had to lean on God to get us through this. It has been a really long time since I've heard from CPS.

Donna; about a year ago. CPS came to my house, unexpected. They told me that they were to beleive that my husband was molesting my son. I knew better. I know the signs because I was molested as a child. They came to this conclusion because my son had trouble with his bowls. When he has to go, he has to go right then. He can't wait. His bowls hasn't fully developed yet. the accused him for a long time. He had to take a polygraph, and take our son to be checked out. They found nothing. CONT;

donna, we often are tested, but heres is an example of a real test.I think you know have a son and God tells you to sacrifice him, WHAT DO YOU DO? abraham believed God and it was counted unto him as faith.we may be tested but few are tested as abraham was.

A trial of faith is an adverse situation or circumstance that the Father allows to rise against His children to bring up & out of us all that is within us for our examination. He then empowers us to identify any error within us so that the error can be acknowledged, replaced by truth & dispelled. A test of faith is the same as above with this distinction, the adversity gives the mature in Christ an opportunity to demonstrate & prove their confidence in the Father through words & actions that correspond.

part2 I guess the trial is the circumstance or situation , and the test is the process of choosing either Gods way or the worlds way.
---tom2 on 2/11/07

I agree with john a trial is a test of your faith.scripture tells us that these trials are us being put into the fire to remove though the flesh may not like trials they are prosperous for our answer theres no difference a trial is a test and a test is a trial.
---tom2 on 2/10/07

A trial and a Test goes together. Trials are to strenghten you. If you pass the test involved in the trial you shouldn't have to take it over again. Mark 13-11 Ezek.21-13. =====They have, while they conduct themselves as become His people, But terrors, by reason of the sword,shall be upon, those that call themselves my people. Great men the biggest sinners.
