"What is the Judgment Seat of Christ?" In the words of Jesus "He that rejects Me and receives not My words, has one that judges him, the Word that I have spoken." "When does it occur?" "the same shall judge him in the last day (occurring immediately prior to His coming). When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him. To execute [that] judgment upon all". For He "will render to every man according to his deeds".

The Crown of Life and recompense of indignation and wrath are awarded that day. "Are there Old Testament scriptures that foreshadow this event?" Psa. 96:13>Eccl. 12:14 "The LORD: for He comes... to judge the world with righteousness, and the people with His truth. God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or whether evil." See also [Dan 7:9-14] To document that this is the Seat of Christ rather than the final judgment, note verse 12.

Refs. for prior posts Jh.12:8>mat.25:31>Rom.2:6-8>2 Tim.4:8
Mat.16:27 "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then shall He reward every man according to his works" In order for rewards to be given there must of a necessity first be a judgment to determine those rewards. Again,The judgment seat of Christ occurs immediately prior to the return of Jesus. Tara the overcomer will not be judged at the Great White Throne of Judgment.

I have never heard of the Judgement seat od christ. What is it?

Jesus is our advocate.
There is a story in the OT where Daniel is before two advocates, one makes Daniel look like Daniel is dressed in filthy rags and the other condemns the advocate that makes Daniel to look dirty.
I have heard that satan is an advocate that tries to prove your unworthiness and Jesus is the advocate of love. There is a judgement cause satan will always judge you but Jesus will always plead the declaration of His cross in your life

so christians do have to go through the great white throne judgement? Why are we judged if we are forgiven?
---tara on 2/22/07

Tara - I believe it is at a specific time after the Rapture of the saints in Christ. The different rewards are throughout the New Testament.

so is that where the christians get jewels for thier crowns according to the good things they have done. Do you think this happens when someone dies or at a specific time for everybody after the rapture?

The Judgment Seat of Christ is found in 2 Corinthians 5:10. It is where the works of Christians will be judged. It is different from the Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation which is for lost souls where their works will be judged.
