I tried to quite smoking a few times, once for a whole year. One day I was talking to the Lord. I said, "Father, your son Jesus said, that without Him, we can do nothing. I can't quite cigarettes, so Lord, take these ciragettes from me. On April 22 of this year, it will be six years, since cigarettes. I only give God the glory for this because I could not do it on my own. The Lord even took the desire for cigarettes from me, and it doesn't even bother me if I'm around someone that somkes. He's good.

Madison, are you better now? Did the doctor sort out your dizziness?
---m.p.a. on 3/26/07

I am praying for the requests made Sunday.

Please do not bicker or push an agenda on the Prayer Room blog. This should be a safe place to share prayer requests and lift each other before the Lord.

---Junia on 3/25/07

This a "Prayer Blog". Not a place to push YOUR view. Please pray for our friend Jim. The doctor told him he doesn't have much time left. Yes, he is saved, praise God!

I really believe that the Holy Spirit is the program director, And only the enemy tries to manipulate and control people and get in the way of something God wants to do. But you will not hinder anything nor control anything. Peter thought he could tell Jesus what to do, Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
---Exzucuh on 3/25/07

Don't worry Irene I'm praying for your unspoken request and as we both know the Spirit prays with groaning's that cannot be uttered. Some things are just between you and God and I know how to pray for that.

Let's pray for the Catholics that come to these blogs. I know some feel that thy get a beating from us non Catholics but, most of us never put a Catholic down, just try and show them the truth. This doesn't mean that we shouldn't love them. If they ever need prayer or advice, we should be there for them. I was there myself. I feel a love for them, even though they may put me down because of a misunderstanding, etc. We should always pray for them. Jesus said to love our enemies, this means everyone.

Irene: I am sorry for your loss. I lost a brother in October, and it was the most painful time in my life.

I spoke with my friend, Ruth. She is asking for prayer for wisdom in deciding which course of action to take with the cancer she has.
---Madison1101 on 3/12/07

You will be in my prayers Irene. My sincere condolances on your loss. Allow God to give you comfort sister. God bless you.
---NVBarbara on 3/12/07

Sorry Irene I don't pray for 'unspoken requests.' Can you elaborate? Unfortunately some people ask for things that do not line up with God's word. (I'm not accusing you!) But suppose an 'unspoken request' was for a 'boyfriend' to leave his wife so another woman could have him. If you would give a request that is valid, I would be happy to pray for you. God bless.

Dr. Soda Pop.....So, what causes calcium deposits in the shoulders?
---Susie on 3/5/07

Hi Rebecca!

Hopefully, you've found relief, but I suffered with severe UTI's on a fairly regular basis for about 20 years. I've tried many prescribed medications (some with ill side effects), over the counter relief as well as home remedies (cranberry juice, etc.). Then, a couple of years ago I did an herbal kidney and bladder cleanse and have not had a single UTI since. I highly recommend them now. I also drink distilled water, avoid sodas and processed sugars.
---AlwaysOn on 3/5/07

Sugar, artificial sweeteners, alcohol, carbonated soft drinks (pop), refined cereals, flour products, coffee, tobacco products all put significant pressure on your body to leech calcium from your bones to neutralize their acid-forming effects. As with eating too much protein, regular exposure to large amounts of these acid-forming substances can increase the amount of calcium that is excreted through your genitourinary system, which can increase your risk of developing large, calcium-based kidney stones.
---Soda_Pop on 3/5/07

When you eat excessive amounts of protein, especially animal protein, your body leeches calcium phosphate out of your bones to neutralize the acid-forming effect that protein has on your blood. After calcium is used for this purpose, it is eliminated from your body through your kidneys, and if enough of a compound called oxalate is available in your system, calcium combines with oxalate to form significant amounts of calcium oxalate, which is the most common type of troublesome kidneys stones.

I know what you're saying about soda. My husband tells me all the time. I am down to 2 cans a day of Mt. Dew. That is pretty good considering I would drink up to 6 cans a day. Barbara; I never had heart surgery but I have had two c-sections and a kidney removed so I know pressing a pillow against the wound when coughing does help alot. Lots of prayers.
---Rebecca_D on 3/5/07

Just wanted to tell you all how good God is. My friend's brother who died was severely mentally retarded from birth. His mother has cared for him all these years and is in poor health. The family has been worrying about what they could do with their brother after their mother passes. God knew what to do and took him home with HIM before the mother passed away.
---Susie on 3/5/07

Rebecca, soda pop leeches calcium out of your bones. If you are a mtn. dew or pop fan, drinking alot of pop might be prompting your body to make even more calcium to compensate. Stop the pop. If lemonade works, fine and dandy. Too much sugar is hard on the kidneys, too. Pop, sugar are hard on everything.
---Soda_Pop on 3/5/07

Needing more prayer, just another chance to jump up and thank Jesus for giving you another chance to approach HIS throne--in all humility!
My brother has developed an infection in his lungs and he's feeling pretty rough. He is still in pain from his heart surgery and will remain in the hospital for a while longer. He told me that they(nurses)gave him a soft pillow shaped like a heart, when he has a coughing spell he presses the pillow on his chest,it helps the pain. BIG HUGS, God bless you and TY!

Try the cranberry juice. I know someone that knew it was a big help for them.
---NV_Steve on 3/5/07

Cranberry juice is the worst you can drink. It has something in the juice that produces more stones. I am claiming a miracle. I am only 31 and I am too young to be have this many problems. If I can get used to the taste of homemaid lemonaid without puckering my lips, I'd be doing good. The citric acid breaks up the kidney stones that is made up of calcium. So I'm hoping this will work, and break them up so I can pass them. Thanks for the prayers.
---Rebecca_D on 3/4/07

We just had a young man get saved this evening. That is good news. He needs prayer to stand on God's word. For he is only 18-19 years old. I don't know about his parents if they go to church or not, but he testified saying that he was going through a battle and didn't know where to turn, until the Pastor gave an Alter call. Thank God that God is still God.
---Rebecca_D on 3/4/07

Oh dear Rebecca I'm so sorry to hear about this painful ailment that won't go away! I have a friend who has the same problem, he's been operated on, had stints put in, EVERYTHING but the stones keep coming back. I had a couple of stones years ago, but they didn't give me much of a problem. You're in our prayers Sis. May God see fit to heal whatever is causing this and touch HIS healing hand on you. GBY dearheart.

Susie your friend's family will be in our prayer as well.

Susie: I am praying for your friend,as I know the pain of losing a brother, as mine died in October.

I have a praise. My friend, Ruth, in Florida got her MRI results, and they show the breast cancer is localized to one spot. I will let you know when the surgery is.
---Madison1101 on 3/4/07

I went back to the ER this evening, and I found out that I have a severe UTI (urinary track infection) and mutiple kidney stones. What is so crazy, is that these stones can form within a matter of minutes. I asked the Doc if there was ANYTHING that I could eat/drink to stop these things from forming, he said no, the kind of stones I have doesn't matter what I eat or drink. Beer is good cause' it flushes out the kidney's but beer, like I'm going to drink that. I'll just stick with bottled water.
