Why Don't You Blog Vote

Just curious, why do so few people vote on whether any given blog is a 'Helpful Blog'? I'd like to see just how many people find the blogs useful.

"hello! It's fun to vote for my brothers & sisters on here! Why not? Smile! Always love of Jesus!"
Elena, I voted for you today. I hope that will encourage you.

---ELENA on 9/29/11

I think you can only vote for a person once. As far as I know, you can't give a vote for every time they give a helpful answer.
---john on 11/29/07

Yes Wayne, that's what I meant. This cold medicine causes typo's. Sorry. GB
---John on 3/7/07

John, you did mean that it was the people who wanted a king? Right? Throughout the Bible we see men wanting things other than what God wanted for them, and God lets them do it.
---Wayne87 on 3/7/07

It believe it was the people that did not want a King, and God let them have their way for awhile and it cost them. The part about Jesus is true though. He didn't take any nonsense when it came to untruths being practiced. He was a man of authority.
---John on 3/5/07

Sometimes you have to use a different name. When you laugh at your own jokes, you don't dare use your real name. I know some of my jokes are lame, but they make me laugh. Seeing silliness in print is fun. I can be serious, too.
---Buster on 3/5/07

Come on Steveng== Don't be so tough, these blogs are fun.
---catherine on 3/5/07

Why do you suppose God didn't want Israel to have it's own King? What would happen if Moses asked the Pharoah to let his people go instead of demanding it? What would happen if Jesus asked for votes about the gospel? I monitored this blog for two months before I started posting. Even if I told the absolute Biblical truth, no one would believe me. If Jesus himself posted on these blogs, he would have been booted off for heresy for it is written that he would not bring peace to these blogs, but a sword.
---Steveng on 3/4/07

This is neutral ground. It's not humor and it's not about a specific church.

Over the past year, I don't see anyone that has moved an inch from where they were a year ago. I like the older blogs, they were informative, the moderator stepped in to bring sense to nonsense. I've also noticed the thoughtful theologian bloggers have backed off.
---Raine on 3/4/07

Arguments have been described as cyclic, running around it circles. Those that have appointed themselves as God's spokesmen and very dominant have caused others to lay dormant. Helpful blogs are not those with a dominant gatekeeper saying the same thing month after month. NVBarb is correct, those discussions could be done privately through e-mail. I'm not interested in it, it burns you out.
---Raine on 3/4/07

Johnny 5, if this blog offends you, you should have been moved with all of your understanding and used it on another blog.

One of the reasons we're here and elaborating, is because of the secret potshots. I can spot bold letters, size used, writing styles and see them with several names. When someone is mad and switches immediately to Anonymous to carry on (thereby saving their goodie two shoe votes), it's apparent that voting for favorite alter ego personas is a many splendored thing.
---Bob on 3/4/07

If you people have an understanding of the TRUTH you would not consume your time conversing about votes. Find a blog, and make it useful. This is sad.
---Johnny_5 on 3/4/07

I always use my own name Alan. However often for whatever reason the 2 spaces I always use are removed from my name between the V and B and it ends up becoming 'another name!' There are a couple where a _ has even been added--not by me! Its cheeky, but I think the voting for bloggers is silly anyway! I prefer that the BLOGS get voted on.
I'm still wondering what happened to the 'most current blogs' that until a couple of days ago were at the bottom of the main page!
---NVBarbara on 3/3/07

Alan just for giggles I just looked at some of your blogs. 'AlanUKquent64534'
(which BTW is NOT in the profiles!) has 6 votes. 'Alan_of_UK' has 4. I think your name is written in some other forms as well.
What happened to your profile this time??
---NVBarbara on 3/3/07

I don't know why your vote feature allows you to vote more than once for yourself, mine never worked that way.
Another reason to eliminate the negative and accentuate the positive.
No more alter egos to save your good votes and another name to take pot shots and be onery with, or pretend you're holier than thou.
Only the Moderator knows. He see the Godly answers and then the "Get Real Lady, Get Real People" bust your chop personas.

If brains were taxed, some of us would be getting rebates.
To elaborate on the alter egos; Some that change their names for "Get Real Lady" potshots, your personality traits shine through. Once a 'narcissist', always a 'narcissist'. You can't help yourself. If you want to talk constantly about all your flashy exploits for the Lord, you will. If you think you're gorgeous and "all that", you can't contain it. The names may change, but the writing style always gives you away.
---Bob on 3/3/07

This is another reason I do not like voting.
I can spot alter egos, you can, too.
You can be extra special one minute, wearing your Jesus pin, saying all the right things, then turn into a wild thing the next.

Thanks for asking the question. I needed this. :)

nvB If you happen to give a different "First Name" when you send in blog, that will create a new identity for yourself, and thus people can vote for that new identity ... it won't reflect on the votes under your other name(s)
I never liked the personal voting ... it was clear you collected votes according to how often you posted, not according to quality (which is why one of me had a high vote!)
I'm glad no-one seems to vote now, except those who seem to keep up piling on their own votes
---alan_of_UK on 3/3/07

Hey Bobsled, I'll give Bo Diddly one vote for "Hey Bo Diddly." Its the only song I remember hearing by him.
It makes about as much sense as some of the blogs I've seen.

I like them. But I have to keep in mind to please God and not People. You will not be able to please God and people. Impossible for obvious reasons all found in the Bible. The world and God does not get alone.
---catherine on 3/3/07

I don't like voting for favorite people.
God doesn't play favorites, and neither should we.
---Raine on 3/2/07

I don't like the voting for people. This can get personel and can be unfair for obvious reasons. Blog voting is good. It can be a good indicator of what's applicable for most.
---Debbie on 3/2/07

I have NEVER liked the voting for people, its like a clique.

BTW Alan, Have you noticed that you are listed under 'AlanUK" and 'AlanUKquent' the votes are different on each!
There are 3 that I know of with my name! 'NVBarbara' 'NV Barbara' and NV_Barbara, all have a different count of votes!
I think I still prefer voting for a question, rather than a person.

Without comparison, it's difficult to see "blog" votes stacking up. Older format showed which blogs were topping out.
Without comparison, we don't pay attention.

Back to my response to other "Bob".

Because we see votes for each blogger, some are still competing for votes.
They mean bo-diddly to me. If we voted for the most caustic, nasty answers, that would be interesting. With that scenario, the lower your number, the better it would be.

Bobsled, Bo
---Bob on 3/1/07

I have chucked in a few votes!
---NV_Steve on 3/1/07

But that would be judging, wouldn't it?

My suggestion, wipe all the individual votes off. When I look back at the older blogs, without votes, the exchange was far more Christ-like.
The disciples argued among themselves, who would be first? We know what Jesus said.

So wipe off the votes, clean the slate, and start over. Each of us knows when we're doing wrong. Seeking approval from society is too much like the world for my taste.

nvB Not so ... You can vote for yourself more than once ... wait a week or so. & try again. I did this before they took aout the negative votes ... Voted plus one week then minus the next, and so on!!!

Its NOT the personal votes I'm speaking of Bo, its the votes on a particular BLOG I'm curious about. I see some ?s have 150 blogs and NO votes on the ?! (BTW, you can only vote for yourself ONE time, I tried!)
Oh yeah, you're the guy with the same name as my son..BOB! Its funny, he named his 1st car "The Bobsled." Maybe use BOB with a last initial. There are a few 'Barbara's' here, but I put my state initials before my name to keep from confusion, that works!
---NVBarbara on 3/1/07

To be honest, I forgot all about the voting thing! I will vote this blog helpful though.
---sue on 3/1/07

I'm the Bob who doesn't bust chops. There's about three Bobs now.

I don't care about votes. But I am road weary of name swapping. There are some big rats with big agendas on the ship.

Who will become President?

The candidate with the majority of the popular vote.

The candidate with the majority of the electoral vote.

The candidate who is selected by the U.S. House of Representatives

The candidate who wins a run-off election

Bobsled, Bob
I don't give a bo-diddly who becomes the President of the Blogs.

I don't know about the helpful blog. All I know is, that the helpful blogger vote is open for someone to vote for themselves. One blogger here has over 70 votes in such a short time. I may not be the brightest bulb in the pack, but this person is clearly not a helpful blogger, but more like a trouble maker. How can we get a true indication of who is a real helpful blogger, by this method? Who said that? I said that, you all have a nice day.
