Empty Tomb Of Jesus

The empty tomb of Jesus is evidence of the resurrection of Jesus. Can Christianity continue to exist if the actual tomb of Jesus was found? Would your faith be shaken by such a discovery?

2cor 11:4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Paul warns against false Jesus.

Man may find a grave marked Jesus. There were a lot of men named Jesus during that period in history. It might even be next to a grave of a woman named Mary.

It's like finding a grave marked John Smith here in America.

I will not listen to anything on TV and believe it, if I feel there may be a problem in that area of unbelief. I cannot aford it. Anyways, I would never believe anything that is so damnable that Satan and his people may come up with. I will shut the TV OFF. I know my redeemer lives. But never play around with ones faith. It is too precious.

Matt. 28:5-6, And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye:: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. Vs. 6, He is not here: for He is RISEN, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Even if the tomb of Jesus was found, it would be empty. Praise God!
---Cynthia on 9/29/07

Paul.......The actual tomb of Jesus was and is empty. He has RISEN.Praise the Lord!

Jhonny it is you who said you were beneath my station. You have been spoke to from a Scripture perspective but you won't listen or believe.
Take Jacks advice. You are ill equipped to deal here. You sound like a little child wanting attention when you should be in a corner reading the Bible.
---Elder on 3/14/07

** Jack do you have a point about the subject.**

1. I answered your saying that maybe the bones of Jesus were left behind in the grave clothes weith scripture from the very words of Jesus Hismelf.

2. I pointed out how when shown wrong you changed the subject.

3. You deflected at first, now you are attacking. You're out of your depth if you try to tangle with me.
---Jack on 3/13/07

If you watched the Discovery Channel Telecast and the Interviews after the program. The claims Fault on the basis of imperial evidence and statistics alone. The archaeologist who originally found them did not thing they were special. Just a movie maker who is trying to sell a video and publicizing it. You you don't even need to resort to Theology to repudiate it.

Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
To not believe any part of the Gospel is to not repent and there is no salvation to those who will not change their mind about what they believe and believe the word of Gods Son. John 15: if Jesus word abides in you your prayers will be answered. God said this is my Son believe ye him.

** Jack: "Are you just not familiar with the words of Jesus Christ in the Holy Gospels,..".
Luke 24: 47 "And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."**

And just how, jhonny, do you get by logic from your suggestion that the bones of Jesus were left in the grave clothes, to my giving scriptural evidence that they were not, to now talking about repentance?

Could you be deflecting, perchance?
---Jack on 3/12/07

Elder is this all you have to say on the subject. Nothing. Why not discuss the subject.
---jhonny on 3/12/07

What surprises me about this issue, from watching two interviews and one open session is how people appear to be resting so much of their faith in it. Catherine and
Edmund, I have appreciate your comments of faith.

Earl, glad to see ya... Hey, where's my old buddy? You know Elijah. Com'on you remember he was taken without experiencing death into the spiritual realm of God without to benefit of the warmth of the sun as you call it.
Wonder where his Chariot is parked also?
Keep on dreaming. You will remember those dreams when you wake up.
---Elder on 3/12/07

jhonny you say berate, when all I had for you is hope.
It's probably just something I said that shook your foundation.
I am one that just loves learning Scripture Truth. Do you know any?
---Elder on 3/12/07

Jack: "Are you just not familiar with the words of Jesus Christ in the Holy Gospels,..".
Luke 24: 47 "And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."

REPENTANCE: To perceive and understand sin, that one may have the adhorance necessary to change.

Luke 24:39, "Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have."

Jack, is it your postion that this scripture vr.39, is solid evidence there were no bones in the tomb.
---jhonny on 3/12/07

Elder, is it that painful learning something from someone below your station, that you feel the necessity to berate?
Your position on scripture is not as clear as your personality characterization. I will gladly discuss further.
---jhonny on 3/12/07

Bring about DNA evidence from the human part of Christs ancestory and compare it to the alleged bones of Christ. Exclude any possibility of any variables on the remains being a brother etc etc. And have unbiased scientific matches supporting this being The Christ and Ill be with the ones to say I was fooled.
---Simeon on 3/12/07

**"Scripture" does not remove all possiblility that there were no bones in the strips of swaddling.**

Are you just not familiar with the words of Jesus Christ in the Holy Gospels, jhonny?

Luke 24:39
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Will this do for Scripture "removing all possibility there were bones in the grave clothes"?

They knew that Jesus of Nazareth went about doing good. A good benefactor He was to that nation. Doing good to all. Hereby He showed that He was sent of God. He healed all oppressed of the Devil. He was sent to destroy the works of the Devil. The Jews put Him to death. God was with Him. He had a divine mission. And God sent Him.

God Anointed Him with the Holy Ghost and with power, Whence He was called Christ--The Messiah, the Anointed one. He was full of power both in preaching and working miracles. And He is still working, today. Nothing has changed. I do not care what people say, "I know my Redeemer lives."
---catherine on 3/12/07

No Paul, my faith would not be shaken because it is based on the word of God and it is a gift of God.
Would you trust human interpretation of biblical events over what the Bible says?
Unfortunately many have done that with creation and no longer hold that the Bible is truth. When we allow any part of God's word to be challenged by human science we place science over God and the victim is our faith.
---Edmond on 3/11/07

Jhonny I don't know if you are seeking or teaching. I hope it is seeking because the stuff you posted shows a lack of knowledge about the Bible.
1. Christ Himself showed that He resurrected in flesh and bones in Luke 24:36-39.
2. The Old Testament promise in Psm 34:20, He keepth all of His bones and not one of them is broken.
Ya know sometimes there are people here who can pick out the false from the true.

I was at a funeral the other day and I found the grave of John in Kansas...I'm sure it's the tomb of John the apostle...I bet he was really in the USA when he wrote Revelations... this is silly Learn the history of the church and speak the truth of the gospel the atheists can't combat that.

greetings.Flesh and blood cannot endure in the spiritual domain. The human body does not have a "more enduring substance"to with stand a world not heated by the sun.True-Jesus' body did not decay. But it neither entered into the spiritual realm (heaven)with common physical material(dust of the earth,[Carbon base]).
---earl on 3/11/07

"Scripture" does not remove all possiblility that there were no bones in the strips of swaddling. It specifically doesn't say, unless there's something in the old testament.
The question is. Is it reasonable that the bones remain behind with the swaddling strips?
---jhonny on 3/11/07

Final 4.
The last scripture I have says this.

Ac 2:31 "He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his FLESH did see corruption."
FLESH: Is specifically identified as the soft substance of a living body covering the bones, that which is permeated with blood. Gk.SARX.

It is clear enough in scripture that his flesh and soul(vital essence) were ressurected. His bones are absent from mention.

Here's a hard and fast lesson, Sadducee's do not believe in the resurrection, are you going to listen to someone who has not acknowledged Jesus Christ has risen, if not stand firm and do not give attention to the lie.

1. Jesus was buried in the tomb of a rich man,-Joseph of Arimathea.
Mt 27:57 "When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus disciple:" Mt16:43 "..went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus."
Mt 27:59-60, "..he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60 And laid it in his own new tomb,.."
Lu 24:23 "And when they found not his body,.." soma: living body
---jhonny on 3/11/07

2. They seem to say they have his bones. Bones or no bones remaining?
Different Greek word for a dead body. PLOMA:
"dead body, corpse, carcase." What was not found in the tomb was his "SOMA" living body.

Joh 20:7 "And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself."
So, the head napkin only, was found rolled up in a place by itself.

2. Shiites:
Ali, Muhammads cousin and son-in-law. Ali and his successors are called imams, who not only lead the Shiites but are considered to be descendants of Muhammad. After the 11th imam died in 874, and his young son was said to have disappeared from the funeral, Shiites in particular came to see the child as a Messiah who had been hidden from the public by God.

The largest sect of Shiites, known as twelvers, have been preparing for his return ever since.

If, by chance the tomb in which the body of Jesus was lain were found, it would be found empty. In the words of Mary, "He has risen". If there were remains of anyone found, chances are it would be the dust of Joseph, the kinsman redeemer whose tomb it was. Remember Jesus only borrowed it sort of speak. To answer the second question, there is nothing that man could do, or say to shake the confidence I have been given concerning the Father & His Word, for it has nothing to do with man.
---josef on 3/11/07

I couldn't care less about Jesus' tomb. I know He rose from the dead, and that is all I need. I don't need proof.
---Helen_5378 on 3/11/07

If we depend upon man, they will fail everytime. If we depend upon God, there is no way God will fail us. Whatever they find, has nothing to do with my relationship with God. Man can't save us so why should people worry about things like this? There were many glued to their tv sets wondering what they found. These people won't find nothing, and when they do they will repeat what others have said in the past, "Jesus don't exist, because we can't prove it by a scienctific point of view".
---Rebecca_D on 3/10/07

Unregenerate clay with all of their rudimentary measurements, including their primative dna tests, all contain erroneous conclusions. Truth records that holy Jesus does not have a tomb on earth. Jesus resurrected his physical body and took his living body back up into heaven. Please read Luke 24:51-53; Acts 1:11; Matthew 24:30; I Thessalonians 4:16-18.

I would not be shocked, because I know Jesus and
I know where his bones are, you could not move me to believe mans word about anything, man is a liar and no truth is in him only by the Holy Ghost do men speak truth. And I know truth because the Holy ghost bears witness of it. the elect might be fooled by the Antichrist but those who hear God will not.
---Exzucuh on 3/10/07

Unbelievers will believe anything and everything if they think they can get away with anything and everything. I don't care if they claimed to have found 50000 bones in that there tomb. Jesus saved me. I felt His BLOOD run through me that warm afternoon in June. And He washed away all of my sins. I still however, so you people don't misunderstand me,have to continuouly ask to be forgiven.
---catherine on 3/10/07

I would be shocked if they actually found the bones of Jesus Christ, but how would they possibly identify them. It seems that the people of that era would have noticed if Jesus, Son of God, had an heir to the Davidic Throne. Some would have killed that son just as they tried to kill Jesus as an young child. Early Christians died for their faith, even those who knew Jesus. Most of the Apostles were martyred for their faith, not something they would have done if Christ had not risen from the dead.
---lorra8574 on 3/10/07

The actual tomb of Jesus IS empty. The Bible cannot lie, because Numbers 23:19 says God cannot lie. If the Bible says the tomb is empty, it is empty.

Maybe another tomb belonging to someone else named Jesus may be found. That doesn't make it the tomb of Jesus Christ, the Son of God,

hi... jesus died only once so there can be only one tomb... it is empty 'coz he rose again n ascended to heaven.... so there is no way for another tomb to exist. so in this time when false prophets r showing up... i m not ready to believe anything that ppl say except the word of god... so i don't think my faith will be shaken.... just like paul says neither life nor death, nor anything else can seperate us from the love of god
---sheba8675 on 3/9/07

"And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain." The empty tomb of Jesus is evidence that He is risen. Also He was seen of many after His resurrection.

My faith is not shaken at all, OTHER PAUL.
I don't care what they come up with, or who finds a needle in a haystack.

Will your faith be shaken?

You can have the name, Other Paul, you need it more than I do.
