God will reward his children in his own way, I don't know how but I know that he will. He does reward us now as we live. God tells us in his word Seek ye the Kingdom of God, then the rest shall be added unto you. I can't speak for everyone else, but me and my family are blessed beyond measure.

I noticed no one mentioned:
1Cor 3:8 ...each will receive wages according to the labor of each.

2Cor 5:10 For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive recompense for what has been done in the body, whether good or evil.

Rev 2:23 I am the one who searches minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.

Rev 22:12 ...I am coming soon, my reward is with me, to repay according to everyones work.

Yes and yes. Here on this earth He will reward for faithfulness if you have been bought, payed for by His blood. Do we know what the rewards will be on this earth? No. Have to wait. In Heaven same answer.

I was reading one day in the Bible and it said," God's people are the only blessed people in the world." If you truly have Jesus you'll find out the joy and peace He gives you, and you learn what and whom makes you happy. I use to love shopping, now I do it more out of necessity or to just get out. So often before I even get to the store I am wanting to be back home cuddling with Jesus. I still enjoy shopping a little. [Very little].

Do you remember the story of the rich young ruler? He asked Jesus what he must do to eternal life and Jesus responded telling him Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. Yet lackest thou one thing, sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come follow me. And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

I have always marvelled at the tittle (as a statement only) "To Have
and Have Not" and in a way in trying to reconcile what the Messiah
was to be by some who awaited and what he is, and if I had to
pick a motto to show how I see Jesus preach about possessions,
it would be "To Have Not and Have It All". Those who awaited
expected "To Have All and Have It Abundantly" in an attachment,
material way.

"Mark 10:29: And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you,
There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or
father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and
the gospel's, 30: But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this
time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children,
and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life."

Look at verse 29 and notice that "father", "mother", "wife"
are SINGULAR words. Now look at verse 30 and notice that
they are all PLURAL, hence the "hundredfold". According to
Jesus, his followers will have many (hundredfold) mothers!
Goodness gracious, that's a lot of Mom's cooking!
Look at Mark 3:31_35. Mark 3:35: "For whosoever shall do the will
of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother."

Prosperity preachers that use Mark 10 to point to monetary
rewards are totally missing the Mark! It is about God's family!
Ever seen a little child learning to call his buddie's parents "Mom"
and "Dad" because that is what they heard them being called?
That's the spirit! No wonder Jesus said that we have to become
like children!

Please read Matthew 10 since you have made it this far. Walk
right into your house and "salute" it. God Bless!

Jack ... thanks for pointing out Mark 10.30 It is easy to read over verses and not really see what they say. You have done us a service here.
BUT ... there have been people who in this life who have given up their home. Jesus apparently says they would recieve 100 homes in this life.
But I don;t recall any who have. (except perhaps the mega preachers, and I would doubt what they gave up in the first place)
Ths puzzles me. Perhaps the meaning is not so straighforward as it seems.

It says in the Bible we will recieve crowns. It is good to give, but not to want to recieve only. It has to come from your heart because you feel a passion for the lost. Spread the light of the Lord.

A believer gives a glass of water to a beggar God promise a reward in heaven. A challenge to all His followers on earth to give our tithes He will open the gates in heaven and pour His tremendous blessings. It means obedience could avail Gods reward materially.
And in heaven God prepare a reward for all good works.

The Bible says that when Jesus returns he is bringing his rewards with him. So obviously we cannot have any rewards before he returns. There are five Crowns spoken of in the bible and it is my belief that they make up God's rewards for his people.

Jack, are you saying that God will give me hundredfolds of rewards but they are not free like some preachers promote, but come by persecutions?
---heidi on 3/19/07

Read Bruce Wilkinson's book, the Secrets of the Vine. There are a lot of his books that answers that question. We will get crowns in heaven, but not specifically for great works.

Mark 10:30
But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

That answer your question?
