God is not bound by time. When Jesus died on the cross for sins it was all sins past present and future sins. So the sin we commit tomorrow is already forgiven for at the cross if you follow Christ. That is grace. But sin will keep you from experiencing John 10:10 'the fullness of Christ.' That is truth.
---Scott on 1/17/11

Yes I am a born again Christian saved by Grace alone through faith alone. Yes it is tied to my salvation. See John 3. That last part is a tough one. Some believe once saved always saved so they say you cannot be lost. All I know is that free will is given to us by GOD. He does not take it away. So we can choose to be lost. By the way being a SDA some will deny my Born again status.

To Whosoever Has An Ear To Hear?

Brethren, I Believe we're Justified freely by God's Grace through the Redemption that is in Christ which is the Faith of Christ : Faith being the substance of things Hoped for...
---Shawn.M.T on 1/2/11

Romans 3:24
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Again ShawnMT, I disagree with your statement. I believe Romans 3:24.

-- Kathr :

Justification cannot leave you-- Kathr

Amen Sister, I agree, Believe & hold Faith in Christ without a DOUBT that WE'LL REMAIN JUSTIFIED !!!

BTW ~ Doubt is the opposite of Hope... So if a person isn't doubtful, that would mean that they're Hopeful :-)

Kathr, Learn to properly comprehend the English language and your wrath probable won't get the best of you next time... as it did this time, causing you to carry this ranting & raving into at least three different threads !!!

Good Day
---Shawn.M.T. on 12/31/10

Kathr, YOU'RE RIGHT :-) The word REMAIN is the OPPOSITE of the word LEAVE... So, Now let me ask you, do you Believe your Faith is Hopeful that you'll remain Justified in Christ ??? or are you not Hopeful and believe Justification will leave you !?!

Good Day
---ShawnM.T. on 12/30/1

ShawnMT my faith is not in faith, but Christ alone who has already Justified me. Justification cannot leave you. Justification is not a thing that comes and goes. But you play around with words. Will Jesus Leave me...NO, Jesus will NEVER leave me..period!!

And GOOD DAY to you too!

Can sanctification leave you?
---kathr4453 on 12/30/10

Kathr, how did I not know you would have something to say concerning my faith in Jesus Christ? I'm not afraid of you Kathr. Not for a minute.
I will let you wonder this time and not respond to your opinions and questions. You are looking for dirt, but will not find it.
---Mark_V. on 12/30/10

-- Micheal :

Brother, We're Born Again by Faith in Christ... and the Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we're God's Children & Joint-Heirs with Christ, Sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise which is the earnest of our inheritance UNTIL the redemption of Salvation.

--- Kathr :

Sister, What's the Tree of sinfulness? What do you mean by "will you remain justified, regardless"... REGARDLESS OF WHAT?

Kathr, YOU'RE RIGHT :-) The word REMAIN is the OPPOSITE of the word LEAVE... So, Now let me ask you, do you Believe your Faith is Hopeful that you'll remain Justified in Christ ??? or are you not Hopeful and believe Justification will leave you !?!

Good Day
---ShawnM.T. on 12/30/10

MarkV, that is wonderful. Now let me ask you, if you continue to eat from the tree of sinfulness???, will you remain justified, regardless or will justification leave you? Or is that even a valid question to begin with?

Can one who has been justified even continue to eat sin?

If those whom God has JUSTIFIED He has also Glorified, leave God or God them.

The opposite of remain means leave.

Can one justified leave God? Can God leave one He has Justified?

---kathr4453 on 12/29/10

Frank and Aka answered very well. So did Rebecca D. Salvation is all of the Lord and all who are lost need the Holy Spirit to bring them to life in order that they might believe and be saved. I do remember the date I was given salvation as a promise. On that day I confess Jesus as my Lord and my Savior and believed in my heart that He was raised from the dead by God. That day will be with me till the day I die. Thank you Jesus for coming into my life.
---Mark_V. on 12/27/10

//aka, I think I'm beginning to udeerstand where you are coming from. //

based on your question and commentaries, i don't think you know where i am coming from at all. i think i am being 'pigeon holed'.

125 is not enough space to adequately answer your questions. part 1, 2 ... rarely works, and there is too much crossfire before one can get a complete thought across. so, i give these short answers:

instantaneous or a instantaneous and a process...yes.

delivering us from eternal death (sin) is an important part of God's whole plan of salvation.

salvation is not about being perfect, it is about being perfected through the power of the Holy Spirit.
---aka on 12/27/10

I'm like Obewan. I know I'm born again, but I can't give you a date. Unlike Obewan, I DID'T grow up in a hell-fire and damnation denomination.
When I became born again (instantly, I believe) I had no idea what to expect. Nobody told me "Remember this date" so I didn't. I had no idea how much my life would change. By the time I noticed the changes, I'd forgotten the date it all began. I remember how it happened to this day, and that it was Summer...but that's all I can tell anybody.
---Donna66 on 12/26/10

this question is fraught with mis"conception". conception is only the beginning of sanctification and delivery. not everybody who hears the Truth will be delivered.
---aka on 12/25/10

aka, I think I'm beginning to udeerstand where you are coming from.
But I will ask, do you believe that the New Birth is not INSTANT? Or do you believe it is a prosess?

What is one delivered from that is or will be the conclusion of teh New Birth? SIN? Hummm, our identification with Christ at Calvary INSTANTLY delivered us from sin. We just need to
realize it.

I'm not saved after I come to that realization in it's fruition. Are you saying no christian can die until he becomes perfectly sinless?
---kathr4453 on 12/26/10

//What makes you a born again Christian?//

Jesus spiritually births you.

//Is being born again tied to your salvation?//

you must be physically born and spiritually born (again) to be delivered (salvation).

//Do you have to be born again if you backslide or lose your salvation?//

this question is fraught with mis"conception". conception is only the beginning of sanctification and delivery. not everybody who hears the Truth will be delivered.
---aka on 12/25/10

The love of CHRIST and what he has done for me and yes i think you must be born again .if you back slide you must be born again.
---lloyd on 12/25/10

I suppose by the textbook definition, I am born again. But, I don't have an exact date.

The problem is that I grew up in a Hell fire and brimstone church.

I wound up praying for salvation more than one time. If I drank just one beer, but did not get drunk, I considered myself a backslider who needed to get re-saved.

Now, I have been set free from all that. I acknowledge Jesus as my savior and believe that is a saving knowledge that comes from God choosing me (reformed theology). I acknowledge my sins and ask God to continue to be my saviour. What more is required? I also try to live for him every day.

Acts 2:38 tells you exactly how to be born again- so If you haven't done as Peter Preached on the day of Pentecost- you are not born again. John 3:5-8 Is very specific in these verses that you have to be born of water and spirit to enter the kingdom of God. If you wonder what born of spirit is go to Acts 2:1-4. Many people try to find salvation in the Gospels and all the books after Acts up to Revelation, However Acts is the Step by Step instructions to UN-SAVED people on how to get saved. The other books that follow are to Saved (born again) churches on how to STAY SAVED. So if you do not follow the apostles doctrine you are not saved (born again).

I am born again! I am part of the living god threw christ jesus. I am because jesus lives in me. I live each day to kill self and live to god. I see a live connection with god when i do this. When the Spirit of the Life of Christ who SET YOU FREE from the law of Sin and death is absolutely manifest in your life, then you are Born Again.

DEB, I'm so sorry you have witnessed a poor witness of true salvation.

You may want to show those you speak of Romans 6...Paul too addressed and nipped that question head on. Unfortunately, as we see, many skip right over this chapter...and continue to argue about sinning and losing their salvation. Why, because the message of Salvation is so watered down one teaches Romans 6. It's the very foundation to Romans 8...OH we like that chapter, but fail to understand HOW you can't have chapter 8 at work without ch 6 to STAND ON.

A christian is not a person who has said a prayer, or walked down an aisle, or been raised in a Christian family. A christian is a person who has, by faith, received and fully trusted in Jesus Christ as the ONLY SAVIOR.(John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8-9).

Sister Rebecca, "whosoever believes" are the only one's that will be saved. Who are they? The one's God draws to Himself so they can believe. The word of God through the gospel makes that possible to those that are lost. No one seeks God, they are Spiritually dead. If left to themselves they would all be lost forever. Regeneration is the work of God through the Holy Spirit of placing in one who has been given the gift of faith a new nature that is capable of doing the will of God.
---frank on 4/18/07

B. Rebecca; many here want to take all the credit. They save themselves, they keep that salvation because of their good deeds, they forget what God said, "Without Me, you can do nothing" This holds true for the lost and also for the believers. The lost need the illumination of the gospel to understand spiritual things. That comes from the Holy Spirit. And the believers need to hold on to that faith, in the One they believe in, in order to have genuine faith that preserveres.

C. Rebecca: the failure of many is that they give themselves more glory then to God who had mercy on them. "without Me, you can do nothing" yet they say, they can. Either the person is saved by God or he is not saved at all. Salvation is of the Lord, for Lord.

We all need to study John 3,16. >>To love the whole world was also to love the Gentiles as well as the Jews. God was in Christ. Reconciling the world to Himself. This is good news to a convinced conscience.Christ our judge, came not to condemn, but to save. All of these things brings happiness to a true believer. Now to those that will not believe in Christ, [Reject Salvation] you are already condemned. [Unbelief is a sin against the remedy].>>>>>Christ is hated because sin is loved.

all things are forgiven if we will humble ourselves enough to do it. repentence is the key. if we repent of our sins and feel genuine remorse for them, the atonement washes them clean. if we do not repent daily, our garments are stained in red and the Savior suffered for us for nothing. That is a big difference between professing with our mouths the name of Jesus Christ and living in His image. If we truly love Him, we will obey everything He asks us to do to live with Him again.

many say you just have to believe Jesus is the Christ to be saved. in a way you are right. you have to develop a love for the Savior in a way you never want to do anything to hurt Him. You want to know Him as well as you know yourself and live your life as an example of His life to others. your actions are what saves you, not empty words. even Satan's demons knew Jesus is the Christ and they are not saved in God's kingdom.

Phil the Elder... please read John 3:16. "Whosoever believes on Him shall be saved." That means anyone who believes. God offers salvation to all. He knows who will accept it and who won't be He does not force it on anyone. Many are called few are chosen... when you accept His salvation then you are among the chosen. At least that's how I understand it.

1. Did God really use a "big bang" as you suppose or was it actually more like a BIG BLING ? ( Gen. 1:3 )

2. Your comments clearly indicate the god you imagine isn't the God of the Bible because you fail to understand God's plan of salvation is generally available to "whosoever" ( ANYONE , John 3:16 ).

If you are born of the spirit, you are born again. I laugh when people say that they don't have to be born again to go to heaven. or when someone says that "born again" is a term that was invented a few years ago. I guess they have never read the Third Chapter of John.

Rev_Herb, I guess you still don't get it. God is in control. God has a plan for all, his elect and for the non-elect that he wants to use for some divine purpose in a plan. The plans for the Elect are just more desirable. God chooses you and offers you irresistable grace. Salvation is by invitation only, if you don't get an invitation you are simply reprobate and your spiritual essence will be consumed in the Lake of Fire after the Last Judgement never to exist there after.
