It wouldn't be so bad it we could spread the sadness around on a PB and Jelly sandwich.

I'm sorry for your nervous breakdown, Alan.
---Mark on 2/7/08

Mark ... You say "It wears me out reading about it"
You don't have to read it, and there is no need to post if all you can do is to be critical of the person who is in trouble and those who try to help.
---alan_of_UK on 2/7/08

I read through all of the replies, a very sad, sad state of affairs.
Relying on others to be constantly built up, needing undivided attention, wears people out. It wears me out reading about it.
I hope you receive your healing from this sad state.
---Mark on 2/7/08

I can't say I have. Before I got saved by the Blood of Christ, it's a wonder. I would try my best to prevent such an occurrence. I heard one time, that it's pretty bad. Satan loves to torment.
---catherine on 2/7/08

If the situation was not God's will for us to be there--yes, Al, it could help to get out.
We have pushed our way into jobs and relationships where we did not belong, and pushing can trip the pedal of a mousetrap that can snap us, I have found.

Instead of pushing our way around, we need to submit to what God has us do. "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)

The human mind and spirit is fragile, there is only so much destructive interaction anyone can take. Soldiers find that out...Chrtistians who are in weakened state seek a Biblical Solution with safe counseling around that goal. Surely Christ boar our sins and inquitites. He suffered through in GETSEMENE-the Olive press. He has the answer.

Yes ... Professional medical help is important.
It helps to be able to change the thing that causes the problem. (in my case it was my job ... or rather my boss)

I offer you encouragement and you throw it back at me.
I don't understand. All you have done is strengthen in me in my Catholic faith.
---Ed on 5/21/07

Ed - ("In return you give me anger and aggression.") -- Ed, I was not even the slightest bit angry. All I did was ask you a question.
---Helen_5378 on 5/18/07

Well, as catherine says, no one is 100% in the head. I suppose that's true. Since the fall of man, brain cells have been waning.
I hope we don't look like a bunch of shrunken heads by the time it's all over. Enormous bodies and tiny heads. And forget going to the head shrinker ...heads the size of a pin.

You cannot separate the stripes from the sacrifice because it was in His dying that those stripes were taken. For God commended His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Every aspect of His death was the commendation of God's love toward us, even the stripes.

"Ed, do you believe in Jesus' sacrifice of Himself on the Cross for the sin of the world?"

What kind of question is this? All Christians believe this. Yes. I could ask the same of you but that would be an insult. Why do you insult me Helen when i was trying to offer you encouragement before. In return you give me anger and aggression. If that is how you feel i will stop communicating with you. God Bless all the same. Bye.
---Ed on 5/18/07

Unfortunately i only have 85 words to talk about a very big subject.

"In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the expiation for our sins. (1 Jn 4:9-10)"
---Ed on 5/18/07

Ed - ("Just have to believe in the great Love of God.") -- Ed, do you believe in Jesus' sacrifice of Himself on the Cross for the sin of the world? You see, Jesus is the Healer. Scripture does not say that love heals, but it says that "By His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:3-5).

Mary, One of my all time favorites is Psalm 91. This helped me when I was in this state, I even sang it. Then Praised God for keeping me in perfect peace, when there was no sanity, and chaos on every front, even yesterday my little guy did a handstand on his bunk, fell on porcelain, tore flesh, thought I would lose it but called on JESUS, as a mother can not afford to faint, and He gave me peace, and all is well.

Dear Helen
Some people have physical damage in the brain or a lot of one chemical over another. The latter can often lead to extraordinary creativeness - famous writers, artists, scientists, philosophers - and theologians, have had this.
Physchological problems arrive from the hurt people feel from the rejection they sometimes receive for being a bit different. These problems can disappear in a flash with the Love. If others don't give it - God does. Just have to believe in the great Love of God.

Bless you Carla :) I needed those Scriptures this morning, as I read them. :)
---Mary on 5/7/07

Isa 59:19
When the enemy shall come in like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.
Isa 26:3
Thou will keep him in perfect peace, who's mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee.
2 Sam22:3
The God of my rock in him will I trust, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour thou saveth me from violence.
---Carla5754 on 5/7/07

Psalms 71:1:24

In thee do I put my trust let me never be put to confusion.

As long as we continue to praise the lord regardless our circumstances God will deliver us from all harm and restore unto us a mind that is stayed on him let these words of encouragement be your memory verses in times of tests and trail and pray you shall use them boldly to strike back at satan when he lies to you saying you cannot be free from your circumstances May God bless and keep you always XXX.

I will say it again. When you are truly saved from Hell, Jesus GIVES you a Sound Mind. That is one of the beauties of Jesus in your life. The question is, as always, are you truly saved from Hell? I will not change this message, No Sir; because God has not changed His.
---catherine on 5/6/07

Before I became a born again, I suffer a great deal of it and when I cross over to christainity I found myself still dealing with it. My antidote is God's Word. The bible is filled with many promises and you need to embrase them. A nervous breakdown is cause by fear, worry and anxiety. Please read scriptures that concerns these three word and you will find comfort. Jesus commands us not to Worry but to seek Him first, everything else will fall into place Jn 6:33. Trust Him and He will meet all your needs.

Catherine - You sound like you are mocking Christians who have mental disorders. You are truly blessed to not have such a problem. But please have a heart for those of us who do suffer mentally.
---Helen_5378 on 5/6/07

Suffer, oh yes. Mental disorders, oh No. When Jesus saves, He gives you and Me a SOUND MIND. Suffer, oh yes. Jesus said,"we would". Sound mind, oh yes. Mental defiency, Oh NO. "Oh my goodness".

You must seek medical help if your doctor advises. Don't forget: you can also help yourself. The phsyical side of mental health can give people complexes and create psychological side effects. These can be cured by yourself. Remember this that God loves you no matter how others treat you. Pray to God to help you on your way. At the end of the day mental heath is just too much of one chemical. In some cases it can be creative. But maybe there is just too much of the chemical in your case (?)

Hi, Mary . . . thanks for sharing such a sensitive and personal thing > on the Net I keep reading about different Christian sisters who get hurt with guys they so loved.

We're ALL human > but when it's YOU getting your turn to learn the hard can feel so alone, on your own...isolated.

But we love you and are praying for you. I think it's good to share with various other Christians so we find out how to relate in love, so you won't be so impressed by some smart talking charmer.
---Bill_bila5659 on 5/2/07

Bless you Cynthia 1. :) I found out yesterday I've lost a portion of my insurance that covers mental health care :( But my mom is helping me find a good (and affordable) psychiatrist, who will work with my income. I will pray for you too; it's miserable and we so often feel judged on top of that. God bless.
---Mary on 5/2/07

Ed, this was something that happened in the past, I am entirely healed now, just trying to help out a bit with Marys question, to let her know that this terrible thing can be overcome, if we stand on the promises of God just memorize scripture and overcome by the word of our testimony, God is listening, and He will deliver you I am sure of it. Take courage and have faith, I feel for you because I know the pain that I suffered was more than words can tell.

First and foremost, no doubt, i would say you are suffering from nerves - which is something physical. Pray to God, but rest your nerves too - don't allow yourself to get over anxious / angst. Also check your diet and make sure you take lots of exercise. I bet you are perfectly normal except that you have a bit of nerves that you need to get more under control.
---Ed on 4/30/07

I would just lie on the bed for three hours shaking, and felt paralized it was like my thinking was so confused then when I would read my Bible I could not even read it, I then realized this thing was demonic, I screamed for deliverence to Jesus, Call upon Him in the day of trouble the Bible says and He will deliver you, Plead the blood, And quote that NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST YOU WILL PROSPER. Satan causes all sickness, disease, physical, mental maladies in the human race Luke 13:16 and Acts 10:38.
---Cynthia_1 on 4/29/07

Yes, I have. I joined myself together with a guy who lied to me about his christianity, and was used as a pawn of Satan himself to destroy my very sanity, I will not go into details but I suffered almost 5 fatal blows, that should have wiped me clear out of my mind, it is only by the COVERING OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS, AND getting a Bible and SINGING it to my self such as Psalm 91, that I was completely healed I put on my garments of PRAISE ...PART 1
---Cynthia_1 on 4/29/07

Mary, as others have said, you are not alone. I've experienced severe depression, anxiety and panic disorder, all very frightening. Seek medical help, but also seek the Lord, He is our conforter and healer. He will direct you in the way you should go, be your strength and hope. God has brought me a long ways, tho I still have a ways to go. Bless you

Dear Mary
You should read Job.
It doesn't say in the Bible that Job actually had a nervous breakdown but his language is similar to that of someone who has or close to one. He loses everything in life: including his dignity.
And yet ... we know that all along God Loved him (there is, Thank God, a happy ending for Job!)
Seek professional help if you feel you need it, but, above all, turn to God. He will get you back on track. And don't ever forget He Loves you!
Take care. God Bless.
---Ed on 4/17/07

Hi; thank you all so much; I truly appreciate your prayers and counsel. I am seeing my doctor today and going to ask about a possible change in medication and a referral to a psychiatrist or counselor. This is humiliating but I have to get well or get sicker. Thank you all and God bless.
---Mary on 4/17/07

Praise God I never have. But I did spend a life time of the devil about to drive me up a wall. Ofcourse, I did not know it was the devil I thought it was just me. Nothing wrong with my mind, I didn't know that. Now I do. And all now is due to Jesus Christ. Don't tell me there is no God, I need GOD

A bad working environment is not worth losing your health. A bad marriage can destroy your health, too. It's so important not to jump into unequal marriage relationships. "Everything is perfect, he's a non-believer, but I love him."

Get a psychiatrist and a therapist and a good church. Having a discipleship relationship with an older Christian woman was key. That is how I coped.
---Madison1101 on 4/16/07

Mary, I have not, but know someone who has. She needs lots of medical attention, but it seemed like when she found a good church, with good people in it, they knew how to show her Christ's love for her. In the meantime, I will be praying for you and recommend you pray to God and ask Him to help you, that you really need His help. He will hear you at the sound of your cry.
