Mark_Eaton, I personally am not aware, but I'm sure if they are its not something that is going to be in neon lights. Much like those who support those coming out of Mormonism, would be under the radar support groups ...word of mouth, etc. I think because of the tactics used against those helping and escaping ......probably much like the Underground Railroad. And where these big centers are, in Clearwater, Calif, I'm sure there are great support groups. Im glad to see the series educating people.

Also we as Christians need to be aware that with those getting out they DESPERATELY need a support system.
---kathr4453 on 1/30/17

I agree. The old song still rings true. "They will know we are Christians by our love, by our love". I pray that they will hear the truth for themselves and trust Him. I also pray that Christians will be obedient and heed the call to service.

Do you know of any Christian organizations that are helping the people coming out of Scientology?
---Mark_Eaton on 1/31/17

Mark_Eaton, no family members, but I have been watching. HBO also did a fabulous documentary a couple years ago. So I have known about them for years. Yes it's horrible.

I was watching a Jerry Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman moment when they were driving around NY for coffee. Jerry stops at a stop sign, and on the right is a huge Scientology Church. Sarah sees it , and says...." OK we did have a problem with Jesus, but have come to respect those who believe in Jesus, ...but RON!...RON! now there's a God named Ron????"

I'm so glad this info is getting out, and more and more people understand the dangers. Also we as Christians need to be aware that with those getting out they DESPERATELY need a support system.

Yes, StrongAxe it was Chicken track. I forgot the name. The last one was in 2000.

Thank you for telling me his name I will pray for him.

Now if people passed out WARNINGS about the dangers of Scientology....that's not necessarily a Gospel tract , but a community service announcement.
---kathr4453 on 1/30/17

Wow, have you watched any of the documentary on Leah Remini and Scientology? I think its on A & E.

Wow. I never knew anything about Scientology except Tom Cruise was in it. I was shocked at the stuff that goes on inside this "religion". I hope you don't have any family or friends tangled up in that mess.

I am a reason you should give out tracts. I have for 35 + years.

I love this. Faith comes by hearing the word of God...yes even in printed form. I also love giving one of those tiny Gospel of John booklets with a tract.

Nicole, I agree, if there are tracts bashing anyone or anything, it's not a Gospel tract pointing to Jesus Christ.

Now if people passed out WARNINGS about the dangers of Scientology....that's not necessarily a Gospel tract , but a community service announcement.

You wrote: People have put NASTY hateful anti-Catholic tracts on my car years ago. If they intended to convert a Catholic it most likely did the opposite.

Was it a Chick tract? Jack Chick publishes many different tracts with lurid artwork and hysterical fear-mongering messages. They used to be quite popular in the '80s, but I've only seen a couple in the last two decades. His hatred of Catholics (and virtually anyone else who did not share his particular narrow flavor of protestantism) was legendary. He passed away recently. I hope he finds the afterlife less lurid than he portrayed it in his tracts.

When God is ready to call someone to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, He will use any means to do that. But you can rest assure that when He calls someone, they will come. They first need to hear the Word of God, either by reading it, hearing it from a Preacher, tape, or track, but the person will hear the word of God, the gospel of their salvation.

I don't mind the Salvation tracts as along as they are charitable.

People have put NASTY hateful anti-Catholic tracts on my car years ago. If they intended to convert a Catholic it most likely did the opposite.
It hasn't happened in a while thank God.

My understanding of Salvation tracts is that they explains the Salvation (Protestant version) in simple short steps.

Salvation tracts can be hopeful if done correctly.

YES, everybody is handing out tracts in Las Vegas too, but they are not religious tracts.

I was not raised in a Christian home. Never went to church and knew nothing of God, the Bible and Jesus Christ. I grew up 8 houses down from a Baptist church.
When I was 18 a friend gave me a Christian tract.
It was that tract alone that God used to bring me to a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
I am a reason you should give out tracts. I have for 35 + years.

It's the main way I "evangelize" now. I'm a bit shy sometimes so tracts are perfect for me to pass out. I ask a person if they would like something to read for later. Most people respond kindly and accept them. I love tracts because they are something that a person can take with them and keep "forever". I have a prayer list at home where I jot the people down to whom I give a tract and I pray for them. I use CHICK tracts. I write my name and Godly web-sites on the back of each tract.

Oh sure, there are tracts thrown away. More so than ones kept however, even one who comes thru tracts, means a lot to the Lord. Look on the positive side always. Not the negative, and pray about it. Do you pray before you start giving out tracts? I always do.
---jana on 4/28/07

Wow! I'm wondering how you know that the tracts get thrown away. You have absolutely no way of knowing what happens to the tracts once the person leaves your sight. Did someone tell you that they are usually thrown away? What about that one person who gets saved because of the tract? We know of many who have come to know Jesus because of gospel tracts. Don't give up on something just because you have been told it might not work.

I have been handing out tracts to many thousands of people and on these tracks are also to free numbers where they can call to ask questions or get answers is one of the most effective way of witnessing and how you approach people is crucial. Loving and kind, patient and caring is the way. Many many has come to Christ.
---jana on 4/20/07

Many times we just simply say, "Here's something for you to read." Most people will take it. Some stop to talk. Others stick it in their pocket. Very few actually throw them away in front of us. Remember, the Bible says that the Word of God will not go away void. You gotta sow before you can reap.

I don't hand out tracks. Because most of them will be thrown away without a person looking at them. I find it easier by showing people God's love through me. Because when they see me, they see God. And they know I abide in him because of the light that shines through me.
---Rebecca_D on 4/20/07

Two doctors have invited me to witness in their waiting rooms anytime I want to. There's also one local business( I witnessed to the manager and she received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior) who lets me witness in her store.
---Mima on 4/20/07

Just think of the way the person who witnessed to you to get you saved.
---Rickey on 4/20/07

I ask the person what time it is or something & start a conversation with them. When you do that the person won't be so protective. They'll feel more comfortable talking to you.

Then you can ask them if they need prayer for anything or if they've excepted Jesus as their Lord.

U can then use the tract as a "study guide" as you teach them about salvation.

Handing out Christian tracts has been a very effective method of witness for our ministry team, especially on the streets in Las Vegas. We also distributed them at the services at homeless shelters with good results. We have had many people tell us later that they read the tract and that it made a difference in their lives. Make sure there is a church name, address and phone number on the tract. Ray Comfort's tracts are the best for evangelism because they are modern, colorful and at times humorous.
---Susie on 4/20/07

One good way of getting tracts out to people is to leave them on the seats in Buses and trains. I believe tracts should always be about Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
---Helen_5378 on 4/20/07

Peggy--- very little success will result from a passing out tracts. Most effective soulwinning method involves verbal communication, actually asking questions, so you might want to decide on that means of witnessing. I have tried many methods Roman road ext. the most effective method I have ever seen is open, confrontational, in-your-face questions. Recently seeing about four conversions a day.
---Mima on 4/20/07

I dont think there is any one method to hand out Tracts. We must be sensitive to the Holy Spirit first, then one of the many ways
we can hand out a tract is just by simply saying.. Excuse me, this has changed my life
completely, can I give you one that will Bless you. No favourite tract. Brian 6933

Handing out Christian Tracks to people at random is generally non-effective and just contributes to a littering problem. A far better method is work with local merchants that will allow you to put up track stands or racks where people who actually want them can chose the ones the want. Ideal locations are local service businesses not part of a national chain that might prohibit such activity. Coin Launders, Coffee Shops, places where people go and have to wait to be served and might read something.
---notlaw99 on 4/19/07

I don't hand out tracts. I think they are very impersonal and usually end up in the trash. I use friendship, and getting to know the people I am with to witness.
