You draw nearer to God when you do His will. What is His will? God tells you from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation.

Do the two commandments as spoken of by Jesus. How do you love God with all your heart, mind and soul? Do everything to the glory of God. If you wash dishes in a restaurant, wash them to glorify God, not man.

How do you love your neighbor? Do not be only hearer of the Word but doers. Do an online Bible search for "one another" and "each other" to give you an example.

Feed the poor, give drink to the thirsty, clothe those in need. Do not do what most Christians do and give them an address for help - get personally involved.

The same way you draw nearer to ANYONE. Spend time with Him, learn everything you can about Him by reading His word. Sing His praises and pray.

To Whomsoever has an ear to hear?

God is constantly drawing us to Himself through Christ. All we have to do is just keep ourselves weak & meek, putting all our trust into His promises (that He is true to His Word & can not lie) and to always be in hope of receiving the discernment of His Holy Spirit to gain His peaceful understanding, into our lives, of the Wisdom that is His Word.

In reality you need to get out of the boat. Experience God's power. Trust me, you will draw close to the Lord thy God. AHHHHHH Jesus.

For me this always work: I give my heart, let go of myself and acknowledge that God has my best at heart so I give Him the upper hand in all as far as my life is concern. I talk to Him in all I do and ask Him what I should do, how and when. I live by scriptures in that I confess and speak them upon my life but the best time of all is when I just open up my heart to him and tell Him every litle thing about my life even though I know He knows it all I tell Him so that He will be free to direct and lead me. I believe one can also draw near to God through true worship.

A Christian doesnt draw near to God, he is already there. Salvation is Christ in you.
If you dont feel HIM near, start talkin to HIM. HE is there waiting.

pt.2.. because, If that key has not even been put into the ignition in a while, that car may be dead, likewise, thats how it is with us, spend time LOVING ON HIM, People actually spend more time loving on their cars then they do their God, they may have a flawless vehicle, but a filthy temple, so if we spend time perfecting our temple, Seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened ask and it will be given, God will then give you as much time, as He sees you give to Him.

How you can draw closer to God is Keep the Commandments, read the Bible everyday, pray everyday, and also try to save and teach people that you meet everyday no matter what.

Catherine - Amen to that. I am sure He carries me all the time! Through many trials and many hardships I have learned to simply trust Him! It is simple! Just trust!

Just like God is always speaking, and for many reasons, we are not hearing. God is also waiting for His children to draw close to Him. First I have to take the initiative
and come to Him, then in faith Expect Him to be there, and then Be STILL, and KNOW, that He is there.( James 4:8, Ps 46:10 )

I believe God wants me to personally and sensitively share with Him, all the time, and do only what He has be doing with Him in His peace > "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

But I need to do "better" at this. WHEN I fail, it can help if I be quiet and wait for Him to get through to me and restore me with His love (Romans 5:5).

How do I explain: I will be honest, I was called into a close relationship with God. I will be honest again; every Christian can have this, but the weaker you are the more lackly you will to take God up on His offer. The weaker you are when you are chosen the more lackly you will learn early to cling to God. I simply realize from day one what I had. The more He did for me The more I became dependent upon Him. So you will invitable draw close to God. And you stay close to God. [HUMILITY]

There are many actions a person can take. Humbleness is one because God resists the proud. Obedience is another. Praise, worship, and prayer are some more. Seek first the kingdom of God. The list could be quite large.

I will give you an analogy. Your car has all the makings to get you from point A to point B, but ALL conditions must be met first. Did you check the oil? Did you check the gas tank? Radiator? Engine? Battery? Tires? Spark plugs, because even the slightest little thing could make that car break down if left ignored and not fixed. Likewise, with our ''temple'' Is everything in place, clean and swept and Holy?
