To Whosoever Has An Ear To Hear?

We're able to Love God because He First Loved us and it's only through being Drawn by God's Love into the Charity of Loving our Lord, God with all our Heart, Soul & Mind, that we're able to 'Endure'(persevere) all things :FOR Charity never faileth!!

Do not be deceived, it's not of your own strength but the 'Passion of Christ' which has persevered unto Salvation. All Glory goes to God for supplying all the needs of the Chosen Elect through His Riches & Glory in Christ Jesus : Whose strength is made perfect in God's Children's weakness, enabling us to do all things, 'Persevering' in His Obedience Unto Death. (2Cor.12:9-10)

Salvation is a process that begins when the Lord brings you to life, and is for all eternity. Growing in grace means just that. As we continue in our Christian life's we grow in grace as we learn more about God, walk closer to God, as we are been sanctified. No one dies to grace. So no one loses his grace. Only in the Catholic church doctrine can a person lose his grace that he got when he sins and goes to hell unless he gains it again by good deeds. Grace is a gift that comes by no merits of our own.
---Mark_V. on 5/10/08

It is a gift. It is also a part of our armour (Ephesians 6) the 'helmet' of salvation. Like gifts, and like helmets, we can easily lose it if we do not cherish it and keep it well guarded.
---frances008 on 5/8/08

Salvation, instantaneous.

Remaining faithful to God, forever.
There is no end to faithfulness to God, God is eternal.

Works are not faithfulness, perserving by works alone.
Works without faith, as a way of working your way to heaven, is not salvation.

(2.)Mima, Christians must Grow in God's Grace (Gal. 5:18),shoots down the LIE of the false doctrine "Once Saved Always Saved"(Eternal Security),

(Heb. 12:15-17):

"Ye therefore, beloved... BEWARE lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But GROW IN GRACE, and in the KNOWLEDGE of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen" (2 Peter 3:17,18).
---Mrs._Morgan on 5/6/08

Salvation is instant. The moment you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you are saved (Romans 10:9,10). It is the sanctification of the saint that is a lifelong process, whereby the Spirit of God keeps removing things from us that are not pleasing to the Lord.
---Helen_5378 on 8/14/07

Regeneration is an instantaneous event. Conversion is a process which takes time. Visit to discover the truth.
---BaptistCommentary on 8/13/07

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Are gifts a process?

Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

As Jesus was strengthened for death, we have to be strengthened for persecution. He who fails to persevere persecution does not have the Spirit & is not saved.
---a_servant on 6/26/07

Salvation is instantaneous. However, if you endure to the end you shall be saved. Also, Anyone that tells you that good works are apart from Salvation is a liar. Good works, ofcourse, Won't save you. I think we all know that. But good works goes along with Salvation. The Devil is very busy these days, So, More so should God's people be fruitful with good works.
---catherine on 6/21/07

Salvation means life...Its not a process we go through or a work that we must do. Its all by grace through FAITH.
When we are saved, we have life. We are dead to sin and alive to God.
---duane on 6/20/07

Salvation is for those who believe on Jesus the Christ. God made a covenet with us. If we accept and obey Him then we wil recieve our reward. Be not deceived. God is not moked. We must obey His word!
---Paul on 6/19/07

Salvation is instantaneous. Whamo God has got you. But in order to ever reach heaven there are some things you will have to heed to. OBEY GOD is one. Learn to endure is another one. Learn to walk in LOVE is another one. Learn how to suffer with a good attitude is another one. Staying in prayer constantly asking for forgiveness is one. And keep God's Commandments! Yes!
---catherine on 6/19/07

Robyn sorry for the delay, I seem to have misplaced this blog somewhere along the way. With Jesus, we get the contract to be everything that Jesus wants for us, but if we fail to complete our part of the contract, we need to repent and that is where confession and absolution come in. Jesus did His part, we need to do ours. It is not about earning anything - we have the contract paid by blood, but we need to fulfill it.
---lorra8574 on 6/18/07

Lorra8574.American Idol is a bad analogy but I will try to tie in with it. Now the dude is Jesus. Where does confession and repentance fit in with this American Idol description of salvation? Do the contestants confess their sins of having bad or below average voices? Admit they sinned repent and receive the contract from the dude(Jesus)which symbolizes salvation? Oh well. Let me leave that alone. Very bad analogy.
---Robyn on 5/29/07

Salvation is instantaneous. We receive it through sincere confession, repentance & belief. Perseverance is very important. If we do not continue on(perseverance) in the faith we will be lost to a waiting Hell. We should eventually grow into mature christians on our journey and stand strong in the Lord. This is persevering. Learn to love Christ and others, more and more each day.
---Robyn on 5/29/07

Matthew 24:13 and Mark 13:13 "...But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved."

I thought of a way to look at salvation. In the popular TV show "American Idol" many contestants sing their hearts out to gain a great prize - a contract worth fame and wealth. Now imagine that some dude came along and said, come to me and I will give you that prize. On your own you lack the talent and rhythm to make it, but with me you will sing like angels and dance like Fred Astair.

Part 2: Now we have signed this contract with this dude and we have it all. But what has the contract provided us with? In American Idol, the winner does not retire, this is the beginning. Everything he or she does well gains more money and more fame than before. And they get to do what they wanted all along - to sing and make music.

We have a covenant with Jesus. He fulfills His end perfectly and without fail. Now we have our part.
---lorra8574 on 5/29/07

Part 3: What does Jesus ask of us? The Bible tells us this repeatedly - Love Him, follow His Commandments, Love our neighbour and follow His example. It is not hard.

We did not deserve this, we cannot earn it or pay for it, but Jesus gave it to us as a free gift without any strings. The Covenant is ours. But just like a singer has to fulfill his or her contract, we also need to fulfill our end of the covenant.
---lorra8574 on 5/29/07

Part 4: Our part is not hard. Jesus even made that easy for us. He gave us a clean slate so that we could become what was originally given to Adam and Eve. And any true Christian would want this, to Love God and Serve God, while on earth and when in Heaven.
---lorra8574 on 5/29/07

The Bible tells us to work out our salvation in fear and trembling. Salvation is a free gift of God. We can not earn it. this is simply saying that we are to walk it out.... Live it every day. We should be growing more like Christ all the time. Fear and trembling here means in reverence and awe of God.

Salvation is obtained line upon line, precept upon precept. Jesus said: Be ye therefore perfect, even as your father in Heaven is perfect. Why command us to do that if it can't be done. oh ye of little faith. we perfect ourselves in many ways. never drinking alcohol ever, not lying, commiting adultery, praying always, repenting and never doing a sin again ever. never taking or using drugs. never swearing, reading scriptures daily. living as an example of Jesus Always and not just professing his name.

#2. Yet we cannot, even by our best works, merit pardon of sin or eternal life from the hand of God, for those works are out of all proportion to the glory to come. Also, because of the infinite distance that is between us and God, our works can neither benefit God nor satisfy the debt of our former sins. When we have done all we can, we have only done our duty, and are still unprofitable servants. Besides, if our works are good they originate from the Spirit, and whatever we do is defiled

#3. and mixed with so much weakness and imperfection that it cannot endure the severity of God's judment. yet, although believers are accepted as individual people through Christ, their good works also are accepted in Christ. It is not as though in this life they were entirely blameless and beyond censure in God's sight, but that He (the Father) looks upon them in His Son. And overlooks the imperfections and many weaknesses.
---mark on 5/21/07

jhonny, if that faith is in wrong doctrine, it is not true faith in Christ. There is no question on preserverence. There is no question in obedience. There is no questions as to what we should do, and not do. There is no question many don't do them all. Here you will hear some that they are perfect, Just by speaking that, they give proof, that they are so far off from the truth. There is no excuse for anyone sinning. None whatsoever. Sin brings consquences in our lives that can effect everyone around us.

Faith needs perserverence. Faith is about persuasion, belief, conviction. And yes, it must be on sound doctrine. But by choice, faith can be on unsound doctrine.

#2. "Watch ye, stand fast in the faith" Faith here means sound doctrine. This faith is talking about "Pistis," from the word "peitho" In general it implies such a knowledge of, assent to, and confidence in certain divine truths, especially those of the gospel, that produce good works. Matt.8:10; 15:28; Acts 3:16; Rom. 1:17; Sometimes, however, simply a knowledge and assent to religious truths without good works and, therefore false faith, (James 2:14, 17, 18, 24, 26.
---mark on 5/17/07

Only true faith that comes from God is saving faith. You cannot get rid of it, or make it disappear. It holds to every fiber of Christ. It brings assurance to every born again believer. You can lose your faith, and doubt all you want, but that true faith from God never goes away because it is found in Christ not in man. God's faith never fails.

God helps us get through for without Him we would stay captive to our old father. God by grace carries us all through this life. We are helpless without Christ. It is all a work of God. Glory to the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
---sarah on 5/17/07

What part does perserverence play?
1Cr 16:13 "Watch ye, stand fast in the faith,.."
It is our faith we protect. Faith is immovable by perserverene. It is by faith we are established. By faith we are rescued and healed. And faith can be harmed. Various calamities, and false leadership can overtake us. Vigilance to rise up and be awake is called for. The falling away is from faith, not from organizations. A defection, resulting in a forsaking or compromise of the truth.

Good question mima. God our Creator has used process in the creation account. Many deny this process prefer to believe in something instantaneous. Salvation is definitely a process. A series of actions and operations to obtain a result.

#4. These passages are all teaching passages to the believer. Be humble, sober, be vigilant. Verse 9, Resist the devil, steadfast in the Faith, that the same suffering are experienced by your brotherhood in the world." If you go to 1 Peter 5:10 it says, "But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen."
---mark on 5/15/07

#5. But you did not mean what God wanted it to mean. You twisted God's words to have your own effect. That there is many kinds of Christians, and that they will be judge and condemned. Which is not what God's word is saying at all. This method is done by many in the church. Many Word Faith teachers are known for mixing and twisting God's word just like you do. It sounds true, because God's words are used, but is for a different purpose, not what God wanted to convey. Truth mixed with untruth.
---mark on 5/15/07

Mrs Morgan, the Bible is easy to understand when the Spirit of God brings light to it. It is so easy that a child can understand it. It is to be read just like all other books, recognizing poems, teachings, history, ect. It is when people began to spiritualize it and adding, that makes God's word of no effect. There is nothing hard about how God speaks to us, He speaks to us in human terms. Not in words that we won't understand.

#2. Since I cannot respond to all of the passages, I will respond to the last one you gave. I spoke of twisting and mixing passages to come out with a result you want to convey, and you did the same thing with 1 Peter 4:17-18. "For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God" This judgment is not condemnation. It cannot be since there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ. This judgment is the purging, chastening, and purifying of the church by the loving hand of God.
---mark on 5/15/07

#3. Peter's emphasis is that it is far better and more important to kingdom work to endure suffering as the Lord purges and strengthens the church, than to endure the eternal sufferings of the unbeliever in the lake of fire. This ungodly and sinners are people that are lost. There is no ungodly Christians. All Christians are godly. To make your point, you throw in passages out of the blue, to reach out and get a result, which in the first place is so wrong.

Carly: "What have you done, Steveng."

It's none of your business. It's between God and me. Although I did hint at what I did in other posts.

Mrs Morgan, I like the way you word you comments, they are mixed with all kind of idea's and words that sound like they are all true but it's the same method use by many in evangelizing with truth and false. "But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him." (1 Corinthians 6:17) When you first get saved, you become "joined to the Lord" so you are together with Him and no longer in separation of sin. This becoming "joined" to the Lord would be "instantaneous".

AND it is very PERSONAL > to be "one spirit with Him" in His own love "in our hearts" (Romans 5:5) > VERY i-n-t-i-m-a-t-e.

After God saves you by joining you to Him, now you are "one spirit with Him." (1 Cor. 6:17) If you are one with God in the Holy Spirit, the power ALMIGHTY of His love will overcome your disobedient nature so you become obedient > to how this love has you PERSONALLY relating with God and loving ALL people in His ALL-loving love. This is the ONLY process that can happen in God's love "in our hearts"...a process in p-e-r-s-o-n-a-l sharing with God.

As God's chastening overcomes how we are, we more and more enjoy "the peaceable fruit of righteousness"...because He WORKS and SUCCEEDS against our own nature's resistance (Philippians 1:6).

We come to Jesus, Himself, then LEARN from Jesus in His love tenderly caressing us with His soul rest "in our hearts" (in Romans 5:5); so this is very INTIMATE.

It is one and both at once. Salvation is instantaneous but we should grow into Christ's likeness as well. if you don't grow and show fruit then are you saved? It's apparent that the posts on this blog (as with other blogs) are from people who are just too knowledgeable to agree on any point. They use their worldly knowledge to define what is truth. Posters use worldly Christian references instead of relying on the Bible itself. It is also apparent that posters have the knowledge of God, but deny his true power. Christianity today is in a very sad state of affairs when Christians have a very superficial view of the Bible and rarely delve into the heart of it.

Being born again or salvation is instantaneous. We confess, repent, ask God to forgive us our sins and He does. That part is instantaneous. Then there is another stage called justification. We are just as saved in one minute, as someone who has born again 40 years. You are justified. Made right with God. But it is a process before you become a mature christian. You will have to grow like a young child, so to speak.

Don't take the verse out of context,"work out your own salvation with patience". Not referring, (study the Strong's), to salvation of the soul. It's by grace- although some try to bend it to fit their beliefs. Read Romans- Sanctification is a process. If you ask Christ to save you, His blood is placed on the doorposts of your heart, and He comes in to sup with you. Sanctification means (after salvation) Christ desires to make you like Him...pure, holy, etc.. That's a process.

Salvation begins when you are brought to life by the Holy Spirit, and given the ability to repent and come to know the truth and believe through the gift of faith. With that awakening of life by the Spirit, you will see your sins against God, and you will repent. 'Faith comes from hearing God's word, and hearing comes from the Lord.

If it were a process, then it make Jesus out as a liar when he triumphantly cried on the cross, "It is finished". Otherwise, if what you say is true, then He and Karen Carpenter could sing as a duet, "We've Only Just Begun"
