Wait On Him For Marriage
How do you know that the one you are with is right for you when he or she seems to be focused on other things, but there is something in you which is an inner knowing that tells you to wait on this person because you can sense a preparation taking place and you just somehow know that he is the one?

I, too have that "inner knowing", and it's a comfort knowing that God is in control. My problem is patience and I am HORRIBLE at being patient. I believe God is using my impatience to teach ME to be patient and wait on Him. Instead of me (being the human I am), trying to direct everything in my time frame.

The inner knowing, If you belong to God, Is a knowing that you can depend on. So if you have that, wait.

Trust the Lord and help him out with prayers to be directed and focused to God's will.
Meanwhile, examine the fruits while not commiting yourself and maintaining the right level of intimacy which may allow you to depart if his focus changes not.

I believe that the answer to this question is simple. Those that are led of the Spirit are the sons of God. In a essence, if you feel that deep longing follow it, it wont steer you wrong.

So many people say you just "know" which is completely false. "For God said, I am the one true way, and to follow the path of thine heart will lead thine into the depths of hell." Cor. II 124:57. When put your faith in another HUMAN being and not GOD you are choosing a false path. If you seek Jesus' word he will guide you to happiness and maybe to love. I was blessed with two righteous man-swords. It is my penance to never find a love but i will always have Jesus' sweet salvation.

(1) "For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body." (Ephesians 5:23)
A Christian sister with sense can tell if God is making a man become her head, or NOT egg-zactly (-:}
As you personally relate with Jesus as your Groom, this will give you a feel for how His man for you will be relating with you, also. He will fit in with how Jesus is your Head > the one Jesus trusts so He is willing to share you with him, like this.

(2) "And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment." (Philippians 1:9)
In our Father's love, we have His knowledge and discernment of if and who to marry, "etc."
So, if you're not satisfied, this is all you need to know. Because God wants cheerful and willing and glad obedience to His will; so it is basic, if you love each other for God, that you make sure BOTH of you are satisfied...no steering or pushing.

(4) Yes, even pastors can arrange "things" to induce a marriage without the leading of the Holy Spirit.
What ARE those "other things" of interest to someone not interested in you? The person needs to be interested in loving all other people, learning to relate with ALL your Christian brothers and sisters...NOT get isolated with you > you need your whole Family...NOT favoritism (Matthew 5:46) with too many emotional eggs in just one basket.

If preperation is taking place come out of the picture and at least allow him to get to know God. Then you can make a more informed choice of whether you can marry him or not. Self had gotton in the way and all you will see is someone God has for you and all you have to do is wait for the finished products.
Wrong! Marriage is your decision measured against the word, wait for the manifestaion of the word being demonstrated in his walk with Christ, or REPENT at LEISURE!

It took five years before the Lord put my husband and I together to get married even though we ministered together and I knew he was the right one. He wanted to make sure it was God's will and God showed him in a way that he would know for sure.

I am in a similiar situation where this guy has proclaimed his love for me and wants marriage and I need to see some fruit. Listen to the Jesus in you. Never lean unto your own understanding. I'm waiting for the right time. Patience is the key fruit here. Don't give up on him just yet and continue to seek the Lord.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. That is what Jesus said. In the natural, you have no way of knowing anything about the outcome of this relationship with any certainty. Perhaps if you diligently spend time seeking God through reading your Bible, prayer and praise, you will find favor with God and the answer to your question as well. When I gave up, is when I found my mate. ha It is true.

Tapanga..What you may think may be right for you, may not be right for him.
Pray that if it is Gods will that God will give you and him, together a clear sign it is meant to be, if not. Immediately close the door, so that you will avoid waisting your precious time....on feelings that would evaporate over time, while his mind is focused on other things, and may be focused on someone else.

By seeking God for an answer. And waiting on the answer. If he is focused on other things besides marriage, he isn't ready to get married. If you feel in your heart that you should wait upon this man, and you love him enough to wait for marriage, then wait on him. Don't rush into marriage, and don't get married unless both of you are sure beyond a shadow of a doubt.
