Spirit Of Rebellion Rules

Why are so many filled with the spirit of rebellion? Today a pastor cannot speak against sin. Scripture clearly instructs those in the flock are to submit without question, or its the sin of rebellion. Leadership is now called "legalistic" by those who openly live in rebellion.

Why do you assume many are filled with the spirit of rebellion? How do you differentiate between ignorance and the spirit of rebellion?

Why do you make the flat statement that "Today a pastor cannot speak against sin"?. Most do.

Where does scripture clearly instruct those in the flock to submit without question? How is it determined who is called of God to preach? Christ said "Many shall come in my name" and preach false doctrine. Shall we submit to them without question? According to Acts, Paul was sent to "shut down" some churches for teaching false doctrine. Should their members have been submitting without question?

Those pastors seek to CONTROL their congregations. That is why they 'encourage' self abasement (Colossians 2:18 and 23). They are "hirelings" (John 10:13) and do not wish that you enter by "the door" (John 10:1). Take great care that you learn to love the OBJECTIVE "truth" (2 Thess. 2:10).

Look at some of these question and the replies to them...
It's Prophecy fulfilled, the falling away from Sound Doctrine and with Vain Imaginations they Perfer lies rather than the truth that can save them.

The Bible says that people will prefer lies to the truth to their own damnation. This is inferred by reading 2 Thess 2 and Galatians 3 and 6. And Matthew 7.15. The wolves are among the sheep and look like sheep and no longer should one trust another person but everyone should look to understanding God.

I would much prefer the discipline of a godly preacher to the lies and dissembling of the majority that call themselves priests or pastors today. Most of them have not bothered to educate themselves about the truth.

(This is the "other" ed)Sometimes the pastor attempts to "rule" out of the sin of pride in his own heart. I know a man who has "served" three churches, each given to him by the church hierarchy. One fired him and the other two split over his autocratic "rule." This seems a case of the Holy Spirit, through the churches, repudiating his "calling."

Is 30:9 this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD
10 Which say to the seers, See not; & to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak...smooth things, prophesy deceits:
11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

2 Tim 4:3 the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears

My kids are not 'boxed in' as much as the devil is locked out. I do not know what 'sheperding church' is. There is far too much compromise today with the world. One must 'stand firm' and not be a 'reed in the wind' as scripture says. We have a saying, "freedom from-not freedom to."
Our Godly wives are spirit bound, they teach our children humility and Christian virtues. Rebellion is considered a sin, as scripture clearly does teach I will not second guess scripture.

John, do you belong to a shepherding type of church. It sounds close to one, if it's not.
I read how strict you are with your kids, and that does alarm me, a little. I hope when they're out of your reach/headship, they don't rebel against the strictest of rules. I don't advocate the ways of the world, but it sounds like you've got them boxed in.

Wow, the more I read about dominating pastors, the more thankful I am for my own minister! He's the leader of us, but he does NOT RULE! We do things for him because we want to because we love God and love him.

John: What verse in Timothy's epistles are you trying to refer to?

I do not attend churches where preachers preach against sin. I attend a church where the preacher preaches Christ crucified, and His resurrection. I learn about growing in the Lord, not sin.

I do not submit blindly. The Holy Spirit must help me discern that the preacher's words are of Him.

Secular people have no respect for authority, and Christians have little respect for authority. Pastors will have to give an accounting for you, and its the flocks responsibility to submit to that authority that has been given to church leaders, your submission is to be given without reservation, or question. Read Tim;1,3

These are the end times so people are rebellious and heap to themselves teachers preaching false doctrine which tickle their ears. These are lovers of self/money,proud,unloving etc. The pastors are at fault too. They should not cow tow to a false flock. Preach the truth or they are guilty as well. They become ear ticklers desiring the approval of man and not God. Money and numbers of members is the motivation.

So many believers have been wounded by many so called pastors and leaders in the church. We get slapped in the face, stiffed for our money and receive very little in return. You would be in rebellion or disillusioned, as well. No disrespect intended but a lot of this is going on. A lot of sin has entered the true church, unsaved people put over God's saved people, that does untold damage. Somebody give $1,000 and the pastor let them almost take over the church. Now you get it!

Satan works through drugs which cause rebellion and many other horrible things. The problem today is that they beleive themselves to be superior or that they have conquered the holy...They are in for a surprize...God will avenge his Saint's.

We are living in the last days, Rebellion, Disrespect, lawlessness, haters of good, preferring evil. These days are here to stay. I do not know of a scripture any where that says to SUBMIT with emptyheadedness, we are to try the spirits, Not every Tom, Dick, and Harry, who's up on the pulpit has there head on straight either, and is in need of more help then his own congregation, and I am one who is opposed to comunist legalism in Christian churches.

Great answer, Betty; I hope he thinks about it and listens to you. God bless you sister. :)

Many Pastors don't want to preach on sin and let the word step on people's toes. Because they're afraid the congragation will stop paying their wages. Some preachers preach on what people wants to hear, tickle their fancy if you will. they don't want to make anyone mad or hurt their feelings if preached on sin. If a Pastor isn't going to preach on ALL of God's word, he shouldn't preach at all. You either take the bible as it is, or not at all.
---Rebecca_D on 5/24/07

Only submit to God without question. There are far too many fakes in the church to submit to leaders without question. Stay out of strife and go to God if you are in doubt as to the leadership. Rebellion, God hates. It is a sign of pride. You can also leave the issues to God, if unfairness occures. It is always a tough call!

Some pastors will not preach aginst sin because of a flock that has a spirit of rebellion towards the word and will leave if he does. Others don't because they may have a spirit of rebellion against the word that tells them to preach the truth even if people walk away. No flock, no tithes and he must get a job. Rebellion against working if one must work to finance his ministry himself and shepherd a flock.

The fool follows a path which seems wise to him, but it leads to destruction. Rebellious attitudes in general will continue to increase in society as God's absolutes are replaced by man's moral relativity. The classic moral relativist's rebuttal is "That's just your opinion." Maybe so, but God just happens to agree with it.
---Anthony on 5/24/07

The Bible does not teach to submit without question. We are to try the spirits, we are to read our Bible and be sure that we are not being led astray. And we are to pray and seek the wisdom and guidance of the HS. What you are suggesting leads to cultic activity and is not safe.
