What Is God's Kingdom

Jesus says, "'But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.'" (Matthew 6:33) What is God's kingdom? Does Jesus mean for us to experience God's own kingdom, now?

You need to take Matthew 6:25-34 in context to understand it. Christ is speaking against the folly of worrying for a committed Christian. There are greater sins but worry is the most debilitating. Christ tells us not to have anxiety about things to come; you are under the full protection of the Sheppard. This not only gives you peace but power. Just follow the preordained plan that the God the Father has for you.

God's Kingdom are the called out and true followers of Christ. The one true church of God. Kingdom is what Christ has established in Heaven and on Earth.. When we are doing Kingdom Work we are doing the work that Christ did. Feeding the hungry and helping the poor in the thousand of myriad ways that we can. We are a part of that Kingdom when we get born again. We are in the world(satan's kingdom) but have no part in it.

If I have a problem with somebody . . . instead of getting mad and nasty at them and upset and criticizing, I need to FIRST seek the kingdom of God for about them, more than I am concerned about my reputation or social opportunities or whatever.

Yes, I can be vain. So, I need to be warned, Jackie, and reminded. And effective PREVENTIVE warning, of course, is better than me needing to be CORRECTIVELY warned after I'm in a wrong way of reacting.

Also do not forget that there is no kingdom without people, and that no person can be called a king without having subjects! So also seek to build the kingdom of God by winning souls to this kingdom, to Christ. Read Matthew 6:33 together with Matthew 28:19-20.

I am glad you asked that - Jesus was referring to the American and Western cultural society in particuar, where many people are more often preoccupied with things and materialism, than with God and His interests. He was telling them to think more about the things of God that last beyond this life time. I hope you are not one of such people the Lord was warning!

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit

"What is God's kingdom?"

The Fathers' kingdom is the reign of His Spirit within us as we are empowered to yield, submit, & confidently manifest that reign.

"Does Jesus mean for us to experience God's own kingdom, now?"

Yes as we are enabled to perceive, recognize & acknowledge His presence & allow His presence to be made clearly apparent thru us.

It means to seek God's world by all means possible. By your lifestyle, study, prayer, worship, ministry to others general relationship and loyality to Jesus Christ and disengagement with the world, is seeking the Kingdom of God which is here now in power for His glory. Adding THINGS means that He will meet your needs and even hearts desires.

To seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness is to come to a knowledge of your positional relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Our position is, we have been maybe acceptable in the beloved(the Lord Jesus Christ) so when we accept him our positional relationship is firmly established!!! Oh thank you Jesus thank you.

thank you, thank you, thank you so much . . .

So, this means to stop worrying, but also what to do, instead > seek God's kingdom FIRST > God's realm, of how God is in LOVE. We share with Him, by loving like He does > "as He is, so are we in this world." (in 1 John 4:17)

It's like if your little girl has a cold hand; you take HOLD of that poor little hand, in order to warm it up; then, once it is warm like yours, her hand can feel what your hand is feeling.

the kingdom is Gods Word & his message, there will be a physical kingdom established again when the new earth is made.We need to start learning now what it is, so we know when we arrive.

I agree with phil the elder and would like to add that seeking God's Kingdom I believe means to seek for His love, joy, peace, mercy and grace to be in your life and at work in your life towards others. It all boils down to love, Whom God is. Seek after God, seek after love.

Kingdom means " the King's domain".

Kingdom in this means God's way of doing & being.
