Very very important but we do need a balance. The word of God should be preached and taught to the masses first. Then we should be able to reach out and put that word and teaching in place through Outreach and other ministries. I feel this is the order God would be pleased with. We cannot do a thing if we have not been taught and made aware of it.

If your going to preach tithing, then they'd better preach the "2nd tithe too."

Obviously King Jesus Christ wants us to take care of the poor and needy-Matthew 25. He reminds Israel, just as God did in OT-obediance is better than sacrifice. Take care of the needy before you praise Him. That is love and faith.

It is very important to me. My church runs one of the county's largest food banks and this give us the opportunity to reach many lost people for Christ.

We should all be helping our brothers in need within the church, and also extending help to those outside of it, whether through an organized ministry or individual acts of love. That is what a Christian does. it shouldn't even be a question, but engrained within us to do these things. Without love, what purpose do we the church serve? I have my personal opinions on tithing to the church, but I do it unto the Lord, and let him work the rest out.

Although a giving church is important, what is more important is that the church is teaching the truth of the Word of God. There are lots of churches who masquerade as social services agencies. They don't teach the truth of the Bible so they can be more acceptable to the world.

Very important to me. I almost became a Baptist one time because they do a lot of outreach work to the poor. They always give food, clothes, help in many ways to the communities in which they are located. My church does some outreach but mostly holidays. Toys for the kids and feedings during Thanksgiving. Also clothes distribution during Thanksgiving. Every other Saturday we pass invitations in the neighborhood, inviting persons to the church. That's about it. I would like to see more done.

The church we attend is a giving church. In fact, there are several churches in our area who are giving churches. Since we live near Mexico, there are numerous churches who will take our donated food and clothing into Mexico. We always look for a church that has a giving heart when we move to a new town.

There has been times where I have wondered why we sit in church week in week out without one single example of giving of service rather that the giving of money to help the poor, one parent families, lost est in a positive and proactive way. I must admit my service has not been as it was to begin with especially when you watch the youth suffer and leave, eventually the ship had been abandoned by some of the most loyal families, it bleeds my heart to watch, I'm still praying for a heart to go back?

When I say watch I don't mean sit and do nothing, before the ignorant get on the bandwagon! I suffered from poor health and still recovering from the consequences but my heart knows it takes closing your eyes to the ignorance and working with a heart on the task in hand. I'm nearly there, I believe and receive, not receive before I believe, everything is as the Lord permits and gives me strength which he is doing.
