Sorry,so very sorry! Demons do not discriminate in whom they inhabit. It is generational sins that bring FAMilar evil spirits into the children unto the third and fourth generation of those that have hated God.See Lev. 26:40 And BELIEVERS have AUTHORITY to cast the demons out!
---Danelle on 5/12/09

lisa- No. Babies cannot have demons. God protects them - they are innocent.

For those who have the same problem Sue had- Your house may have demons that upset the child. You should ask for the Holy Spirit, keep on asking for Him until He comes and talks to you. He can help you about that problem.

I had one in my house last month, I am a christian. He blew in my nose and mouth he touched me he grabbed my foot he scratched on the bed under my ear while lying on it. I finally had all I could take and finally believed I said,In the Name Of the father, the name of the Son and the Name of the Holy Spirit be gone, go back to where you belong. I said I am sealed with the blood of Jesus and my house is sealed by the blood of Jesus! and he was gone. If you are a christian and believe in Jesus and the blood work you can do it. Let me know if you do. they are scared of Jesus and just hearing his name. Love in Christ Janice

Did Jesus Christ or an angel appear at any time in your home?

Can a demon be passed down to the child from the mother?
---lisa on 6/12/08

New born babies are under a curse that will only affect them when they start to make decisions for themselves. That is when learning about Jesus is important. Say around the age of eight. Before that they come under the sanctification of their parents. Just like an unsaved spouse is sanctified by the saved spouse. When we die the saved spouse can speak on behalf of the unsaved. That is why it is good to give a prophet a cup of water, so to speak. Cont....

Jesus held children in great esteem. He said Let them come to me, for to such belongs the Kingdom of Heaven. Unquote. He also said Unless we are like one of these we will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I could go on and on, Chapter 6 of Matthew shows us we must be dependant on God like children, not worried about tomorrow. Trusting is a childlike quality which God demands of us.
---frances008 on 6/11/08

Fast , pray and command them leave in Jesus' name ! Get all things which represent evil out of your home also. Praise God all day long . Play reverent worship music in your home all day even low volume. Let the devil know he is NOT welcomed in your home! Pray over everything in your house, every room asking God to bless and cleanse every room in your home from any sins that may have been committed in these areas.Pray for God to rebuke Satan and guard your home and family from him everyday and night!
---Gail on 6/11/08

Fill yourself and your house with the Word of God. Switch off all the openings to the devil, like the Television, rock music, advertising screeming out all day long. Silence broken by only what is necessary to communicate to each other, and the Word of God read ALOUD and REGULARLY. That way the devil cannot take a ride on some vehicle and pollute your home environment.

---Holly4jc on 5/15/08
That puts all new born babies and most children as children of the devil? Emcee, you jest. You both rather judge a man for what he says he is. Would you not be just if you instead judged a man for what he is?

Caring - thank you for your accurate statements about Buddism. I practiced it for a number years. My instructing monk gave me perhaps the best description, Buddism is an opperating system that can be plugged into any thought or religion system. It does not teach truth, but how to find truth, and once found must be followed wherever it leads. I often wish 'christians' would follow the same path once they find the truth.
---dan on 5/15/08

Caring, as you said..IF one day they accept Christ. The point is...they have not accepted Christ and they are not of God and if not of God, then the devil is their father. And if they did accept Christ, then they would follow the Bible, not their own religious teachings or philosophy as you call it. You are the first person I have ever met who says Buddism is not a religion, but a philosophy. Some say that about Christianity too. If their teachings are so appealing to you, then why are you not a Buddist?
---Holly4jc on 5/15/08

Holly, Buddhism is not a religion but it's a philosophy. Read their books and you'll find out that nothing in there contradicts what Christ has taught.

If one day they'll accept Christ, they'd be the best religion on earth because there philosophy is built on love, helping others and do good to others.
---Caring on 5/15/08 might not classify them as demonic, but Jesus said, if you're not for me, you're against me and Buddhists (who are practicing a false religion) are NOT FOR Jesus...therefore they are against Him and belong to the devil and all their props are of the devil. There are only two sides, the side of God and the side of the enemy (Satan). There is no in-between. As the Bible says in Joshua, "Choose this day whom you will follow, as for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord."

Holly4JC stated: "Caring...most cults give the outward appearance of being extremely loving and peaceful, that is what draws people to them."

Holly, I have experienced such attitude from supposedly 2 Evangelical Pastors but I've never experienced such attitudes from my Buddhist friends.

You may call them ignorants of Christ but will definitely not classify them as demonic.
---Caring on 5/14/08

Caring...most cults give the outward appearance of being extremely loving and peaceful, that is what draws people to them. But true love/peace only comes from Christ. Satan does immitate God to deceive people. And having items in your home associated with false beliefs, religions, doctrines or cults is allowing the enemy in your home and will usually show up in the form of demonic activity or oppression. The Bible warns us about bringing accursed items into our home. Read up on it.
---Holly4jc on 5/14/08

Holly4JC said amongst other: "them out. Examples: statues of Buddah, pyramids, American Indian dreamcatche"

Don't be too sure that these objects are causing anything. I visited some Buddhists friends who have Buddha and there house is more peaceful than most of their Christian houses and even churches I've seen.

They speak about love and serenity and are always smiling. The demons the poster has are all in her head.

---Me on 5/13/08

You should also pray and ask the Lord if there are any objects in your home that you need to get rid of. Certain objects bring in demonic forces and allow them to legally stay in your home no matter how much you fast, pray or cast them out. Examples: statues of Buddah, pyramids, American Indian dreamcatchers, books on the occult and so on. If you pray and ask God, He will show you as you go through your house. Just be willing to let go of whatever He shows you. :-)

Jesus is a last resort for many, it's off to the pharmacy for a closet full of meds. Medicated demons, I'm not sure how much of the medication that a demon can absorb from it's host. How much nicotene, alcohol can a demon absorb, not sure, but they do control their host's urges to overdo every substance that will cause harm.

Gluttony demon will motivate it's host to eat themselves into an early grave.
When you see someone as big as the house, have to tear the wall out to get the crane in - that's a gluttony demon. Gluttony - food and drink. Even a gastric bypass won't stop a demon of gluttony.

I would not discourage you from dealing with evil spirits but do agree that you might want to take your daughter for an evaluation performed by a qualified Christian therapist/psychologist/counselor. Does she believe that she is demonized? How old is she?
---jody on 5/9/08

There is only one thing to be done. Go to a bible believing pastor who has a church which is full of bible believers. Ring them up if you like. Tell them to come over and talk to you. They need all the details. A few people praying for you at the appropriate times and the devil will have to go away.

Judas opened his heart to evil by his greed - John 12:6. If someone allows their heart to be ruled by some habitual becomes an invitation for a demon to enter in. Demon possession is related to the worship of heathen idols and possession of occult materials. Scripture relates idol worship with worship of demons (Leviticus 17:7, Deuteronomy 32:17, Psalm 106:37, 1 Corinthians 10:20), involvement with those religions and practices lead to demon possession.

Demon possession, physical impairment that cannot be attributed to a physiological problem, personality changes, major depression or uncharacteristic aggression, supernatural strength, a disregard for modesty or normal social interaction, and the ability to share information that one has no natural way of knowing... All of these characteristics may have other explanations, so it is important not to label every depressed person or epileptic individual as demon possessed, but demons exist.
---princess on 5/9/08

In Acts 16:16-18 the demonic spirit gives a slave girl some ability to know things beyond her own learning. In the case of the demoniac of the Gadarenes who was possessed by a multitude of demons, he had superhuman strength, went around naked, and lived among the tombstones. King Saul, after rebelling against the LORD, was allowed to be troubled by an evil spirit (1 Samuel 16:14-15, 18:10-11, 19:9-10) with the apparent effect of a depressed mood and an increased desire and readiness to kill David.

I don't know if you are still looking for answers. I would like to respond. You feel there is something within the house? You should get a pastor to come cleanse and bless your home. Not just any pastor. It needs to be a pastor who is spiritually in tune with God, a penticostal preacher willing to come and wage war on demons. All living in the house needs to participate. Clease the home of all ungodly things and then bless the home. The pastor will know what to do if there is actual possession involved.

I am wondering if the original poster, "Sue" is still here? If so, is your daughter doing okay? I agree with the poster who says it may just be a "human" thing, not a demon. Especially if your daughter is a teenager!
---sue on 11/29/07

For goodness sake, TALK to your daughter! Odds are, if she's acting weird, it's because some HUMAN is doing things to her, not a demon!

If no one is harming her, take her for a psychological evaluation. There are many natural causes of odd behavior and an evaluation could tell if it is one of them.

You don't want to assume it's demons when it could be a brain malfunction--God forbid any parent would overlook a child's brain tumor thinking it was demon possession!
---Nancy on 11/28/07

I have this problem too. The demons tell me to do things. This is usually at night. I know these things are wrong. So I pray sometimes for hours. This almost always works.
---matthew on 7/27/07

Good question Rebecca...this event happened very late at night, maybe midnight or 1 am. It was when I woke up in the AM and realized what I had done and what an idiot I was, I immediately repented. That's when the conviction really hit me and believe me, it was a horrible, horrible feeling. I could hardly stand myself. I thank God for His forgiveness and for giving me the strength to walk away from participating ever again in that kind of behavior (it's been 11 years now since that happened).

1) I wrote this answer on another blog, but it's worth repeating: Take the time and go through your books and other things and ask God to show you what is not glorifying to Him...what would He want you to get rid of? And then be obedient and throw it out or burn it if possible!!! After I got saved, God started pointing out all kinds of things I had, anything from American Indian artifacts to c/d's, astrology books, even certain little knik-knaks such as little buddah's, etc.
---Holly4jc on 7/14/07

Part 2) The Lord would not allow me to sleep until I would get up (sometimes at 3 am) and throw out what He was pointing out to me. You would be amazed at how the spiritual climate in my home would change from getting rid of those "accursed" items. Of course, after you discard them you should anoint your home with oil and pray over it. But believe me, you will experience a definite change in the spirit realm, since you are no longer in possession of items are an open the door to the enemy.

Part 3) Oh more thing...just so you know, I tried to argue with God about the financial cost of the items I was throwing away, "but Lord, do you know how much I paid for that piece of Indian artwork? And it would be kinda rude to throw someone's artwork in the trash, wouldn't it?". Well, none of my arguments won, God did not care about any of that, but I am sure glad He won because the PEACE of not having those things in your home is "priceless"!
---Holly4jc on 7/14/07

My experience: I had been getting attacked by demons in my home when I first got saved. I cleansed my home, got rid of all God told me to, prayed over/anointed my home. No problem..demons gone..but then I had an ex-boyfriend over and had sex...well guess what...demons back! Had to anoint and pray over the home once again and boy did I learn my lesson! Open doors of sin brings demonic forces in with them, I experienced it first hand! But I'm glad I saw a living example of it, I'll never ever forget it!
---Holly4jc on 7/14/07

I really don't care if evil spirits are in my house, I think we would all be surpized of the thing we could see if we could see into the supernatural realm as well as we see into the physical realm. If I could see an evil spirit I wouldn't tremble but if an evil Spirit could see me it would tremble because of the spirit of Christ that lives in me.

I have never had demons in my house, and I hope that I never do. I do keep blessed objects in my house, and here I do use holy water to bless my doors. All this would be useless if I did not also pray and seek Heavenly assistance in keeping my Home safe. I put my faith in Jesus for this purpose. It is because of Him that the blessings and Holy Water work for they are done in His name.

You might also put anointing oil on the door post of each room or anywhere else the Lord might lead you to. Playing anointed praise and worship music also will remove the demons as they cannot stay where the presence of the Lord is and He says He dwells in the praise of His people. Also speak out loud to the demons and remind them that the Blood of Jesus is against them and breaks their hold.
Ask God to feel the empty places with His Holy Spirit for when the demons leave they leave a void.

Hi Sue; my 2 cents worth is a little different but I'll go ahead and say: perhaps (and I don't know, obviously) your daughters' behavior is just normal rebellion or onriness? I totally agree with J R. I was Catholic ,Big time idolatry there, God's Spirit cannot fully manifest because of all the unbelief. Not believing that Jesus came to save us with no strings attached. There's nothing we can do to be saved, but believe in Him. The RCC is full of idols, and other external means, to try and reach God. I have seen my own wife get healed in a small humble church, were she could not, in one of the largest Catholic Churches. RCC looks good outside, but spiritually it's sick.

There is no Catholic fix. I was a Catholic and now I am Born Again. How fitting and so ironic that the Biggest church in the world is the one with the least power in the realm that counts. God's spiritual realm.
Moderator is right. Fast, pray and command them to go in the name of Jesus.
---betty on 7/3/07

JR, I don't follow your logic. What lies does the church tell? What you are insinuating is that the church cannot exorcise demons because it is evil. Thus, the devotion to Christ, efforts to rid demons in Christ's name is a facade. Your"subtle but important" point says more about Catholocism than it does about your religion. You have proven the Catholic argument, your use of scripture is misapplied.
---Tony on 7/2/07

The reason that there is no Catholic fix, is because like Jesus said, " A house divided against itself, cannot stand". Thus the Catholic Church which I used to belong to for many years. Truth and lies are mixed, so God's power cannot really be effective there. If you get this simple but profound concept, you are on the road to the truth of who Jesus really is and why He came to save us.

Ashley there is more to it than that. Because Jesus said the only way to get rid of such demons is by prayer and fasting. Remember those men came upon a man filled with demons? They saw Jesus cast out demons so they thought they would do the same. One demon leaped on one of the men, and they got scared and ran. Acts 19:13-16. Those demons said to these men, Paul I know, Jesus I know but who are you? It isn't as simple as you claim.
---Rebecca_D on 7/1/07

Gail: Spirits could have been cast out at any time in the name of Jesus Christ. I chose not to. Besides, I appreciated having a spirit in the home that warned us of danger. For many self righteous hypocrites here, they would have overreacted. demons have been cast out that meant to harm others and everyone heard their wails and screams. Can you say the same or are you just trying to provoke an argument again as usual. I no longer look for an answer from you. You avoid every question like the plague.
---ashley on 7/2/07

As usual, many make a big to do over a simple act. if you hold the same priesthood that Jesus Christ held, you just say In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to leave and the demons must leave. They don't have a choice. Yes I have heard their screams as they left not happy, but they left a minute later. Everyone in the whole block heard them. That is the difference between someone holding God's priesthood and pretenders that think they hold it. one minute opposed to many days.
---ashley on 7/2/07

---Gail on 7/1/07

1. I guess I need to clarify again that scripture justifies and the RCC believes that any person can cast demons out in the name of Jesus. However, for severe demonic cases an exorcist(priest) is called in for often several days, weeks of fasting and prayer to rid of the demon (always in the name of Jesus).
---Tony on 7/1/07

2. Elroy admits that some cases cause more fasting prayers than other. (i.e. repeatedly asking the demon to leave in the name of Jesus). This may take several attempts, and ultimately the demon must leave in Jesus' name through the power of the spirit. But, that doesn't mean it doesn't go wihout a fight.
---Tony on 7/1/07

3. So, my original point and follow was more in respone to the comment that the RCC doesn't teach authority over demons, not to state this was the only way of exorcising them. The Rite of Exorcism is the formal process, which I believe is indicative of the seriousness the church takes about Satan in our world.

Why does everyone say that you have to go through a long winded ritual to cast out a demon. Did Jesus say some long speech, or did he just say: Get thee hence Satan. Satan or his angels have to do what is commanded of them if it is said in the name of Jesus Christ. Moses said Satan, leave and he had to on the mount. It is the vanities of man that think they have to invent long prayers or elaborate ways to cast out devils. When in fact a simple In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to leave will suffice.
---ashley on 6/30/07

Tony - My head spins. I can imagine when the "priest/s" say those words or similar ones that the devil stands there laughing. Seriously, none of that is in Scripture. Jesus commanded the demons to be silent. Jesus also says that "in My name" (Jesus' name) you will cast out demons. Scripture nowhere says to converse with the demons. They are already defeated on the Cross and have to come out at the name of Jesus.

We are to submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee.

Mark 1:39
Acts 10:30

If all areas have not been dealt with, it will cause a hindering to a total deliverance.
Don't let satan find any place in the one being delivered.
