Raine, thank you,I am always grateful for good wishes and prayer. I shall continue to pray for your Mom,I do believe her age is on her side, that she will heal quicker than someone older.Ya'll have a safe trip and good checkup,God go with you. It's so good for women to take an interest in their appearence. I always tell Mom I hope I look as good as she when I'm 89,but ha ha I don't look that good now.
---Darlene_1 on 8/1/07

My mother, same way. Her mother never left the house without a hat to match her dress, earrings, necklace... My grandmother dressed up to go to the grocery store. Mother is always fixed up cute as a bug. I'm taking her back for a followup appt next week, it's in the next state. My parents birthday today. Your prayers meant alot to me Darlene, May God Bless your health, too.
---Raine on 7/31/07

Raine,my Mom is very fixxy-uppy,never without makeup, always wears a dress or skirt and blouse, and although she has white hair she doesn't color it,especially not pink, ha ha,but you're so right that perm is very important to her.I think thats good, keeps them young. Thanks for wishes about my health,I thank God all the time I'm no worse off than I am. God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 7/31/07

I hope you're doing well, Darlene.
Mothers do love perms, don't they?
When my mom goes for one, I call it the **fizzbomb** treatment. She doesn't have gray hair naturally, so as long as she doesn't opt for the pink or blue tint, it's alright.
---Raine on 7/30/07

Madison, thats just wonderful. It doesn't get much better in this world than being a grandmother. I was going to be a Psychologist, get my PSYD, which would have required me to to be 60 miles away from my new grandson. I decided it was more important to me to be a good grandmother than to counsel. That grandson is 26 now,his sister 23 and I know ,for me,that was the most important job I could have been involved with. Raine happy birthday to your parents. Family is the best gift we have.
---Darlene_1 on 7/30/07

Madison, that's great. We both have babies that are on the gain. Sophie has gained 4 lbs, she weighs 16 lbs now.
I'm sure your baby is cuter than mine.
---Raine on 7/30/07

My granddaughter and her parents are in town. Yippeeee. We had a birthday dinner for my daughter and my future daughter-in-law tonight, and I got to play with Isabel. She has grown so much. I had to share her with my sister, sister-in-law and her new Aunt Casey, soon to be my daughter-in-law. Isabel is now 6 weeks old and weighs about 9 pounds. She has gained almost 2 pounds so far. She is absolutely gorgeous, and I could just hold her forever.
---Madison1101 on 7/29/07

My parents share the same birthday, last day of July. I'm planning a halibut fish feast, heart healthy. Sophie, the wonder dog, loves mother. The only time she lays still is for my mother, on her lap.
Mother came over for more leafy lettuce. Sophie was tearing at it as fast as I could cut it. She is a cute pill, when I scolded her and bent back down, she nipped me on the rear. I am far removed from a dog training school, or a dog whisperer. Sophie totally redeems herself when she behaves.
---Raine on 7/29/07

Raine, you are so right 60 is young,I'm 68,it's too young to start having major problems.I am so happy to hear your Mom is home,Glory to God. I just pray her recovery is as great as my Mom's has been after all she went through.Mom drove herself to the Beauty Shop this week to get a perm. I pray when she does drive but won't deter her from anything she feels she can do. God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 7/27/07

Alan and Madison,at last I have my appointment for carpal tunnel surgery ,they won't remove the ganglian cyst on my wrist because it will come back but will drain it with a needle, all this takes place finally on September the 6th. It is really fast surgery, local anesthetic, and done in less than 3o min..Nothing happens very fast in our area, they only have two doctors who do this procedure. I won't be able to use that hand,my right one-I'm right handed, for 3 weeks so thats not bad.
---Darlene_1 on 7/27/07

My mother is home and recovering. Thanks for your prayers. I tell her that Sophie is her therapy dog. I take her over for short visits, as she is so wild.
I gave her a bath outside in a tub, wrapped her up in a towel, held her like a little baby. After she was fluffed and sweet smelling, she went and rolled in the grass, then rolled in the dirt. I watched and thought you go right ahead little sister.
---Raine on 7/26/07

Sophie has torn up the garden, squash is obliterated. She makes a flyby and grabs a lettuce leaf. My herbs are all gone. I fed her some freshly cooked green beans, she likes vegetables. She's still throwing all of her weight against me with all fours when I turn my back, trying to leave the fenced yard. If I don't pay attention, she gives me a slight nip on my ankles or back of my arms. Endless No No's are worthless. She's alpha dog and I'm beta in her pack. So bratty, so smart, and so cute.
---Raine on 7/27/07

Madison, how's grand Isabel doing?
---augua9846 on 7/17/07

God Bless You, too, Madison.
---Raine on 7/17/07

May God answer all of my friends prayers on CN and send his healing power to all who are sick. Madison: wow! What a way to wake up! Hope everything is under control now!

NV_Barb, If your brother has a hospital acquired staph infection I suspect it's MRSA. MRSA is a superbug that is resistant to most antibiotics. I have lived the MRSA nightmare with both of my children. My daughter had a really bad case about a year ago, and when I discovered it usually comes back (I've learned that this is VERY true) I started doing alot of research and found a treatment that works every single time: Turmeric. A simple spice. I cannot recommend this stuff highly enough.

Raine: I am praying for your Mom's healing.

Barb: I continue to pray for your brother, and your family.

My kitchen ceiling was replaced yesterday. My apartment is a mess with stuff from my coat closet in my living room because the carpet in there got soaked. Pray for me to have patience.
---Madison1101 on 7/17/07

Hi all, I'm still in S.C., using a friend's PC.
My brother is 'some' better in a couple of ways, at least his bloodclot is getting smaller, however NOW he has a Staph infection in his chest area, he remains in the hospital. Its a very busy time here, and tiring! I pray for all my CN bros and sisters daily. God bless you, I'll be home somtime in Aug. Hugs..
---NV_Barbara on 7/16/07

Darlene, I appreciate you. My mom is young to me, 60's. She's always been a walker, no smoker, not overweight. But she stresses over my Dad's health and far too many little details. They've really been talking to her about destressing her life. She absolutely has to change. 47% of women do not make it through, and she did. It was God's grace. I did not know that she was in surgery while I was on the road, it's probably best.

It took hours to get her there, pain was shooting down her right arm as they entered the city limits. I thank God she's alive.
Symptoms for women are often not the same as for men.
Mom had jaw pain, mouth dry as cotton and pain across the middle of her back. No real chest pain. If you have pain in your jaw, go to the hospital. Do not let it go. My mother drove herself intially to our small hospital, thought her blood pressure was high. She was having a heart attack and did not know it.
---Raine on 7/15/07

Greetings. I woke up this morning to a disaster in my apartment. My toilet on the second floor leaked and caused the ceiling on the first floor to cave in and flood the carpeting in my living room and dining room. Maintenance has been wonderful in getting it cleaned up and dried. I am exhausted, and my apartment looks like a tornado ripped through it right now.
---Madison1101 on 7/15/07

Raine, that is such good news that God brought her through the attack and surgery. I'll keep praying. My Mom is 89 and she suffered two strokes about three years ago but has recovered, also had a heart procedure last year which stopped chest pains,so I know how you feel,God is good. Madison, still praying for yours too.
---Darlene_1 on 7/14/07

For those who prayed for my Mom, may the Lord bless you. They rushed my mother into surgery immediately before I made it to the hospital. She did have a heart attack. They kept her stable on nitro in the ambulance. As they made it into the city, pain was shooting down her right arm. They saved her life from another heart attack. I thank God she is alive today. She's been in ICU. Thanks again.

Please continue to lift Bob and Ruth up to the Lord. Today, the doctors said we need to pray for his kidneys and liver, as when his heart stopped all those times, the blood did not get to these organs, and he may need to be on dialysis either temporarily or for the rest of his life. They also do not know if there is any brain damage at this time, as he still has a breathing tube in and cannot speak. Tonight he has a fever, so they are watching for infection.
---Madison1101 on 7/11/07

Prayer emergency update: Please pray, they've taken my mom to another state for heart specialist. I'm headed out in my car to hospital, will take me hours to get there. Please pray for her. Thank you.
---Raine on 7/11/07

My prayers are with you all who have family and friends who are in need of God's touch.

Prayer Emergency:
They've taken my mother to intensive care, she had pain in her jaw and blood pressure sky high. Please pray for Virginia. She's a tiny woman, in her 60's. I'm headed for the hospital, pray for my mother, I love her dearly. Thanks so much.

Urgent Prayer is needed for my friend, Ruth's husband Bob. He had been treated for blood clots in his lungs and coronary arteries already in the past month. Today he was rushed to the hospital and he flatlined twice. They did open heart and found a clot the size of a grapefruit in his artery. Doctors say he should be dead. He is still not out of the woods. Pray for all involved. Ruth has breast cancer herself. Both love the Lord.

Raine: My daughter's Jack Russell kept trying to climb in my lap while I was visiting her a few weeks ago. I have a photo of my son-in-law holding my newborn granddaughter, playing X-Box, with the dog on his lap. He is a 21st century dad, multi-tasking. LOL

With your puppy's penchant for being high up, he may have some cat in him. My cats love to perch on high places.
---Madison1101 on 7/9/07

This puppy is so smart. She pulls her padded cushion from the bottom of her doghouse up into a lawn chair, climbs up and takes a long snooze. She also brings her toys out and puts them in the chair. When everything is arranged just so, she lays her little head on one for a pillow. She has also tugged the cushion over to an old tree stump in the yard, crawls up there, too. She likes being able to see above ground level with comfort. It is entertaining.
---Raine on 7/9/07

Raine: LOL. That is hysterical. My mom's puppy is a trip too. He walked across my chest when I was sitting on the couch. I was sitting upright, and he just climbed up the couch and walked across me, like I was part of the couch. Enjoy the puppy. Like I said, my daughter took her Jack Russell to puppy boot camp.

Sophie ate all the tops off of my lettuce leaves in my garden. My mother comes over for her lettuce, when I handed her a bag, I said, 'sorry, Mom, Sophie's teeth marks are on there, better go home and throw it in your washer and dryer.' She laughed, and I said I mean it, I won't eat it with puppy breath on it.
She went home, made a BLT, and told me she washed it well. I laughed so hard. I know why dogs are man's best friend. You feel better when they are around. They make you laugh and smile.
---Raine on 7/8/07

Rebecca: I am so sorry that you are going through this with your kidneys and the cyst. I will pray for you as you endure. Read 2 Corinthians, that helps me in times like this. Hugs, Madison
---Madison1101 on 7/8/07

Rebecca...Welcome to aging!!!! I'll be praying for you.
---Susie on 7/7/07

I seen my Dr Friday. I had some x-rays and CT scans done. Both show that I have multiple stones in my left kidney, and several in my left uter tube. The CT scan showed that I have a medium size cyst on my left ovary. It seems like when it rains it pours. I am so tired of going through this. Before January 2006, I very seldom went to the Dr for anything. Now, it's like home away from home. It is discouraging.

I saw my surgeon today. He says I need surgery, but it can wait until I get my plastic surgery after I reach my goal weight. Please, please, please pray I experience little discomfort for the next 12 months, as I cannot get that surgery till next summer.

Hi all. Happy, late, Independence Day to all the Americans here. I spent it working at the hospital, helping psychiatric patients gain a little "emotional independence."

I am starting to experience some discomfort from my hernia and would appreciate prayer as I see the surgeon on Friday concerning it.

Please pray for the flood victims in Kansas and Oklahoma. Miami, Oklahoma is where I grew up and they are having the second worst flood in history. If it doesn't stop pretty quick it will be the worst in history.
---Susie on 7/3/07

My baby dog, Sophie, has finally stopped leaping into my arms at a dead run. I'm working with her. The barking is calming down; she likes to shade up under my big tree and take a long snooze. She sleeps at the foot of my bed and likes it when I twirl my feet in circles. I sing her baby songs so she will nod off. Ridiculous, is it not.
She could be around for a long time, might as well have some fun with it.

Ugh Madison! I had 2 hernias and had a 'sling' surgery about 6 years ago. Its about like having a hyterectomy as far as healing time. I also had a 'sling' surgery for my bladder! ONE more sling and I think I can join the "Flying Wallendas!"
You'll be in my prayers Sis, its no fun! God bless you.

Hi there everyone. I have to contact my surgeon, as it looks like I have a hernia. Not sure, but seems the only explanation for my situation. I would appreciate your prayers for the doc to have wisdom in diagnosing.

Barb: Thanks. I knew that my daughter and her husband would bring me a gorgeous grandchild. Look at her gene pool.

My weight loss is stuck at 84 pounds so far. I need to get back to the gym and workout with the weights. I have been crazy busy, or away and not able to do that for weeks.

ALL of you looked good! What's the weight loss up to now, you're looking great! Colleen and her husband are so attractive, no wonder the baby is such a doll! God has smiled on them, and you and G'Grandma too!

Barb: Sorry to rub it in. I sent you a link for a photoshow. I am gaga over this kid and want the world to know how blessed my family is in her new life.

I had a great weekend working at the hospital. We had wonderful weather, and I was able to take most of the patients outside for fresh air and exercise. It was neat to see them enjoying themselves.
