It means we should be anticipating Jesus return every day, every hour, every minute, every second, in a twinkling of an eye.

Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts -mind and focus- become burdened by intoxicating influences and distracting cares of this life, so that day comes upon you unawares. Watch therefore and pray always, that you may be worthy to escape -flee the origin from which- all these things (that pertain to the end time deception) that shall come to pass, and to stand in the presence of the Son of man. Be patient therefore, establish your heart unto the coming of the LORD.

In Philippians 4:1-4, Paul says to be of the same mind, "Rejoice in the Lord always", "Let your gentleness be known to all men". Then he says, "The Lord is at hand." I see he means we are ready for the Lord, by being of the same mind, rejoicing "always" in Jesus, and gently loving all we will be in the Rapture. It's like how we get ready for marriage by learning how to relate, now, the way we will need to be relating once we are married.

Pt.3... and advocating an escapism mentality of being taken from the earth prior to His second coming. Both of which are unscriptural and dangerous, for that mentality produces a complacency and false hope that will lead many to embrace the deceptive promises of the spurious messiah. Resulting in their following him to their lost, or worst, destruction. Jesus' expectation is to return to redeem a body that has remain faithful and loyal to Him in the spirit of true devotion.

Pt.2 It is crucial that we know that His counterfeit appears first, and allow ourselves to be prepared to stand against his deception. Preparation for his coming and the deception surrounding it was initiated as soon as Jesus ascended, through seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, and the men used to make their deceptive doctrines fair seeming. Impregnating the mind of man with doubts concerning Jesus' first coming as The Messiah...Cont. Pt.3

Jesus is instructing His disciples - those who are making an effort to know Him - to make an effort to discern the time, or at least the season an manner of His coming. To prepare ourselves through diligent, prayerful meditation upon His word, while remaining soft and pliable in His hands, sensitive to His Spirit and open to His instructions. To do so will insure our fitness and ability to stand in His presence. Cont. Pt.2

Without witnessing I often hear people say, I know what you are saying is correct, I know I need to be saved and I will be some day(later) this is the very position God does not want us to be in when he returns.

Jesus means that we need to be watching for him anytime at anyday. In Matthew 24:42-43 it says (paraphrasing) watch for the returning of Jesus, cause we don't know the hour. If a person is expecting someone, they watch for them, wait for them. But if a person is not expecting anyone to come, they do not watch. Luke 12:37 says Blessed are those when the Lord comes shall be watching for him.

Hi Bill, Very good question. True Christians ought to live like good servants whose master is not at home.We should never give way to feeling and we should seek to keep our hearts in such a way that whenever Christ appears we can immediately give him a warm and loving welcome.

He means to be right with God,I am confident I am spiritualy ready. There are people I love who needs salvation and I am still praying they all will be saved before Christs return. Even if God said come up child,I would say please God let me stay and pray for others. Our purpose is to further the Kingdom of God,the longer we live the more we can do for the Lord even if we are ready ourselves.
