Hi Andrea...I know what you is way different than "the church" aka the people of God. No...I do not belong to a Messianic congregation, but do enjoy attending messianic events and love the music. The reason I don't belong to one is because I find that Messianic congregations usually want to practice alot of the law and keep their separateness and I am a firm believer that we are no longer under the law and that there is no longer "Greek nor Jew", we are one in Christ!

Holly - God has always had a special place for the house of David - they are an amazing people who have suffered so terribly at the hands of christains. I pray that they will see Christ despite the so called church. His church has always loved them.
In my head I always have 'church' and His Church as two seperate entities.
Bless you - are you in a messianic congregation? - my church has its own messianic Rabbi that visits and the Pastor is always hollering "this is a JEWISH BOOK!

Actually God is not now nor has He been, for centuries, protecting any religious, political or ethnic people. For more than 300 years Christians were killed for sport in Roman arenas. Burned at the stake in medieval times culminating in the "Holocaust" Neither Christians or Jews have a charmed life!

1) I praise God that I am a Jewish person who, by the grace of God, has accepted Jesus Christ as my Messiah and Lord. I pray that many more Jewish people do the same. I know that one of my prayers I pray is: "God, use me in my family to provoke them to jealousy to also want Jesus". I am the only one in my family who professes Jesus as Lord and Savior.

2) It is very hard to talk to them about Jesus, they just don't want to hear it, but I know that God can get through to them, He definitely has His ways, afterall, He got through to me! Not only did He have to break through my Jewish beliefs, but He also had to break through all the new age garbage I was involved in...and HE did!

And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication, then they will look on Me whom they have pierced, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieves for a firstborn (Zechariah 12:10).

God will once again pour out to the house of David grace

Romans 2:9-10 (KJV)
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile, But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

So why emphasize the Jews first and then the Gentiles? Paul's words acknowledge the Jew's place as God's chosen.

Oh, and also read: Romans 11:11-24

1st_cliff, God never said he would protect every Jew. He only said that he would not allow them as a people to perish. I'd rather be loved by God and despized by man, than have it the other way around. Also the Jews, as a people have a price to pay for rejecting Jesus. Maybe things like the holicost are part of that judgement.

I'm glad I'm not one of them!
---1st_cliff on 9/2/07
as you judge so shall ye be judged.

be careful - cliff
you can not judge God on what man insisted on doing - if this was just Hitler - but this was countries of people that manifested pure evil aimed at God's people. 6 million Jews died - 6 million christians died and up to 12 million unknown. 10 million died in Russia following the war not to mention the millions of soldiers and civilians.
maybe God just let us judge ourselves.
---Andrea on 9/2/07

From the mid 1930s to '45 God allowed 6 million of "His people?" to suffer the worst atrocities ever inflicted on man and if the allied forces didn't free them they would have been exterminated in Europe. If this is an example of how God protects His people, I'm glad I'm not one of them!

Actually Adam, Paul was a Jew who happened to be a Roman citizen. In fact he was a Pharisee. See Acts 23:6.

Yes the Jews is still God's chosen people. He did not and he will not leave them. Alot of the Jews know this, and they tend to get arragant and cocky, but I believe God puts them in their place.
---Rebecca_D on 8/31/07

Jews will always be God's chosen people. The bible tells us there will always be a remnant and they will continue to multiply and be blessed. Christians owe the Jews a token of gratitude. If it had not been for them, Christians would not have been included in this so a great salvation.

One day is with the Lord as a thousand years.2Peter3:8 // Hosea6:2 After two day will He revive us...//// 70ad. to 1948 seems eerily close to a fulfilled prophecy.

Another insight, Have you ever thought that it was because of the Holy Spirit inspired scripture through the Jews that we recieved the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Not one book of the Bible was written through a gentile. Yes, I absolutely believe that the Jewish people are God's chosen people.

He does not change and He does not lie.

I know Jesus fulfilled the OT Covenant but it was Jesus who made the OT covenant with them. We'll see.

We are all Gods chosen people thru Jesus Christ........Galatians 3:27-29

27)for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

28)There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

29)If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

God said they were his chosen people. I don't think he would abandon them. The world does hate them though. The romans hated them, Hitler tried exterminate them, Now the Muslims have declared war on them. Have you ever thought that the Jews are the oldest race/religion on earth. Have you ever met a Babylonian or a Persian, Probably not, But I know a few Jews. Despite every thing thats happened to them through out history, Theirs still a remnent to carry on their faith.

I even heard storys of pilars or fire protecting Isreali soldiers during the 6 day war. How else did Isreal defend against, what was it, 4 enemy tanks per 1 Isreali tank, or something like that. No one will ever wipe out Isreal not completly. Woe to those that try.

Rom.11 tells us that Israel is the natural branch and we are grafted in. And because of Gods covenant with them, all Israel shall be saved when the fullness of the Gentiles has come. Yes, even though Israel is not serving God, they are still, by covenant, a chosen people.
