No OSAS= NO faith...No faith= sin
We are justified by faith.
Do u believe your saved and HE will keep you?.. or do u work to stay saved?
If you walk away from salvation, you lack faith in HIM.
Its all about saving will never miss the mark.

Yes,Revelations tells it all but of great significance is 3:5 when Jesus tells the church at Sardis that the overcommers will not have their names blotted out of the Book of Life. Of course this means that the ones who do not overcome DO have there names blotted out of the Book of Life.

2 Chronicles 7:19: "But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and
my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and
serve other gods, and worship them, 20: Then will I pluck them up by
the roots out of my land which I have given them, and this house,
which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and
will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations."

mima, there is more than 2 books.

Revelation 20:12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

But there is only one book of life.
---Matthew_from_LA on 9/20/07

Revelation 20:15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:27
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
---Matthew_from_LA on 9/20/07

2)Revelation 22:19
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Not only will his part in the book of life be taken out, but also HIs place in the Holy City(heaven) and also all the promises to the Saints written in Rev. Only one who is going to heaven can have there part from heaven removed and there part of all the promises removed.
---Matthew_from_LA on 9/20/07

3)The two book of life interpretation is an interpretation concocted by OSAS advocates. Such an interpretation must be made up or the OSAS theology falls apart. If you see a passage that contradicts OSAS don't run to the OSAS teachers to explain it to you. That's not good.

John 6:45: "It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God.
Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh
unto me."
---Nana on 9/20/07

Here is a favorite of us all:
John 10:28: "And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish,
neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29: My Father, which
gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of
my Father's hand." What assurance, hey?
---Nana on 9/20/07

Now our Lord said many times things like: "Is it not written", "as it is
written", "for it is written", on and on. He did say he came to fulfill.
In John 10:35, it says "...the scripture cannot be broken...". So I say,
how about if I find a very same scripture that spells out the very same
assurance found in John 10:28_29?
---Nana on 9/20/07

2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall
humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their
wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land. 15: Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine
ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.16: For now have

I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever:
and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually."
That's assurance, hey? How about the plucking? Who can contend
with what God has selected and decreed? Nobody but God, gives
and takes back. So it is that only can "pluck", not any man it is true:

To Matthew from LA this statement would not be true",In discussing eternal security, the passages about getting one's name blotted out of the book of life are the most helpful. They bluntly disprove the theology" if you understood there are two books of life. The first one everyone gets in, the second one "the Lambs book of life" is for the saved only and from that book you can never be blotted out!!!
---Mima on 9/19/07

In discussing eternal security, the passages about getting one's name blotted out of the book of life are the most helpful. They bluntly disprove the theology. For most, it's not enough though. They look for "other" interpretations when the message is simple and clear. It's denial.
---Matthew_from_LA on 9/15/07

Does this sound like something some religions have done? Revelation 22:18-19 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.
---denna7667 on 9/14/07

That is like asking about eternal salvation, but Johns revelation says the following:
Revelation 3:5 `He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments, and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

Then you have, Matthew 24:13 "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

Earl, "The Book of Life" refers to Gods book that will be opened on the day of judgement, showing the names of the righteous, Those who kept Gods commandments and lived a Holy life, pure and acceptable to God. These are the ones who will enter Heaven.

Exodus 32:33: And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Also:Revelation 3:5 says, He that overcometh I will not blot out his name out of the Book of LIFE.

Max, I do not mean this in an offensive way, but if you do not like my blogs, then please do not respond to them. As far as the answer to this question on this particular blog, I believe that Rev. 22:18-19 answers this question. God Bless!

Every human's name is written down in the book of life at brith. If and when salvation is given to that person their name is written in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE and will never be subject to being blotted out of that book!!!
---mima on 9/3/07

Cynthia, I am afraid you have asked this question from different angles so many times that by now if you still don't know the answer, perhaps you will never understand, even if someone returns from heaven to answer it.

Jesus, as the Lamb of God, by His atoning sacrifice, took away the sin of the world. The sin of all mankind, past, present and future. That Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world, therefore every man that would every live, was written in the Lamb's book of life. To remain, one must overcome, one overcomes by the blood of Jesus and the word of their testimony. Those who sin through an obstinate self willed refusal to acknowledge and confess Jesus as LORD of salvation, refuse that salvation. Cont.

Pt.2 By that refusal they blaspheme the grace and Spirit of God. That sin is unforgivable, for there is no other payment for sin. "Whosoever sins against Me, him I will blot out of My book." Ex.32:33 "He that overcomes, I will not blot his name out of the book of life." Rev.3:5 Those who willingly bow to the deception of the spurious christ will, by their action, show themselves not to be written in that book. Cont..

Pt.3 The prophecies concerning Satan's final attempt to circumvent and make void the finished work of Christ are contained in the book of Revelation. "And If any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life."Rev.22:10 Pray for the ability to shun the deceiver and his deceptions. Confess Jesus as LORD and bow willingly before Him.

An overcomer is a born again Christian.
We overcome through faith in Christ.
Christ died for all mankind...some wont accept HIM. Their names will be blotted out.
---duane on 9/1/07

Rev.3:5 says it can. I don't think we are in one day and out the next day because we did something wrong. I think this is an examination at the end of our life. It says that if we overcame and are not defiled then our names remain in the book of life. All the more reason to go to Jesus for cleansing and power to overcome now while there is time.

Wisper, I would like to respectfuly disagree with you. Judas was never saved. Just like when Jesus said, and im paraphrasing, about those who cast out demands and spoke with the tongues of men and of angels, He said he would have them depart from him and somthing about workers of iniquity, He also said he never knew them. Judas was one of these. Judas was a person that witnessed all the miracles that Jesus peformed and still didn't see Jesus as his savior and of course ultimatly betrayed him.
---Adan on 9/1/07

The answer to this question is through out the Word (Psalms 69:28)(John 15:6)(Romans 11:21,22) (Revelation 3:5), etc., but some want to pretend it isn't there. Denial never make things better. God is not mocked, those that follow after the flesh/lies/half-truths, will reap eternal death. Those who follow after the Holy Spirit will reap eternal life. God Bless!
---Mrs._Morgan on 9/1/07

Yes it most certainly can be blotted out of the book of a life. Beleive me, Judas Iscariot is not in heaven at this moment.
---Whisper on 9/1/07

when someone recognizes Jesus is the Christ and knows the bible is the word of God, they change and become an example of Jesus Christ. all too often, people put their trust in men or build their faith in the sand. when temptations or winds blow, they fall easily. people follow Jesus for a short time and their names are written in the book. through evil, wickedness and turning from truth, names are blotted out. nothing can be taken from something that doesn't exist in the first place.

Once you are in the Book of Life you name will never be removed. The important thing is having God add it to the Book of Life.
---notlaw99 on 8/31/07

Yes it is possible for God to blott out someones name out of the book of the living. God has said this many times in his word. He said that if anyone comes against him and does not abide in his word, he will blot their name out of the book of life and not be written with the righteous.
