Too many people put a limit on God on what he can and can't do. They tie his hands and wonder why he isn't moving? Go figure. No God isn't going to move in a bunch of faith-lacking, half-hearted people. Cliff, The Holy Ghost hasn't changed. The power comes from within us, just as it did the disciples.
---Rebecca_D on 9/24/07

You go Rebecca, preach it girl! Amen and Amen.
Gotta have faith! God can do anything he wants! He is the King! Lets stop putting limitations on God. The Hebrew people did it and look what happened to them- they got a 40 year detour.
---Michelle on 9/23/07

Rebecca_D, the key words there is "IF it be God's will".

God is not respector of persons in terms of rich or poor and other earthly characteristics, but that does not mean that we are all exactly alike. That only means that God is not impressed by what our wealth or acquisitions or power.

He is the Potter.
Isaiah 29:16, Isaiah 64:8, Romans 9:21.
---lorra8574 on 9/22/07

Rebecca D, Have you read in the bible where an apostle or disciple attempted to "raise a dead person"(with H S of course) and failed? no, that was then, this is now. Dead raising now is "coincidental". Just last week a guy was "killed" in a car accident and shipped to the morgue, after 2 hrs., the autopsy was to begin and he sat up,very much alive. Now he's suing for mega bucks! Makes one wonder ,over the past centuries, how many have been burried alive!
---1st_cliff on 9/22/07

Cliff: Yes I agree that God is no respect of persons. So if the disciples can heal the sick, cast out devils, and raise the dead in the name of the Lord then so can I if it be God's will. I am no different.
---Rebecca_D on 9/21/07

Rebecca D, Rom.2.11 Says God shows "partiality" to no one, Bringing a dead person to life here and there (whimsical) is definitely "partiality" or favoritism.
---1st_cliff on 9/21/07

Cliff: If God bids me to go and raise the dead, then I will do just that. A person can't say I am going to raise that person from the dead. If God isn't in it, it won't happen. There is nothing new under the sun, and the gifts have not seized. It isn't our will, but God's will be done. Understand that?
---Rebecca_D on 9/21/07

Rebecca D, Go down to the local funeral parlor and catch them as they come in the door. That way you'll save the families a whole lot of grieving!
---1st_cliff on 9/20/07

Yes I do. The bible says that Jesus gave us power to do as he has done. I have not seen the dead to be raised to life, but I know when Jesus lifted this ole dead body to life again. I know it isn't the same thing. But if God is in it, yes we have the power to raise the dead.
---Rebecca_D on 9/20/07

I think your confusing me(the poster of the question) with the other Michelle(the one who called you aggressive). You didn't offend me. I work with children- please, it takes alot to offend me.
I agree with what you say but I think we need to focus on his grace too. Remember, the cross is about Grace and Love.
---Michelle_Sinclair on 9/18/07

Jesus loves us and yes he wants us to fear him but let's remember God's grace on our brothers and sisters. Whatever we speak over someone will come back to us. Personally I want to speak grace over people and pray for God to have mercy on tehm, that is intercession. Walk in love!
---Michelle_Sinclair on 9/18/07

Mark B, H.S. has shown me the difference between literal and figurative without contradiction or ambiguity. Once you learn this you can see we have a "Loving" God not some sadistic fiend! Mark, one suggestion ,don't follow the crowd!
---1st_cliff on 9/16/07

Hey cliff man...i can understand where your coming from, about God being to loving...but this just means that you need a revelation of God's Holiness and righteousness. Pray that God would give you the spirit of revelation and wisdom...mabye he'll give you an experience where the fear of the lord is literally upon you, and your scared b/c your so isaiah was, but the angel put the coal on his lips and he was cleansed
---mark_B. on 9/15/07

Eloy,How callous do you think God is? Yesterday a man here shoved his little baby's face down into boiling water, and wipped her with a rope. waited 4 hrs. before taking her to hospital.(the city is outraged) But you say our loving God does worse than that to us ,His children? NO, my friend, you have our loving God all wrong!Learn the "figurative" part of God's word!
---1st_cliff on 9/14/07

.cliff, falsehood begins when people do not accept God's very simple and plain truth, but continually try to twist his words into meanings and definitions that he never intended. Sin says, the Bible is relative and of private interpretations, rather than absolute and not subject to personal adulterations. The Word declares it is a sin to change God's words into what he did not truly say. That goes for misapplying scriptures, taking verses out of context, as well as adding and taking away from his words.

.cliff, you cannot compare temporal pagan burnings which God indeed did not command, with God's eternal hell fire, which he himself has made for the wicked. Eternal torment or everlasting damnation is not interpretive but literal reality. The prophets preach it, the saints preach it, Jesus preaches it, I preach it, and the Holy Spirit preaches it. Please Read- Isaiah 66:24, Daniel 12:2,3, Matthew 13:40-43, 25:41-46, Mark 9:43-48, Luke 16:23,24, II Thessalonians 1:7-9, Jude 7, Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15.
---Eloy on 9/11/07

Eloy, Let's not go off the deep end here with the "false winess" thing. Let's take your first sentence that God created a firey hell for sinners. OK? Jer.7.31 "They (pagans) have built the high places of Topheth ''to burn their sons and daughters in the fire, something I did not command nor did it ENTER MY MIND" The bible is not a false witness,it's personal interpretation that's the problem.
---1st_cliff on 9/11/07

.cliff, you are being dazzled by the very delusions you speak of, for God made a very real literal firey hell for sinners as well as a glorious paradise for saints. If not, then I am a false witness and God's inspired words of truth are a false witness and Christ is a false witness and the 12 apostles are false witnesses and the biblical prophets are false witnesses and the Holy Ghost is a false witness and the holy Scriptures are a false witness.
---Eloy on 9/10/07

Eloy, I admire your zeal and tenacity, but you and I see things from different perspectives. I am a simple human and see things from this angle,God has always dealt with humans on their level knowing that we are but dust! If it doesn't make common sense then it's probably fantacy.Satan tries to dazzle people with smoke and mirrors,Christ doesnt! It's that simple. God loves humans, He doesn't barbecue them!

Yes I do. Because of two verses and more.

John 14:12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also, and greater works than these he will do, because I go to the Father.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
---denna7667 on 9/10/07

Luke 16:30,31
[30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
[31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

The religious ones wanted to kill Lazarus after Jesus raised him from the dead.

They hated Christ and Lazarus.

How much more will they hate a common man today that isn't popular when he comes telling them to repent?

---Frank on 9/10/07

When I posted it was in answer to your question.
That is why I addressed it to you.
With that I gave the explaination of "why" which goes against all of the false teaching in books being sold today.
There was nothing meant to be aggressive towards you and I apologize if you took that personally.
On the other hand, it isn't good to call a warning that the Lord gives someone to speak "aggessive" and the like.

---Frank on 9/9/07

The truth is that not only Revelation, but the entire word of God shows how Christ shall judge his church and the world. It begins with us and many who claim to know him do not. The deceiver and deceived shall not enter the kingdom of God. Those who deceive themselves and think they know him.
Even here carnal minds give Baal's answers many times thinking they know him.
As for your assembly, I do truly hope yours is right with God.
Many aren't.

Not only did I mean no aggression towards you, but was rather pleased that you did take note of something that others either didn't notice or ignored.

The truth is that like Lazarus, those who have been raised from the dead are hated. That is, if they come back with a warning from God rather than a lovey-dovey message for a book.

Christianity today is as the warning from the Lord that if it were possible even the elect would be deceived.

---Frank on 9/10/07

.cliff, God can use you for good. I promise you that the life of a real born-again Christian is the best. Sure you will be treated like Jesus was, and every imp and demon of hell will know you, but the rewards are beyond words. To really know the love of God, to be one with his life and mind and holy Spirit is awesome to say the least. To do his will and witness others getting saved, and participate in his great miracles is overwhelming. Truly there is much joy in heaven when just one sinner repents.
---Eloy on 9/9/07

"Frank", using other's names because you do not like their opinions is aggressive behavior and quite narcissistic.

---Michelle on 9/9/07

.cliff, On the contrary, God is very much involved in the affairs of man. It is up to each person how much they will interact together with God to fulfill the great Comission. The fields are overripe, pray that more laborers will enter the field to harvest. Please Read- Mat.24:14+ Mk.16:15-18+ Lk.10:1,2. We are to be about our Papa's business, even more than eating. "Here I say to you, Lift up them eyes of you and view these fields, because how great on being to harvest already." John 4:35.

Frank - truth is if we read Rev it plainly gives examples of how Christ judges the church. I've got a great prayer group we are there with our own garbage and repenting for the church. Fact is the church is held to a higher standard then the world. WE KNOW HIM.
If people would just realize that He already knows all our sins - He just doesn't get rid of them until we ask.
5 of 7 churches were told repent. I see that here in this country for sure.
---Andrea on 9/8/07

Finally, Michelle,
Many so-called Christians need to stop searching the scriptures TO SHOW HOW MUCH THEY KNOW and pray the Lord will have MERCY ON THEIR SOUL and start searching the scriptures to see WHO HE IS!
Going around the same questions with different wording for years does nothing but open the door for arogant attitudes to spew blasphemy.
The Spirit of God was sent to glorify God.
Not to glorify man.
---Frank on 9/8/07

.cliff, God does not heal the entire world because they will not give God the glory (ref: Luke 17:11-19). Right before healing someone, many times Jesus asked them, "Do you believe that I can do this?" and the impaired one would answer, "Yes Lord I believe." Then he would heal them and say, "Your faith has made you whole." But if people have no faith in Jesus, then they will not go to Jesus for any healing but instead they will remain in their impairment.
---Eloy on 9/8/07

Eloy, Thanks for your response it is as I see it also, that God does His pleasure whether you pray or not! He can prevent world disasters if He chooses ,but seems not to be involved with earthly matters until His Kingdom is established. It is up to us to prevent accidents, sickness financial problems etc. God is not involved as much as people imagine!

The Lord has appeared to many over the years. He has eaten with others just as Peter spake of those who ate with him after his ressurrection.
Had I known it at the time I would have been at his feet worshipping him instead of sitting and eating and listening.
It happened after I believed. It was for a reason. And the message is ignored by the arogant.
This so-called modern mainstream Christianity needs to repent.
Return to the old paths wherein lieth the good way.
---Frank on 9/8/07

#2 Michelle,
The Lord has appeared to me twice and it is not a case of buddy-Jesus saying let's go to Frank's place for a casual visit.
Each time had a distinct meaning and message.
The first was to drive home the point I will live forever and better fear him.
The second was to make it clear that I had better say what HE wants said.
And what He said is that these so-called Christians today need to repent!
And for the record I do FEAR him as others should.
---Frank on 9/8/07

#3 Michelle,
For the last 30-40 years this generation of preachers and television evangelists have raised a generation of so-called Christians that know not Joseph and their arogance stinks at the throne of God.
They boast against the branches when they should be on their face thanking God that he would have mercy on Gentiles!
Their carnal minds cannot comprehend the spiritual things of God.
They that speak of this world are of this world.
They need to repent!

1st cliff, the unregenerate think God is an unconditional giver and doer for selfish and unrepenting man, but the truth is you serve God and God does not serve you. I do not pray for everything that others ask for, and God is not mocked. God will have pity where he will have pity, and judgment where he will have judgment.

1st cliff, God is healing certain people from AIDS even as I write this post and also there are certain others being given their lives back from the dead: for no thing is too hard for the Almighty God to do, but the double-minded will receive nothing from the Lord.

.cliff, I remember praying for a poor neighbor man. And I gave him some bags of my clothes for him to have. But instead of God giving money from heaven to him, he was offered an immediate job in an air conditioned donut shop by an employer whom did not even see him, but the ungrateful man refused. Instead, he punched me knocking me down and my head got banged and my lip inside got a contusion. God is more than willing to help man, but man must change his heart and attitude before God will repond to man.

Eloy, Last winter a lad fell thru the ice and was submerged for some 10 minutes. The paramedics revived him, without brain damage or prayer. It happens! So if what you say about the "aids" person is true then all you have to do is pray for "all" aids victims and poof no more world problem, right? Too big a job? Not for God! I'll be waiting to see this on CNN! (no sarcasm intended) One or a million ,what's the difference?

1st cliff, the baby was a greyish color and I didn't ask. I prayed and the dead baby came alive. God's miracles are not strange or foreign to the Christian. I remember praying for a professor whom had AIDS, and when he went back to the doctor for his follow up, they checked his condition and were shocked that he had absolutely no detectable trace of the AIDS in his blood or in his body anymore. To Jesus is the glory, he is the resurrection and the life.

I do not. I do not believe that God gives anyone those kinds of powers today. Or gifts. Now if something comes along to change my mind, Like a Bible book or studying on it ect, perhaps, I will change my mind on the subject. But right now the answer is NO!

Frank -
Paul said - who will save me from this body of sin and death! He couldn't be good enough. He needed to realize it was not his own righteousness that would get him into heaven. It is the righteousness of Christ.
He won't let you fail.
Read OSAS arguments - it is very obvious that as long as we rely on Him - it is He - His faith that saves us - His holiness is imputed into us - its an action of the heart (not the body).

I am more concerned about the lukewarm then the worried.

Finally, the side that is not so gloroius.

The Lord said to whom much is given, of the same much is required.

When he manifests his power:

You BETTER GO where HE sends you.

You BETTER SAY what HE tells you to say.

You BETTER be willing to be hated by EVERYONE.

Not exactly "Touched By An Angel."

And if it happens to you, you will fear God!

Thank you for the kindness of posting a thank you.

May God bless.

---Frank on 9/5/07

1) Jack: You mean "documentation" exactly the way Lazarus's death and being raised from the dead occurred? There was ABSOLUTELY no medical proof that Lazarus was dead or that he was raised from the dead, yet we believe. Not everything can be properly documented. If someone is lying dead on the side of the road and we pray for them and they are raised from the dead, who in their right mind is going to call for a doctor 1st to have it documented that the person is really dead...
---Holly4jc on 9/5/07

2) ...BEFORE praying for them? No just do what needs to be done while you are in the midst of the moment...there is no time to mess around with proper documentation! It's a life and death situation and you do what you have to do. If the bible says greater things than Jesus did we shall also do, then if He prayed and raised someone from the dead, so shall we! Praise the Lord!
---Holly4jc on 9/5/07

#1 Andrea, you're welcome.
I posted this is because the Lord will not do it publicly for all to see.
If he does all who see it that are unsaved have no more chance.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for (eternal life and raised from the dead at the last trump) the evidence of things not seen.
That is why he did it after I believed.
And that is why he did it to the simplest of individuals.
Because I am nothing and of no importance in this world by it's standards.
---Frank on 9/5/07

Furthermore, do you realize the fear of truly knowing that you will live forever and knowing the consequences of failing him?
We say we shall live forever but to experience it is fearful beyond words.
Many have written books about what heaven and hell are like but they probably haven't stayed awake at night fearful that they may fail and wind up in hell.
I know his power over my body, soul and spirit.
The fear is not in dying.
It's of Him!
And if I'm wrong!

---Frank on 9/5/07

That answer doesn't surprise me one bit. It's just what I was told I would be met with. Nevertheless, I shared what I was told as I have elsewhere and when you stand before the judgment seat of Christ you can't say you weren't warned. Christians better repent.
And, just for the record, I use my own name because I am not ashamed to trust Christ even if it goes against everyone. After all, his disciples did.

Frank - thank you for sharing. What a blessing to lose all fear of death.
---Andrea on 9/4/07

Although the Lord has appeared to me I did not state that to be arogant.
Look at these blogs, titles and issues.
They go over the same issues asking the same thing but only worded differently.
It must look foolish to unbelievers.
When will they ever start asking who HE is?
What does it mean for him to be the Amen?
How is he Wonderful?
By the scriptures and not carnal minds trying to show how much they know.
The rightly divided word of truth glorifying HIM.
---Frank on 9/4/07

Now that we have slammed Mary a thousand times and others have blessed her as well,
how about getting beyond the basics of Christianity and stop making a mockery of the word of God?

How did he become the LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS?
The list could go on and on of who HE is with no room for flesh to glory.

I mean rightly divided by the Spirit of God to give and understanding to babes and show lurking unbelievers that we truly know him.

---Frank on 9/4/07

[3] And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

#2 That is why it sickens me when people sell books about "near death" experiences. Those who have been there know it is not near death but to pass from life to life and these geedy authors are getting rich from the poor people that buy their trash.

God can still do anything He wishes. Raising the dead is part of the "anything." Do I think it is happening today? Rarely. 1)Going to Heaven is a good thing! 2) I wonder if we really have the faith to expect a miracle from God - or to receive it!

She Stopped on access road and ask man if he was dead and the man said he isn't breathing. Mom held her hand above him and prayed,he jumped, arched his back like hit with electricity. The man checked him,Mom asked if he was breathing, man, his friend answered yes he is. We praised God for miracle. God's still on the throne.
