Most definately! I feel his presence and Love every day.Every time Im on my knees praying He is with me. He promises us that He will never leave us and that He will ALWAYS Love us. The people we love here on earth are only with us here. God is and will always be with me and love me. WOW How awesome is that!
---Sallie on 7/19/11

christina, yes, that is the verse. What i've found in this experience is that a load has been lifted, OR maybe to say that through this process, God is applying the acid to those chains that keep us bound to this earthly life. As we come to know and realize in reality Heaven is our home, and not here. I mean now at this time. We become so attached to this life, and it really is a burden we don't need. We don't have to worry about our tomorrows. Even if the worst tomorrow comes, because our TOMORROWS will be for all eternity with the Lord. The transforming process of transforming our minds as well as the riches of Ephesians 3:13-21...what Paul so urgently wants us to KNOW and REALIZE and come into it's fullness.
---kathr4453 on 7/2/11

Kathr: Good to see you! Is the verse you refer to Psalm 30:5
"For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime, weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." I love this verse.
Also "we are being changed from Glory to Glory by the Spirit of the Lord PRESENT TENSE." Agree. I might like to "feel" God, but I know he is there in the suffering, and working through it.
Then I think, "in His presence there is fullness of joy". Also, that our joy is in Him, not our circumstances. I've experienced His presence and joy in some of the worst circumstances. i can't help but think of Stephen while being stoned

donna66, interestingly, we are being changed from Glory to Glory by the Spirit of the Lord PRESENT TENSE. If you read in 1st Peter, we see those who are tried by fire..suffering etc, the GLORY of the Lord rests upon them. I also believe it is through suffering that we are being conformed to His Image, through this Glory.

When we surrender to His Hand of working in and through us TRUSTING as Job did, (though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him) .....

There is a great verse in the Psalms...something like...those who cry themselves to sleep wake up to a great JOY. God works in us even when we are sleeping.

AMAZING GRACE!! His Mercy is NEW every day!
---kathr4453 on 7/2/11

Donna, I understand, it's just something that brought back a memory from many years ago, and I too said it as a statement, in prayer to God. Through the trials, I found that God needed to slay much in me, and there was a lack of trust I had been unaware of. I thought I meant it at the time I said it, but I was not too happy with the slaying and did struggle.
Also, Amen to Romans 8:37,39-40
---Christina on 6/27/11

Eloy, I didn't know you spoke Spanish.

Will wonders never cease!
---John on 6/27/11

Christina--It's hard to explain. I didn't say it as a prayer, but rather as a statement. I don't know that it changed anything... but me. I don't remember if things got better or worse because I gave up all expectations one way or the other and simply trusted HIM. I MEANT it..though He slay me...

I have not been at that point but a few times, yet it changed me.
I know what it means..(Rom 8:37) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us
Rom 8:39-40 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God...
---Donna66 on 6/27/11

Donna66, Your post reminded me of a time when I prayed "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him", I felt pretty good at the time, however very soon afterwards, multiple trials came my way, pretty devastating, I did not like it at all, and wondered why I prayed that.
---Christina on 6/27/11

Kathr4453-- AMEN! It is so important to know that He IS there EVEN if you don't feel His prescence...don't see answers to prayers...don't understand why things are going so wrong. A few times in my life I have said with Job, (Job 13:15) Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: There is great strength in that. WHATEVER happens,(and however you feel) you can trust Him.
---Donna66 on 6/27/11

I believe it is important to live by faith and not by feelings.

Not always feeling the presene of God does not mean you are out of His will. Many times God will test us, without any feelings involved, to mature us into living by faith and not feelings.

Some of my greatest times of growth in His Word and in Him was without feelings. I believe Him when He said I will never leave you or forsake you.
---kathr4453 on 6/27/11

Donna66, I pray I am never without God's presense. He is with me everywhere I go. If I am checking out at a grocery store, I feel His presense. No matter where I go, I pray my life will be a testimony to all who are around me.

No, when I am busy taking care of everyday matters, I don't always "feel" the love of God. I know He's there and available at any time. I don't need to "feel" something at all times.

Whatever happens to me, HOWEVER I feel,(which is not always blessed and "spiritual") I know that HE is faithful! I've been through a lot of things in my 70 years. I did not always "feel" close to God. But I know He has never abandoned me, NEVER.
---Donna66 on 6/23/11

We are to live by faith but I can tell you if I can't feel it, I don't want it. Sometimes I can feel God so close to me and at other times, He is far away. He didn't leave, I did.

Elena,God is wonderful and will do far and beyond anything we can think of. I want to share about a very dear friend,we've been friends since we were 9 years old we are both 72 now. Years ago she had Cancer of the uterus with surgery, chemo, and faith she got over that. Then about six years ago had breast cancer. Had treatment and was ok again. Then over a year ago she was found to have lung cancer, she has been on chemo shots ever since, walking in faith and trusting God. That cancer has gone down to only 29% from a hundred. Her doctor ask to share it with others and said it is a miracle. We're praising God. She has more faith than I've seen in a long time, she doesn't waver. Doctor relaeaed her to come to Texas to see us all. I'll pray for you.

Yes I do feel God's presence in my life but that is only because I make it a priority in my life to spend time with Him daily. I am in awe of Him and the work He is doing in my life.

Yes, Another way that God speaks to an believer is through simple PEACE. Ask Him a question and He shall answer you with a groan. Good morning America. I hope you slept well. Before you get out of bed this morning fix your eyes on Jesus. I promise you Jesus is alive and He is well. At the dismay of Satan. And the people who do not believe will one day be dismayed too.
---catherine on 9/10/07

O hallelujah! ah shekundea mudio sekedia sekundea! Thank you Jesus!
---Eloy on 9/8/07

Not all off the time but we walk by faith and not by sight or emotions. I believe the Word of God. It says He loves me with an everlasting love. I trust in that Word and stand on faith. I love Him because He first loved me. Love is not a feeling but action. I choose to believe. Through that knowledge I feel secure and loved.
---Robyn on 9/7/07

Stan - sounds like a test - after 3 decades of marriage I've had to just trust that I was in love, it comes back double.
What lit fire as a christian was the Baptism in the Holy Spirit -The word says to "stir each other up"

2Ti 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
2Pe 1:13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting [you] in remembrance,

Yes. Sometimes it is hard, and sometimes life gets very busy. But every now and then I hear God wispering to me, answering my questions when I need it the most. It is during these times that my whole body just fills up and it is a truly glorious experience.

---jody_martin on 9/6/07

Not for a long time. I pray for the comfort and assurance I have had in the past but emotionally, I feel no presence. I know God is near, even in my heart, but I must press on through. By faith, I know although I cannot "feel" God, He is with me and will never forsake me. I question if this is some test of my faith.
---Stan on 9/5/07

Love is not a feeling to me. I do not need to feel God's love to know it is there. I am certain of His love and experience great joy when I praise Him. I used to need the feeling, but now I am grateful that I don't.

Absolutely. Holy Spirit who lives within me keeps me focused on Him and Him alone. As long as I do that I don't let the things of this world get to me or distract me. Don't be distracted and keep your focus on Jesus and leave stress behind. 2 Corinthians 4:4 in whose case the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
