It is praying for others, standing in the gap. Like in (Daniel 9:20), he said, "While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy hill of my God." As christians, we should always be praying for others.

Intercessory prayer is the act of praying in behalf of others, and also one who is a mediator as well. Someone who is making a spiritual request or petition to God for someome else. When we pray, we should pray to our Heavenly Father for others as far as protection, physical health as well as spiritual health.

Moses is a good example of someone intercession with prayer for another. While on the mountain, Moses prayed on behalf of the people in the wilderness. Moses had his back against the wall, people were starting to lose their faith. So Moses took their needs to God. As we should do for other Christians. Pray for their behalf.

When you stand in for other's needs before the father. It gets the father's attention more than Hey, God can you do this for me? I think God gets sick of our gimme prayers as if he were Santa Claus. He wants us to pray for each other.

Amen, john, Amen.

An intercessor stands in the gap, as the Word of God says, someone who will stand in the gap. Ezekiel 22:30

God is searching for intercessors, the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

God has given us the authority through Jesus to fellowship with the Father, The Holy Spirit leads and shows what needs to be done in prayer. When we are obedient, dynamic and powerful things happen in the spiritual realm.

Whenever the Holy Spirit brings something to your spirit to pray, obedience moves spiritual mountans.
If you are in a group of intercessors and only one person is praying and leading, be cautious. The Holy Spirit will show the whole group. You will be on one accord, one heart, one mind to pray effectively. The Father wants intercessors who are after His heart and not their own agenda.

When we try to pray without His directions, we are praying less than His will. It is usually our desires or religious ideas. God knows all things, He is Omniscient, so He knows what needs to be set in motion through prayer.

Sometimes the Holy Spirit will wake you up at night to pray. You may be saving a life in another country. There is no distance in prayer in the spirit, which is where prayer works.

It is praying on the behalf of others.

It is praying for and in behalf of others for their wellbeing, needs, and protection. In our church, much of the intercessory prayer is done in the Spirit, as we don't always know how to pray but the Spirit does.
