Because is is easier to put a smoker down than to face your own sin and brokenness I have asked this for years please show me in proper context where it states in GODs word smoking is a sin, I can't find any refrence to losing salvation from smoking or from anything once you are saved .. the issue here is cultural not biblical.
one last thing please don't Quote 1 corinthians 6:19 that has to do with sexual immorality.

I heard there are two sections in heaven
smoking and non-smoking.

its not a good testimony but it should not be a problem as far as fellowshipping.

i dont know if smoking is a heaven or hell issue. i wouldnt want to sit under a pastor who smoked. i think its one of thoes things nobody can tell you about but the Holy Spirit or your Pastor. if your not the pastor dont beat his flock. when the time is right God can deliver from any chain. i know a man who preaches now but came to his first service and got baptized. he went into the water high on drugs and came out sober and delivered.

God let me know I couldn't continue smoking and go to heaven also. I haven't looked back since either. It was easy to quit since God had everything to do with it. "With God all things are possible" He also let me know it wasn't a personal conviction. It is a sin for everyone, smoking is. People with oxygen machines coughing from emphysema. People losing an entire lung. People with mouth cancer. All these things show the destruction smoking brings. Things that destroy come from you know who.

Whisper, you said, "If your smoking here, you won't have a lighter up in heaven to sustain your habit once you get up there meeting St. Peter at the gate, you will not be given a carton of Marboro Lights."

And just how do you know this? Maybe Peter will be happy to give smokers a carton when they get there.

Wisper:Congratulations,You made the transition gracefully. Its been 27 years since my last Cigarette.Really I do believe "IF God wanted man/women to smoke he would have made us with a chimney on our heads"I quit because of a hacking cough which was HIS sign "do you also want to smoke in the next world ? just keep it up" so I quit cold turkey took 2 weeks even before my wife realised? She never smoked, never liked kissing an ash tray! but never complined or admonished.

It's not right at all for non-smokers to treat smokers like dirt. But, maybe one of the reasons they do so is because smokers are dirtying up the air of non-smokers.

Rebecca...Are you in a hurry to get to Heaven? With all your medical problems, it seems to me that you would stop smoking, at least for your kids sake. The Lord can deliver you from that habit.
---Susie on 10/24/07

Rebecca: If it is any consolation, I used to be a chain smoker, you could not catch me without a cigarette, I beleived in God, thought of myself as a Christian, would witness to others, and sing my heart out, then one day God CONVICTED me so strong, I said God I want to be a Holy Temple fit and pleasing to you, 3 to 4 packs of cigarettes a day, was my usual limit. GOD MIRACULOUSLY DELIVERED ME.......and I've never looked back since.

Whisper: So your saying that a person can't have a habit and be a Christian at the same time? That's new. Guess what? Once I get up in heaven, I won't have the need to smoke or have any other bad habits,'s heaven.

Becasue 2nd hand smoke kills, it stinks too
---Bish on 10/23/07

I have asthma, and detest when a smoker is polluting the air I breath. I hated when family members would visit and smoke in my home, acting as if it were their right to do so. Many smokers have an attitude of entitlement, as if they have the right to pollute the air I breath. As long as a smoker keeps his smoke to himself, and he does not reek of smoke, I have no problem with his slow form of suicide.

Answer this one question. Why would a person who professes to be a Christian smoke? Isn't Jesus a good enough pacifier? I figure if I can quit smoking with the help of the Lord, anyone can. In fact, some of the habits I used to have before I gave my life to Jesus were a whole lot worse than smoking and they are gone too. One day I woke up and realized that being a Christian meant giving myself 100% to the Lord.

Jody, let's be honest. It's not "throwing stones," it's "throwing stones back." Every single human being has the right to self defense. When we are attacked by the smoker's habit, we should be able to respond. No, smoking does not equate to alcohol, over eating, or any other habit that might not harm others. Smoking harms others every single time they are forced to endure the smoker's whim.

People like to throw stones and it is socially correct to do so towards smokers. Other harmful habits are socially accepted such as overeating, obsessive shopping, and many many others but since they can get away with persecuting the smoker, they will. Like the wild animal killing the lame so the human has the tendancy to pick upon the one whom they can.

I am sorry if someone has hurt your feelings about your smoking, but that could also be a sign of conviction. Sure we all have faults we are working on, but smoking does hurt others who choose not to smoke. It is a rude and disgusting habit, and a very poor witness for a Christian.

"They are "casting stones" as though innocent of all indulgences themselves." I disagree, except in the rarest of occasions. This is generalizing and also 'judgement'. The majority of non-smokers would like a healthy life. There are enough pollutants in life which harm our health without us having to add another person's tobacco smoke to the list. No-one is forced to share another person's alcohol, illegal drugs or bad diet, but we have no choice where second hand smoke is concerned.
---RitaH on 10/23/07

The non-smoker is asking nothing by seeking a static environment where he may be comfortable. The smoker is attacking others. He can not keep his smoke to himself and cares not who he harms. My eyes actually hurt! when accosted by the smokers demand that he be given his right to harm above my desire to not be harmed. None smokers are not mean, they merely wish to not be attacked. Smokers are mean.

A smoking Christian? I didn't know there was one.

If your smoking here, you won't have a lighter up in heaven to sustain your habit once you get up there meeting St. Peter at the gate, you will not be given a carton of Marboro Lights.

However, I assure you downstairs you will never have a need for a lighter, you will be one, you will smoke day, and night for all eternity. for free!
---Whisper on 10/22/07

Because when some non-smokers see a person smoking, they point fingers and tell them how wrong it is and how they will go to hell if they don't stop. There is not a single person alive that doesn't have any faults, habits. It is a shame that people can't get along without someone pointing fingers toward someone else. I smoke. And the way I see it, if someone feels the need to talk about me, then they should get on their knees and talk about me to the Lord. Not gripe or complain, but pray.

Thats a {{{{mean habit}}}} there is nothing lovely about tar and nicotene, which causes cancer cutting life short. Do you want someone to sugar coat. DEATH.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy, for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
---Whisper on 10/22/07

As a non-smoking Christian, I don't judge those that smoke, my husband is a Christian and he use to smoke and God helped him to quit and thats who is the only one should do the judging not us. I can't answer for them, but just ignore them and pray for them thats the best thing to do.

They are "casting stones" as though innocent of all indulgences themselves. People who smoke owe it to non smokers not to smoke in their presence without asking, but non smokers also need to be polite, go home and clean their own doorsteps before criticizing you! Don't let those type "judgers" bother you--God will judge you, not them. They may hurt their own judgement passing theirs on you.
