Sorry, for my GLORY question on the nephilim blog, I re-enstated it where it is supposed to be now.

5th century A.D., men taught the "Sethite theory" through the Middle Ages. Unfortunately, many Bible teachers still hold it.

There are many problems with it.

1. Rabbinical sources and Septuagint translators went with a clear understanding of the Hebrew text.

Moses, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, clearly establishes a contrast between the "nephilim" fallen ones, i.e. angels and the "benoth ha Adam" daughters of men, i.e. earth women.

Only eight (without "tamiym") individuals were given the protection of the ark. No one beyond Noah's ("perfect in his generation") family was accounted worthy to be saved. The son of Seth himself was Enosh, meaning "frail mortal." The KJV says that in his time men began to "call on the Name of the Lord." Hebrew implies, men "profaning" the Name. They, too, were wiped out in the Flood.

The fatal flaw in the "Sethite" view is the "Nephilim themselves whose unnatural offspring seem to be a primary cause for God's rather drastic judgment".

Procreation by parents of different religious views do not produce unnatural offspring of this caliber.
"For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell [Tartarus], and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment, .. (2 Peter 2:4-5).

Funny, but evolutionists don't believe in Genesis but completely embrace the serpent seed doctrine as fact. Amazing, isn't it?

Only Adam is called a "son of God." And we know that Christ gives them that receive Him the power to become these "sons of God" as entirely new creations (1John3:1). The term "oiketerion" in 2 Corinthians 5:2 and Jude 1:6 literally alludes to the heavenly body with which the believer will be clothed and it is the precise term for the heavenly bodies from which the fallen angels had disrobed.

The "daughters of Adam" refers to the whole human race. These were daughters born to the men who "began to multiply on the face of the earth (Genesis 6:1). It is clear that these daughters were not limited a particular family line.

Abnormal creatures that were designated "mighty" and "men of reknown" had to do with the fact that God "repenteth" of His creation.

"For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell [Tartarus], and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment, And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly (2 Peter 2:4-5).

Jude 6 and 7

"And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire."

The Seth theory and Serpent Seed theory are false.

If the implied serpent seed/physical union the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men" were a mixed marriage between earthlings, why are fallen angels imprisoned forever as the Bible says -
but theories maintain they are free to roam the universe?

The Nephilims were the offspring of the Angels ("Sons of God") and Humans ("daughters of Men"). They were half-angelic and half-human. They were gigantic in stature. Their strength was prodigious. This interpretations fits in with the rest of the OT (which called angels "Sons of God") and three NT text which connect to Gen 6:1-4 (1 Peter 3:19, Jude 6-7 and 2 Peter 2:4).

Jude 6-7 in Greek mention that the sin of the angels were going after strange flesh.

Nephilim (Gen 6:4, Num 13:33)
Ungers Bible Dictionary states they are considered by many as giant demigods, the unnatural offspring of the "daughters of men" (mortal women) in cohabitation with the "sons of God" (angels). This violated God's creative orders of being and necessitated the judgment on the world of the Flood. p.788 copyright 1965

Do you experience the "HEAVY PRESENCE of Gods Glory in your church? Can you describe this please?

According to my Strong's Concordance Hebrew dictionary (entry 5303), the Nephilim were the "giants" mentioned in Genesis 6:4. And Strong's says a "nephil" is a "bully" or a "tyrant". And the next verse (Genesis 6:5) says, "Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." So, I can see that Nephilim were tyrannical people who were continually intending evil.

Genesis 6:4 shows there were these Nephilim who were well known, possibly "tyrants" according to my Strong's Concordance Hebrew dictionary. And man intended "only evil continually", according to the next verse. So, then God resolved to flood the earth and wipe out these evil doers. So, being a tyrant can get you flooded...then flushed to the lake of fire and brimstone.

"nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:3)

The Nephilims were the giants that once lived, then the flood came, and God wanted to wipe them out 40 days 40 nights passed and then these fallen angels looked upon earth woman to continue having intercourse, such as the PHILISTINES with 6 fingers. Nephilims were the fallen angels kicked out of Heaven with Lucifer, today they are in chains in the lowest regions of the abyss located in the center of the earth.

Blessings to you, Gensis 6 describes the Nephilim(a race of giants) who were the corrupt strongmen of their time, known for their violent exploits. They may have been descendents of Cain, who were terrorizing the people, and whose thoughts were only evil continually. Some hold that the "sons of God" were the angels which kept not their first estate(Jude 6). I do not really know if this is true or not. One day we will know and understand all things in the Word of God. God Bless!

Bible translators really don't have good definition, that is why it is Transliterated into English rather than Translated. It is related to the concept of a "Big Man" this can mean physical size like a Giant but it can also mean a person who is important. like c Chief or leader of a group. I is also associated with a person who is not nice as a bully or tyrant. the only other appearance of the term is in Numbers 13:33.
