Is there something that we should be remembering about "THE MERCY SEAT" and the "ARK OF THE COVENANT" at this particular time?

Investigative Judgment Vs. Biblical Redemption

There is some confusion on this matter. First, there is NO such thing as "Investigative Judgment," it is an exclusive heresy of Seventh-Day Adventism.

Also, many preachers ignorantly teach that Christ's work of redemption was completed at Calvary - BUT, the blood needed to be applied to the mercyseat in Heaven.

When Jesus said, "It is finished," He hadn't yet died, been buried, or rose again.

How could the Gospel by finished if Christ hadn't even died yet? So what did Jesus mean?

In John 19:28-30, " Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled,...When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished..."

What was finished? All of the prophecies concerning Christ up until that time.

Mercy Seat:
Ex 25:21 And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark, and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.
See also Lev. 1:4, 14:20, 16:24.

The ark and the mercy seat point to Christ. As the mercy seat was a covering for the ark and the things contained therein, so is Christ our covering (propitiation).

Whisper, (continued)

Christ - our protitiation (covering):
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God,
See also 1john 2:2, and 4:10.

Hope that is helpful.

What is the mercy seat???where is it mentioned in the bible. The assumption there is a mercy seat borders on what the Argonots were searching for in the golden Fleece.Jesus explains in Matt5:7"Blessed are the merciful for they will obtain Mercy"He speaks of our actions of Mercy to those in need.He confirms this in Matt20:30 The blind man asks for mercy.By their fruit you shall know them.

the "mercy seat" is the place of atonement, and symbolizes the covering of our sins. Directly above the mercy seat is the place where God's glory cloud came and dwelt in the temple. Two cherubims were positioned on either side of the mercy seat, facing each other and giving God glory.

All through the designing of the tabernacle in Exodus-Leviticus, there is a foreshadowing of Christ to come...You should really check out a book I read that made it come alive to me..."Seeing Christ in the Tabernacle" by Ervin Hershberger. Each object and material used has symbolism that points to Christ's atonement for our sins. God bless you and hope that helps.

"I will have mercy and not sacrifice"

"the merciful will receive mercy"

the throne (seat) is for the merciful not for tyrannical people
