Why was jesus baptized at age 30 and not as an infant or at age 12 when he was asking and listening in the temple, could it be that for a man to be a priest to Israel, by law he had to be between ages 30 to 50?
Num. 4:3 From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.
first thing a priest had to do was wash.
Ex.40: 31 And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat:
32.When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed, as the Lord commanded Moses.

When a child of God sinned, he does not need to be rebaptized. He needs to ask God for forgiveness-1 John 1:9.To become a child of God, one needs to believe-Mark 16:15-16,confess-Matt.10:32-33,repent and be baptized-Acts2:38,then live a faithful and godly life.

Baptism is a one in a lifetime experience. the volume of water can be by immersion , poring or sprinkling as they are all equally valid and can be performed at any age from infancy to the extreme elderly.

If I had to get baptised everytime I felled God,I would be water logged. God is my father. I need not start a new relationship with him everytime I act like a child. I never stopped being His son.I belive baptism is a act done once to show where your heart is.

"Baptism is not about repentance"? Except you repent you cannot be saved and if you're not saved you should't be baptized. John preached the baptism of repentance. Rom 6 shows baptism to be the burrial of old and resurrection to newness of life. Repentance is one of the the qualifiers for baptism. To answer the question about being rebaptized, it's not in the Bible yes or no. I would say it certainly doesn't do any harm to rebaptize someone who has backslidden and returned.

The thief on the cross wasnt baptised. God knows your heart thats what really matters. I think everyone should be baptised but I dont think you will go to hell if you dont. There are several verses about baptism. baptised in the spirit,water,fire..I think that you just need to be the brightest light for the lost that you can by letting God use you as his tool.Lift each other up and be a good servant.Store your riches in heaven.

you only need to be baptize once but you need to repent and turn back to God.

Bill: Just because a person sins that doesn't mean they backslide on God and fell back into the world. A backslider is a person who has lost their first love and fell back into sin and into the world. If a person sins against God and does not confess and repents, then yeah through time, it will be easier for them to sin and then they will become a backslider. But a person doesn't backslide overnight. If that were the case, they never had Christ to begin with.

Baptism is not about repentance, but about publicly obeying the Lord in being immersed, and giving a public testimony to your faith. This is a one time thing, not a repeat thing.

Yes I believe when a person backslides and comes back to the Lord they should get re-baptized. Because in the book of Revelation it tells us that if a person should fall from God and lose their fist love they must repent and do their first works over. Rev 2:5. This is meaning getting re-baptized as well. A person can't pick up their relationship with Christ where they left it. They must start a whole new relationship with him.

EVERY time we backslide? Judy, often enough, I wake up backslidden and have to wait for God to correct me into His peace. If we got baptized each time we slid back...rebaptizing could become America's number one industry, except that Jesus says, "Freely you have received, freely give." (in Matthew 10:8)

If you really repent, tears of Heaven's joy will immerse you.
