Tingling Hands At Conversion

In the last few days I've had several people tell me of having tingling hands and or hot hands at the time of their conversion. And so would like to ask this question. Did you experienced heat or tingling hands at your time of conversion?

phil, I am not talking about emotions or getting the flesh worked up like some but when the Holy Spirit manifest itself, you can surely feel it. guess you wouldn't like my church because we have those services a lot.

phil, if you could feel yours you would know what real salvation is... guess you don't feel the Holy Spirit either do you?
---shira4368 on 11/28/12

Feelings, sentiments, anguish, emotions, all have their source in the soul. And the soul is in the blood.

The soul [nephesh and psuche] is connected imtimately with the flesh.
It is self-serving and biased most of the time, even in believers.

I do not need to "feel" what I have fully apprehended in my intellect. Ultimately, that is where faith is found [Ro 12:2]

Faith is not found in the soul, though the soul may enjoy its fruits.

The blisses I receive of Christ are beyond words. But those activities are not in my soul, they are in the mind.
---Phil on 11/30/12

phil, if you could feel yours you would know what real salvation is. you don't know me or anything about my salvation. If you had what I have you could surely feel it. guess you don't feel the Holy Spirit either do you? God bless and I pray you can experience the joy I have.

I am glad that you are glad that you can "feel" your salvation.

I have found my "feelings" at odds with God so frequently in this life, that I have come to distrust "feelings".

My preference is to hold to the word of God intelligently and soberly, with expectation for His return.

Joy in spirit is not equal to joy in the flesh. Neither are any other fleshly manifestations to be reckoned as being "spiritual".

Hb 11:1 Now faith is an assumption of what is being expected, a conviction concerning matters which are not being observed.

\\At seventeen, I had never heard the gospel. I knew Catholicsm only.\\

How odd. I was raised Baptist, but didn't hear the FULL Gospel until I went to an Orthodox Church. I knew Baptist doctrine only.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

phil, Im glad I have salvation I can feel. It is joy, happiness, comfort, meekness and much more. I don't want something I can't feel. some churches get some worked up with music and drama. My God is not drama but He is real. go to mohammed's grave and it is full of dead man's bones but the grave of my Savior is empty.
---shira4368 on 11/28/12

Having just enlisted for Vietnam, in boot camp we were given a "care package", toothbrush, soap, comb, etc. In it was a small Gideon's New Testament.

At seventeen, I had never heard the gospel. I knew Catholicsm only. I read this green book over and over, astonished at what it said. It was then that Christ revealed Himself in me.

I felt no tingling. But I swore allegiance to Christ at that moment.

10 years later, Satan had me backed into a corner, and God rescued me. It was a time of deep terror and anguish with great weeping. My eyes tingled, I suppose.

Salvation does not include physical sensation, it is spiritual.

The soul may become overstimulated at conversion. It is not spiritual.

I don't know about all this tingley stuff. my grandson was 10 and was spending the night with me. he woke me up at 12:30am and told me he had to get saved. I prayed and he prayed and he had a certain look on his face and he said his head was tingling. now he ain't big enough to make up that sort of stuff. when I got saved it was like I was walking on air. the Holy Spirit can make you feel good things. It is a wonderful feeling.
---shira4368 on 11/27/12

Ryan, maybe you are in the begining systems of Neuropahty. Have you got youself checked on that? The systems consist of tingling in the hands or feet, effecting your nervous system. Sometimes people do not know they have it. Many times it comes by diabetes.
---Mark_V. on 11/27/12

Yes! My hands always get tingle like when I'm at church and yesterday it was getting insane in there and my hands were began to tingle and the more I prayed for those people and sung and watched all the people gather together and pray for each other, it just intisified throw my whole body until it was overwelming and I had to go outside to get fresh air, these people telling you that a tingle in your hands is wrong do not know what they are talking about. It's great.
---Ryan_Sanson on 11/26/12

St. Paul did not ask those who had received John's baptism, "Did you receive tingly hands since you believed," but "Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed."

Decades ago, there was an article in an Orthodox magazine entitled "The Sensuous Christian," warning the reader to beware of tinglies, vapors, fontrums, and other such experiences.

There's nothing spiritual--that is, of the Holy Spirit--in any of this.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

I only hope it was true conversion and not some kind of a high, or prickly of the skin. Not true conversion. Mine thoughts were>>>Wow, there is a God and Wow there is a hell.....Have a great day, everybody. Stay true to your God, Creator, Savior.

Ok so i became a Christian..attend evangelical apostolic type church. Over time i noticed when i sing worship song my hands would feel tingly. Yes at first i wondered if i had a physical issue. I secretly hoped i was getting a gift of healing. Sometimes my hands did feel hot to others. I attended a 2 week retreat at Ellel ministries where there was teaching and a lot of worship. At some point while worshipping i felt the tingling go through to my shoulders and thought that was cool. By the end of the course it went all through my body. It was like a blockage had been removed. I now believe that the more time we sacrifice to God the more we feel God. How awesome is He!

A woman at church was praying for me. She said do you feel that heat. I said no. She said there was heat coming from my hands. A woman nearby asked if I would pray for her. I didn't feel worthy or capable. she was persistant. With reluctance I laid hands on her and quietly asked the Lord to fill her with joy. To my sutrprise she fell and joy poured forth. she was still laughing as I left for home perplexed. I know that was from God and not from me.I never tried it again. Shame on me. As the Spirit once spoke to my heart (before I knew it was scripture), Freely give as freely it has been given. And I thought that only applied to tithing...silly me.The Holy Spirit will give gifts as He chooses but he won't force us to use them.

My wife started feeling heat in her hands after a year of seeking to learn how to heal people through faith. Weeks ago she prayed for her sister and they both felt heat, and her sister's stomach pains went away. A few days later, my wife touched my hands and pray for me... Ever since then, I can feel tingles in my hands when I form the intention to minister to someone in prayer. I don't see how this can be poor circulation (which is what I wondered at first) because it comes and goes based upon my intention to minister to someone (or when I'm focusing on God). It's very interesting... I'm not sure what to think of it. Right now I just opened my hands and worshiped God and I felt an increase in tingles. I'm curious to find out more about it.

Most people that say Faith takes the place of experiance are using that for an excuse for never experiancing. Also if they state that they have reason to never dig into the deeper supernatural parts of God. It's OK if you havn't experianced God in certain ways. The Most important thing you can do is seek him first and above all things....beleive it or not, raising people from the dead is just a result of being intimate with God. He's the one in charge and the one who does these things through us anyway. Shalom and Love, Kingdomkid

Blessings to everyone, no I did not experience tingling or hot hands. What I saw was that I was a wretched sinner, heading for hell and needed a Savior. Only the convicting power of the Holy Spirit could have opened my heart to understand the Good news of the Gospel. Now by God's Grace through faith in Jesus Christ am I Heaven born and Heaven bound. God Bless!

I got the knowledge of the tingling hand scenario from Derek Prince, If you care to find out about you can read about it in his book --they shall expel demons--

I was saved as a child of ten but because some young people told me of 'being slain in the spirit'or seeing 'a ball of light'or 'speaking in tongues' I came to believe that I wasn't saved. I was grown before a preacher told me I had been saved but didn't have assurance. Others may have these experiences at conversion but no one should imply that everyone must experience these things. We all are unique.

Jack...You are so right. So many Christians get caught up in the latest charismatic fad. Each persons conversion is as varied as people are different. I have seen very shy, quiet people become extremely bold for the Lord after their salvation. I have also seen some very loud, obnoxious people become meek and mild upon accepting Jesus Christ. Then there are those who go to the altar constantly expecting to be "slain in the spirit" while their lives are full of adultery, lying, hatred, etc.
---Susie on 11/29/07

Its not hot nor tingling, its FAIHT.

When you receive Jesus by FAITH there is no need of experience.

For FAITH is the substance of things hope for, evidence of things un seen.

When one feels or experence something it is no longer of faith, and without FAITH IT IS IMPOSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD.
---LIONEL on 11/28/07

In the desert times, when we're all alone with God, and cannot hear His audible Voice through the Holy Spirit, are the times that we must rely completely on our faith in God and His Word to carry us through.
---Michelle on 11/28/07

There will be times when you have no physical experiences. Times in the desert, when you cannot physically hear God's Voice speaking to you every day. You know that He's there, but His Voice is not audible in your spirit as it was in your first years of salvation. The first years are full of experiences and excitement. The first months are the purest, it seems. Every prayer is answered, you are conscious of every word that you utter that is not pleasing to God.

People turn to the occult for experiences and physical evidence, power.
God's power is greater. His ways and thoughts are higher than our ways.

John 20
Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe. 28 Thomas answered him, My Lord and my God! 29 Jesus said to him, Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.
---Michelle on 11/28/07

30 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. 31 But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name."
---Michelle on 11/28/07

God is not dogmatic, people are.
God is not dull, or repetitious. Serving God is very exciting and not without experiences that move you to press in deeper.
Experiences or senses can be moving because we are human. God did not remove our senses when we became one of His children, but we cannot be moved more by our senses than our faith in God alone.
---Michelle on 11/28/07

If your hands tingle, it may be poor circulation. Perhaps see a physician?

Before I converted over to Christ. I was in church with my family. The Holy Ghost was on me like bees on honey. The longer I sat there, the harder the seat got which were cushioned. I knew God was dealing with me, my heart was pounding up to my throat, my hands were hot and sweaty. If there was a sign on my forehead it would have read, Yes I'm under conviction. I couldn't sit there no more. I passed my son to my sister and I got up and went to the alter and fell at Jesus' feet. Oh Happy Day.

Sounds to me something that will become a new go-to-Mecca for pop-evangelicals, right between slain in the spirit and the so-called glory experience.

when converted its all in the tensions
but when one ministers to another and has the warm hands can say that is the Holy Spirit at work within you all
---tonmso on 11/26/07

Absolutely not. I sat there a few minutes feeling relief. Then I got up and ran to look for a Bible.
