Absolutely correct calhoon
Gen 5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in HIS own likeness, and after his image, and called his name Seth:

That's Right Lisa.
The fleshly part of the Almighty God Is the Only way we can see Him. In that image we are created.

First, GOD is Three-in-ONE (IJohn 5:7, John 1:1-14). GOD is the Father YAHUVEH, the Son YAHUSHUA (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit SHKHINYAH. In Genesis GOD said "...let Us make man in Our Image...male and female created He them." Men are made in the Father's Masculine Image. Women are made in the Holy Spirit's Feminine Image. And a man and woman produce sons and daughters just as YAHUSHUA is the "Son" of GOD. The Holy Trinity is the Pattern for the human family.

Unto us a Son is given,
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

notlaw, I will try to remember all that lingo when I'm out in the street corners witnessing to the lost. I know there is a NT and OT difference in the word soul, but when I witness to people I can't get into the greek and hebrew meanings of words. I have to quickly get inside their heart, not their head. But I understand your point.

Mankind was created in the Image of the True Holy Family, the Holy Trinity. GOD is Three-in-ONE (I John 5:7). Three Distinct Persons in ONE. God the Father YAHUVEH, God the Son YAHUSHUA (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit (SHKHINYAH). Men were made in the Masculine Image of the Father. Women were made in the Feminine Image of the Holy Spirit. The human family of father, mother and child(ren) are in the Image of the Trinity. GOD said "Let Us make man in Our Image...male and female created He them."

man was made a living spirit.you have the capacity to love, compassion, reason, create, forgive, animals have a soul, but not a spirit.only man was made with a spirit.only man has a conscience.a sense of right and wrong.

Hi, in my opinion, the gift of humor is one of the ways we are like God. I mean, animals don't know humor, but we do, which tells me that must be a part of God :) I am grateful, humor is really helping me in stress currently, it is a gift from God in my opinion.

Donna, you have miss used SOUL in your post. SOUL In Old Testament usage SOUL is from the Hebrew term Nephesh [Strong's 5315] simply meaning a breathing creature, not spiritual essence. And this is a consistent Old Testament usage of the term. In New Testament Greek usage SOUL means spiritual essence. But it is linguistically and theologically improper to apply the New Testament definition to Old Testament verse usage. "God created man as a living soul [living creature]" would be correct usage.

God formed man from dust and breathed the breath of Life into Him. God created man with a soul, spirit and a body. He made the body first out of dust, gave man a soul (mind, will and emotions) and breathed His Spirit into man and man then became alive.

Man was created to resemble, mirror, manifest and represent, in a similar manner, the attributes & attitude of the Father. Man was given the ability to demonstrate the Fathers ability to reason and to make rational choices based on mental deduction and logic, rather than instincts alone. It is that ability that constitutes His image and likeness. Man's God given ability to receive, comprehend, reflect and articulate the mindset of Christ, separates the man from the beast.

Well...one thing he wasn't...he was not made incapable of giving in to evil. However..."God is love" (in 1 John 4:8 & 16), so God is feeling and personal and sensitive. And man can feel and be personally loving and sensitive to the feelings of others...very improvably, in my case. But that's the main thing > God is feeling > He can have me feeling what He is feeling, in His love (((o: (Romans 5:5, 1 Corinthians 6:17, James 4:7)
