Christian Clean Humor Okay

I see nothing wrong with clean humor. However, some Christians think anything funny is sin. Any comments?

There isn't nothing wrong with good clean humor. The reason why some people think it is wrong is because they've been eating sour grapes all day long, and aren't in love with life. At times I give my Pastor jokes to read aloud before church to make one smile. Not every church service, but it is good to have fun in church. It is also good to be serious in church. One just needs to know when to draw the line.

Laughter is good for the soul. If we didn't have humor, life would be so boring!

Donna, I didn't find that one a LOL, ha ha.
There are some things that should not be used as fodder for jokes and the bible is one of them.
And when someone uses LOL ha ha, I never find it as funny as someone else strongly suggests. It takes the funny right out of it for me.

Kella: People who think anything funny is sin are scripturally out of balance. (Pv. 15:13,15 & 17:22) The Bible shows Jesus good-naturedly (innocently) & frequently used witicisms ("clean humor") to make moral points while setting people at ease & causing them to laugh.

Some Christians think ANYTHING pleasurable is a sin.

Don't know why they're so worried about going to H*ll. They've focused so much on the uglinesses of this world, they might just as well stay put.

Laughter is good medicine for the soul.

Job 8:21
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.

Genesis 21:6
Sarah said, "God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me."

Psalm 126:2
Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them."

Haven't you heard Jesus's mother in law joke? You know how they say mother in laws can be a nuiscence? and how some interfere? Well the closest Jesus ever came to making a mistake was when he healed Peter's mother in law. LOL

Someone once told me Jesus never laughed or told any jokes. All I can say is that there is absolutely no proof to that statement. Jesus' laughter or joking may not be recorded but that doesn't mean he didn't. Joking around can get out of hand and dirty jokes are never called for but to be happy is good medicine. It certainly beats bitterness.

I'm thinking sometimes God must look down on us and laugh. We take ourselves entirely too seriously sometimes. When I think of "jesting" I think of mean sarcasm, rude or crude humor. That of course, is not okay, but in my opinion, God created humor! If anyone knows true humor, it's him, right? By the way, what did the preacher say to his salad? Lettuce pray!

Blessings Kella, there is nothing wrong with good clean humor. Luke 6:21, Blessed are ye that hunger now, for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now, for ye shall laugh. God gave us emotions and laughter is one that I believe is good for the soul. God Bless!

Definitions of humour vary.
If you're messing with people's heads and find it funny, it's not funny.
If you're having a laugh at others' expense, it's not funny.
If you only have so much time on earth while the devil roars around seeking whom he may devour, it's better to stay vigilant and sober and keep your eyes open.

Here is where they are getting that idea.
Ephesians 5:3-4, 3 "But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints,"
4 "Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor JESTING, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks"
