You cannot reason or discuss scripture with those who are caught up in the Word of Faith Movement because they have been brainwashed by false teachers.

I see no difference in this and what happened with the people of followed Jim Jones and David Karesh.

The love of money is the root of all evil, Amen?
---Bigfoot on 12/6/07

Money is not evil. The love of it is evil.If you can be trusted to use money wisely God will give it to you (I'm not talking about it dropping from heaven)he/she who does not work shall not eat.I am well aware we can work with our brains as well as our hands.

bigfodonna, crystals, magic wands, chants, etc., are obvious demonic and worldly things. Money is not so obvious in the Kingdom of God. In other words. Christians need money, they don't need crystals, magic wands, so your comparing apples to sour milk. Amen?

donna, if carnal ears were only hearing the part about money - would it only be carnal ears hearing the part crystals, magic wands, chants, and astral projection?
Or would that be spiritual ears discerning truth from false. Amen?
---Bigfoot on 12/5/07

I know who you are referring to donna, and yes, even his brother, who was actually on a Mississippi River boat, also has a ministry of his own. They both have very interesting testimonies.
I understand your admiration for both of these men. So many similarities.

Perhaps, you've heard the brother, "Mark", speak, yes?
Good speaker, very interesting stories about his days on the Mississsippi River.

Kella, what exactly is the "faith movement?" The prosperity gospel is not biblical at all. However, when I listen to a certain preacher who's name I won't mention, I am hearing he's teaching on prospering in ALL of your ways. Prospering in Peace in your life. Prospering in Joy in your life, in God's love in your life. I know he talks about money, and I think that's all the carnal ears are hearing. "Let him who hears, hear what the Spirit is saying" not what the flesh is saying. Amen?

Both these movements are intended to be used for others. It depends totally on what you do with your prosperity and faith. Some use it for themselves to heap riches up. Just because they use riches and faith imporoperly doesn't mean they are evil and that we should avoid them.

Yes I agree that prosperity preachers are self-serving.-- but strangely the positive confession message has some truth in it and can work to a person's advantage. The Bible nowhere records God as being negative. Therefore it is incumbent upon us to be positive about all things, including our finances.

If you want a true answer to this question, read the articles regarding ORU in the Tulsa World newspaper. Truths are starting to come out. One interesting thing is that people had accused Lindsey Roberts of having a 2000 square foot closet. Her answer was that it is not 2000 sq ft. It is only 540 sq ft. That's about the size of half of a modest home. Sounds self-serving to me.

God is watching, I want to say that each individual is uniquely different, and how one person uses his money is not like the other, there is a story in the Bible of three individual men, all given a measure of money, and when God questioned what did you do with the money I gave you each responded different bottom line, the one who used his lot wisely, GOD BLESSED AND INCREASED.
