MarkV, you cannot accept Scripture.

Now if you don't believe this...Hebrews 10, that the Jews were warned not to insult the Spirit of Grace, Trample underfoot the Son of God, AFTER coming to the Knowledge of the truth have only 2 options here to conclude...

1. YOU, if YOU continue to sin (after receiving the Knowledge of the Truth) are in great danger of God's Wrath and vengence since your definition of YOU would be (Only those who are Born Again....

2. OR YOU, being an unsaved person CAN come to the knowledge of the truth that Jesus died for our sin...and reject THAT knowlede....then THEY are in danger.

Who is in danger MarkV....YOU the only one who has knowledge?

Zepheniah 3:2 "She obeyed not the voice, she received not correction, she trusted not in the LORD, she drew not near to her God"--this 'received not' is used the same way..she was given, but she rejected... she received not. Conversely, Luke 10:38 "Now it came to pass, as they went, that He entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received Him into her house." Now here, Jesus was accepted into Martha's house... she received Him.. Those in 2Thes 2:10 heard the Truth, but rejected it's application... received not the love of the Truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:12 continues the thought as it reads "That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

Kathr, you cannot except correction and you argue throwing things every time. You are not looking for the Truth, you are looking to continue to argue at the expense of God's Word for your own gratification, for nothing you have put down from Calvin to Israel to passages in Scripture have you had right. You only hurt yourself with your actions here. I know you are smart, smarter then me I should say, since you know that by my answer to Alan and others, but you have the wrong purpose, and no matter how educated you are it all means nothing if it is not for Christ.

***Nowhere in 2 Thess. 2:10 does it say they refused anything given to them. It only says ... "they did not receive the love of the truth" pretty simple passage.***

YES!!!It's SO Simple MarkV.

Is this what Alan is talking about???? Not understanding plain English?

What exactly do you think the Love of the Truth is?

The LOVE is.."For God so loved the World He gave His only Begotten Son"...the truth is....whosoever believes on Him will be saved FROM THE WRATH TO COME.

Romans 5:9
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

How many WRATHS to come are there? There is only ONE...UNO,ENIS,UN,OOM....
---kathr4453 on 5/7/09

Kathr, nowhere in 2 Thess. 2:10 does it say they refused anything given to them. It only says they were blinded by the enemy, and that they parish because, "they did not receive the love of the truth" pretty simple passage.
And the passage goes on to say, "that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness"
That passage does not say they refused to believe the truth because he had just said, they did not receive it, they just didn't believe and were going to be judge for having pleasure in unrighteousness.

"Irresistible grace" is the doctrine that those chosen by God to be saved
cannot resist the grace offered them by the Holy Spirit. Supposedly, they
have no choice but to accept it.

*A. *Acts 6:8-10, 7:51-60

Actually, the Holy Spirit can be resisted.

*B. *Joshua 24:15, 1st Kings 18:21

The scriptures affirm man's free will. Why would Joshua instruct Israel to
choose either God or idols if God did not allow them the ability to do so? Why
would Elijah refer to the service of God or idols as opinions if the people
were powerless to choose?

"It also Proves without a doubt there is no such thing as God predestening anyone to HELL because He refused to give anyone this truth that Jesus died for our sin."

HERE is the PROOF with out a DOUBT.

No one can REFUSE what has not been given. If someone refuses something it is that something OFFERED FIRST that was refused.

I can't refuse a coke if I was never offered one to begin with.

They REFUSED the Love of the truth JESUS...ALL men are offered LIFE through Jesus Christ. SCRIPTURE testified of Him through the prophets, JESUS Himself spoke to us ..not US the elect, but US mankind...Hebrews 1.

He's not some battery that only has so many clicks of life in it.

Thanks Moderator, this one is easy.

Those who have rejected the truth (Jesus), having been decieved by unrighteousness will perish. Duh?
---larry on 5/6/09

Kath 2, Prove without a doubt. Sounds to me like you want people to believe without doubting, something that is not true. "They did not receive the love of the Truth" Lets see, when you receive something it is because you don't have it. So in order to receive you have to get it from someone. I suppose Alan can help me with my English. I must be reading this wrong. Or is Kathr correct?
---MarkV. on 5/6/09

The Truth 2: If these people had received the love of the Truth they would be save. But they didn't receive it. It was not in their power to receive it since they were blinded to the gospel. They needed the Spirit to bring light to the gospel. Without that light they continue blind. God has to help them in the state they are in. If the devil can blind them, God can unblind them. For the devil is not more powerful then God. In the last days God will sovereignly seal the fate of those who follow Satan and his counterfeit Christ. Those who are blinded habitually reject the truth and are judged by been left to the consequences of their sin.
---MarkV. on 5/6/09

MarkV, now calvin may have messed wwith your mind on this one, but, THEY REFUSED the Love of teh Truth..the Gospel, that THEY might be saved, AND because of this, God is going to send them strong delusions BECAUSE NOW after rejecting the Truth FIRST, that they might be saved, they have only one other option believe the lie.

The wrath of God is coming on those who REJECTED the GOSPEL MarkV....The GOOD NEWS that they could be saved through jesus Christ!
---kathr4453 on 5/6/09

Kahtr's interpretations of 2 Thess 2:10 is wrong. The passage states nothing to the fact that God doesn't predestine anyone when she stated,
"It also Proves without a doubt there is no such thing as God predestening anyone to HELL because He refused to give anyone this truth that Jesus died for our sin."
I suppose if she had read it the passage she would see she is wrong.
here is what it says,"and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the Truth, that they might be saved." They parish by the deception of Satan's impose blindness to the truth of the saving gospel.

Mark Eaton, I agree. The end times includes teh anti-christ coming with lying signs and wonders, and THIS is the strong delusion that will overtake many.

As we see today, many will and have already fallen into this false area....this IS the beginning of the falling away...(ASOSTASY). Interestingly, the Asuza Street Revivals, (((The Asuza Street revival of 1906-1909 ushered into existence the worldwide twentieth century Pentecostal renewal))), seem to be the beginning and has sparked many already following. These false followers will continue to follow and give anti-christ his platform to stand and lure many!

The verse is continuation of the sentence that starts in verse 8 which is a continuation of the thought that is ended in verse 4. To restate that, verses 5-7 are a separate parenthetical thought.

This is an end times passage. The "they" in verse 10 are people who were not saved, even though they heard the truth. Verse 11 says that that God will send a deluding influence upon those who did not get saved so that they will not believe the truth.

This verse confirms what many believe about the Tribulation, that fewer than expected will be saved.
---Mark_Eaton on 5/2/09

The answer to this question and verse in 2 Thess 2:10 is that the GOSPEL is the Truth that saves. For God so LOVED the World.

It also Proves without a doubt there is no such thing as God predestening anyone to HELL because He refused to give anyone this truth that Jesus died for our sin.

God Loved us while we were yet sinners, and sent His Son, to take our sin, and die in our place, so that we could have LIFE in Him.

God cannot punish anyone if He refused to offer them something they could receive. All CAN receive Christ, but not all will, as you see in this verse....they refused God's LOVE! God NEVER refused them the opportunity.

2Thesalonians 2:3-12 concerns the Antichrist, and non Christians.
The verse most people would ask about is verse 11 as compared to Pharaoh in Exodus 7:13, 9:12, 10:1, 20, 27, 11:10, 14:8, & Romans 9:17-18, also, John 12:40, Romans 1:24.

God will punish men for their unbelief, and for their dislike of the truth and love to sin and wickedness. God sometimes with-draws His grace from such sinners.
---catherine on 12/28/07

I strongly agree with Cynthia's answer to this question.

There is a Truth that is revealed to individuals by the Spirit of God evident in His word. (John 17:17). Jesus was, IS and continues being this truth (John 14:6,17, Jn 15:7). Believers must abide (stand/stay/move forward) in this truth after He has revealed it. OR they will not be saved (2Thess 2:13b).
Being in love with Jesus who is Jehovah GOD- knowing this truth will save us. PERIOD.

Satan have his people, and they carry his
image, his tricks, his behavior, and all that he stand for.
Under the time-span of the 2nd of the 7
hidden seals 2 beasts shall come forth. They both represent ministers of satan.
The mark of the beast shall be coordinated
by these 2 followers of him.

"Since they will not believe, that could had been a one scripture, the truth. God allows them to believe a LIE. >>>That's my God you know the loving God that everybody wants you to preach about. These people will not be able to blame God for being lost, They refused to believe the word of God and be saved. They refused to believe the gospel message, for what it was the word of God. My friends, are you truly saved by the Blood of Jesus Christ. Hell is forever and it is HOT. Total sep. from God.

deceivableness > look at how Satan was in Heaven itself and was deceived into thinking Heaven wasn't good enough the way it was, plus thought he could take over to make things better > this shows how much in sin one can "miraculously" fool one's own self. And ones can so trick their own selves and not know we are doing so. So, we need to trust You...very openly to show us how we are fooling ourselves and don't realize this (o:

Pt.2 "Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things come the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be ye not therefore partakers with them. For many will come in My name saying I am [Christ], and shall deceive many. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it. For the LORD knows how to deliver the Godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgement to be punished."

This verse references the delusions of the Spurious messiah. His deceptive proclamation of savior, and his promise of peace, prosperity, safety and the escape, deliverance and protection of his deceived followers from the pending wrath of God. Causing many to depart from the truth concerning the true second coming of Christ and to make the fatal decision to follow him. Thus becoming a voice advocating his deception rather than one that stands against him. 2Thes. 2:3,4>1Thes. 5:3 Mat. 24:26 Cont.

Well, when we read in the first part of chapter 2 we find that the writer is talking about a falling away and the son of perdition being revealed. From these things comes the many different chuches. My Bible says "ONE lord ONE faith ONE baptism".Through history and time THE CHURCH became CHURCHES.
---donald on 12/12/07

and people who didn't like something about the church changed it.Truth is Truth and we,wether we like it or not, should obey Truth. You and I must recieve a love of the truth and follow it.Because if not we MIGHT not be saved.God may send us strong dillusion that we might believe a lie. This is what has happened over time. This is also why we have so many different churches
---donald on 12/12/07

This verse is talking about those who hear and refuse to receive the Truth. Some People today do not want to hear the message of the Gospel, they are too much in love with the World. They do not see themselves in the light of what they are, sinners who need a Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ. God Bless!
