Do You Have The Holy Ghost

Using Acts 1:8,"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea" can you say that you have the power of the Holy Ghost?

Krause :: while you may be right You are also WRONG .You say Repent & the Holy spirit enters, but leaves just as fast if you commit sin. God does Not reside in an unclean body, hence the phrase"Your body is a temple of the Holy spirit" IF it is pure, defiled you are an empty shell like jesus said "A whitened sepulchre full of dead mens bones"The Holy spirit is God the 3rd person of the Blessed Trinity not some imaginary Being flitting in & out the window.

"MikeM - the sad thing about you is that even you can't be happy with what you believe - Is that not smug and presumptuous are those Christ-like behaviors?

"The day of Pentecost was about Power to witness Thats a allegation you offer, but crass intolerance towards others of different beliefs, obvious crippling myopia, and smugness undue that claim.

The fact that what Pentecostals perform has been proven biochemical invalidating thier claim.
---MikeM on 1/23/08

the Bible never said you had to be perfect to recive the Holy Spirit. Far from it. Peter said if you repent and are baptized in Jesus name it is PROMISED to you. to all that are afar off (thats us) EVERYONE the Lord shall call. when you repent you are perfect in Gods eyes and therefore worthy thru His blood. The Spirit gives you power to live above sin, if you could do that without the Spirit, well then you wouldnt need Him would you. Jesus on the inside working on the outside!
---Kraus on 1/22/08

Acts1:8 is crystal clear.People forget that the Holy Spirit is god the 3rd person of the Blessed Trinity & not a commodity which is obtainable at a gas station when you ask "Fill me up"Mary was filled by the graces of the holy spirit, who overshadowed Her.Do not be deluded by what you believe to be the Holy spirit.yes even those who claim to be Pentacostals. To earn the gifts of the Holy spitit "one must be perfect"

Good Job Andrea, Ditto!
The Power of The Holy Ghost is Obtainable!
Don't let the Foolish and Unlearned Men/women of today tell you any differant.
For someone to say otherwise is calling GOD A LIAR! Woe unto them that bring offences & Blaspheme the Word of God, IF You Don't want to learn about the POWER of God The Hard Way I would be very careful NON-Believers...It's a Terrible thing when the hand of God comes down on you!
---Duane_M on 1/22/08

I do. And any born again believer does. If a person that caaims to be saved but does not have the baptism of the Holy Ghost that person is a liar.
---catherine on 1/22/08

MikeM - the sad thing about you is that -- even you can't be happy with what you believe.
You too Dr Rich

The day of pentecost was about Power to witness.

and yes you should be constantly refilled...
through prayer, fasting and worship

Just as the apostles recieved salvation when jesus blew on them and then power on Pentecost
---Andrea on 1/22/08

I was reading through these blogs and was shocked to read that 1 man here called the apostle Paul false after all the work and what he did for our LORD.I am truly shocked and would be sorry to be in his shoes if he doesn't repent.
---shirley on 1/7/08

The holy ghost is the power, spirituality
and guildence of The Almighty God.
It shall come to pass that this knowledge
shall be the lesion that bring all God's
children into one spirit. As is written:
there is one body, one spirit, one lord,
one faith ,one baptism and one God.
---Jack_8773 on 12/24/07

Andrea, once you are filled with HG,He never leaves you unless you become so vile and sinful, for HG won't inhabit unclean Temple. What you truely need is just to exercise the HG with prayers and worship, keep the fire burning. God Bless

iooo people from a 1000 denominations with a 1000 condradictory theologies all claim to be guided by the Holy spirit. All subjective to say the least. Now God is confused, or man is.

Objective-Who of these can claim authority to act in Gods name? I will say this, where flowery rhetoric and emotive hoopla is held at a premium, their is where an abundance of deception can be found.
---MikeM on 12/21/07

Yes I have the power of the Holy Spirit, but I also need to be refilled all the time. Hopefully everyday. It is what stops my heart from growing cold toward this wicked world and toward my own wicked heart.
Praise God, fill me afresh Lord Jesus.
---Andrea on 12/21/07

If you have been saved by faith in Jesus finish WORK{death burial resurection},you have the HOLY GHOST.

The only thing wrong with your statement is you left out so many others on this blog.

I gest those two are a start.
---lionel on 12/21/07

Dr rich, why is it that you say not to believe anything Paul says? How long have you felt this way? Is this the common belief in a church you attend?
---Kella3336 on 12/21/07

The Holy Ghost is very dangerous ground to tread upon. One false statement and you are doomed. That Spirit of truth will guide us into all truth. That truth will not speak of itself, but glorify Jesus Christ our Lord.
It was given on the day of Pentecost to the faithful who assembled.
When those present received it they spake in other tongues as the Spirit gave utterance and glorified Christ Jesus.

The word says that she that tarried at home divided the spoil and those who tarried at Jerusalem as commanded by the Lord did indeed receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Like Noah, they were assembled with a desire to do just what the Lord commanded in Godly fear of he who can cast both body and soul into hell. Their diligence and fear was rewarded with the gift that is the power of God.
---Frank on 12/20/07

It was that gift that took Peter from denying the Lord 3 times to being one who would be in and out of prison many times by having the faith and guts to speak the word of God regardless of who it offended. That is the gift, power and even conversion that the Lord meant when he said "when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren."
---Frank on 12/20/07

That gift is the power of the arm that the daughter of the king of the south shall not retain. That southern kingdom being this world with a counsel darkened by those who speak the word without knowledge having not the Spirit. A carnal church in which the Spirit of God has left. A fleshly kingdom in which those who are commanded to come out and be seperate have turned back like dogs to their vomit to covet it's goods.
---Frank on 12/20/07

That is also the Spirit that the Lord our God has promised to every child that will tarry at Jerusalem. It si the Spirit that will rightly divide the word of truth and give a Spirit of boldness to the weakest individual to preach the word even when faced with death and torture. It will preach who Jesus is and why he came from the laws and prophets in the midst of great opposition.

It will preach the blood of the cross and do it in a way in which no flesh may glory using men of low estate who are seen as ignorant and unlearned. The filth and the offscouring of all things. But in all things it will preach things scripturally sound and just as the Lord reveals to it.
And yes, that is the Holy Ghost I have.
And I hope it is the Holy Ghost others here have.
---Frank on 12/20/07

The 12 received the Holy Spirit because they had repented and had no sin. Everyone of us can do the same. 1st John states what has been in the past, but in the future there will be people without sin because it has been forgiven for they have repented. (Rev.3:4) Linda, What do you mean by "RD"?
---Dr._Rich on 12/19/07

Preach on Frank. Dr. Rich, you should drop the doctorate, stop writing your heretical posts and become as a little child as much learning doth make thee mad. You are treading on very dangerous ground and you better take heed lest you fall.
---ShaunT on 12/19/07

1 John 1:8,9
[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And to think that I trusted that John was saved and had the Holy Ghost.

Dr. Rich, what did you do with RD?
---lovable_linda on 12/19/07

Yes, I would agree that you would have the same spirit as was given on the day of Pentacost. This was an evil spirit. The Holy Spirit comes in a still small voice. It was given in the upper room By Jesus to the 12. (John 20:22) Peter said things about the Joel prophecy that was not true and the Holy Spirit would not have allowed that. Paul was a false apostle so don't trust anything he ever said!
---Dr._Rich on 12/19/07

Dr.Rich. If no one can have the Holy Spirit if there is any sin in them then I would safely guess that even the Apostle Paul himself would'nt qualify seeing he admitted to doing wrong and not doing the things he was supposed to. I do wrong things also but I can tell you I have the Holy Spirit just as the boys did on Pentecost. What they did, I do, by the same Spirit that lives and anoints me.
---john on 12/19/07

Susie, you do carry the snidely whiplash role of the group. I like the others that live, move, and have their very being dipped in sweetness, and can raise the dead.

No one can receive or have the Holy Spirit if they have any sin in them! (John 14:21) People who call themselves christians and say they have the Holy Spirit are liars if they do NOT keep all of the ten commandments. Telling God you love Him does no good, you MUST show him! Read all of John 14 and you will have the answer.
---Dr._Rich on 12/19/07

See Act 2:38 When a person is saved they receive the Holy Spirit and are sealed by the holy spirit
---len on 12/19/07

Jack....Maybe you need to reconsider which spirit you have!!!!
---Susie on 12/19/07

Another litmus test.

If you've bragged about all you've done for the Lord, great exploits, and you've actually accomplished none of them - you had better repent.

Every idle word that comes from your mouth will be judged. Even if you've considered it great fun to mess with the rest of our heads, God has read every false account and false testimony - you have one of those, you better cease and desist from telling them.

Yes, and please let me explain what that Power is used for. Most think it's used to heal people, etc., But I have the Power of the Holy Spirit to forgive my enemies, to let the Love of God pour out into other's lives, to care for the sick and the homeless, to Worship God in Spirit and in Truth, to take authority over the devil. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power that we who have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit have.
---Donna on 12/19/07

Yes. And with the Holy Spirit, I can discern lies.
---lovable_linda on 12/19/07

All Christians have the Holy Ghost. If you're speaking of the baptisim of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in unknown tongues I have that too.As do many other Christians.
---shirley on 12/19/07

Here's a litmus test.

After all the resumes and stories that have been told on CN...

Can you show your face at the CN office without shame?

Could you walk in and say, I'm so and so, and would your story match up with who you really are?

The Bible says we shall know them by their fruits.

If you've told the truth, you would have no problem walking through those doors and taking them out for lunch.

If you've played too many roles and told too many fabrications, this will not ever be possible.
You will not be able to show your face.

The real litmus test - Does God know the real you?
---lovable_linda on 12/19/07

Yes, I can say I do.

I can also say on the basis of his posts that Mima doesn't.
