Am I A Saved Person

I've heard that there are certain people that are saved and thats that. Nothing anybody can do about it. How do I know if I'm one of them because I just don't think I am. I've been baptised, I pray, ask God for forgiveness, but I still feel far from God. Is this the devil playing with my mind or what?

If you do not think that you are saved, you are not saved. When someone is truly saved, the new birth, it is not a guessing game. Pen the tail on the donkey time.

Cynthia, You are 100% correct. What's more, I'm sure that Satan loves to see Christians bicker about utter nonsense. I can almost see him whispering and fanning the flames of intolerance. It's Easter 2008, and we're so far away from getting it right. We should be loving each other, not trying to prove to each other that "I'm so right and you're so wrong!"
---Deb on 3/22/08

No, it is not Satan. I come from a family in which they all think they are saved. There is just one problem, Jesus has never saved them through His Blood. My friend, if you don't think that you are saved, then you are not saved. I believe that you may have a better chance of getting saved than some people who thinks they are saved and are going to wound up in hell. They think they are on the road to heaven and will fall so short of it.

John 3:15 states that whoever believes in Jesus Christ will "have eternal life." If you believe in Christ today and have eternal life, but lose it tomorrow, then it was never "eternal" at all. Hence if you lose your salvation, the promises of eternal life in the Bible would be in error.
---Court7646 on 3/3/08

For the most conclusive argument,I think Scripture says it best itself,"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord". Remember the same God who saved you is the same God who will keep you.Once we are saved we are always saved. Our salvation is most definitely eternally secure!
---Court7646 on 3/3/08

If Christ=Savior, you're in a relationship with God that guarantees your salvation as eternally secure.Numerous passages of Scripture declare this fact.Romans8:30 declares,"And those He predestined,He also called, those He called,He also justified, those He justified,He also glorified."This verse tells us,from the moment God chooses us,it's as if we are glorified in His presence in heaven.Once a person is justified, his salvation is guaranteed-he is as secure as if he is already glorified in heaven.

Paul asks 2 crucial ? in Romans8:33-34"Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.Who is he that condemns?Christ Jesus, who died more than that, who was raised to life-is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us."Who will bring a charge against God's elect? No one will, because Christ is our advocate.Who will condemn us?No one will, because Christ, the One who died for us,is the one who condemns. We have both the advocate and judge as our Savior.

Believers are born again (regenerated) when they believe (John 3:3, Titus 3:5). For a Christian to lose his salvation, he would have to be un-regenerated. The Bible gives no evidence that the new birth can be taken away. (d) The Holy Spirit indwells all believers (John 14:17, Romans 8:9) and baptizes all believers into the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13). For a believer to become unsaved, he would have to be "un-indwelt" and detached from the Body of Christ.

Feeling you are saved is not the same as actually being saved. See the last of the 7 churches in Rev.3 and you will find these people thought they were in need of nothing. They thought grace, love and faith would save them, but they were wrong because they believed a lie (Rev. 21:8/22:15). NO one is saved until Jesus comes, or they die while seeking truth about God. Remember, there is NO grace in the Ten Virgin Prophecy!

He who endures to the end will be saved. Mt24:13(You'll know you're saved when you're in heaven.)
---janet on 2/15/08

Jesus said that if we love him, we will obey his commands. Ask youself if you have followed what the bible says you need to do to be saved, and if you have, then, stand on the word, refusing to allow doubt. Study the scriptures, to draw closer to God, along with prayer, and seeking his presence.
---Gayla on 2/13/08

The devil can read the Bible, pray, and go to church, is he a Christian - NO. The devil believes in God, Jesus, Heaven, and Hell, is he a Christian - NO. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord (boss) and Savior, and you have repented (turned away from) you sin - you are a Christian. However, you can loose your salvation Revelation 3:5 - your name can be blotted out.

That's false soul sleep doctrine.
If one should die this year, do you think your spirit is going to rest in the ground?
Soul sleep is followed by the SDA church and other cults.
---Cindy on 2/13/08

Truth be known, no one is saved yet. Many may have God abiding in their hearts but they won't be saved until Jesus comes back. but as far as you not believing you are a Christian, only you can answer that. It takes faith and keeping the faith that one is forgiven by God. I know that I am forgiven? How? Because I asked God with a sinceir heart and I abide in him everyday and he in me.
---Rebecca_D on 2/13/08

The Christian faith is based on facts/evidences and not on feeling. According to 1 John 5:13, one can know that he/she has eternal life. To be saved one needs to believe the Gospel(Mark 16:15-16),repent and be baptized(Mark 16:15-16,Acts 2:38). The Lord will then add that person to His church(Acts 2:47).The person must then continue to live a faithful life to Jesus Christ.

" Seek the Help of His Mother who brings all souls to His divine heart.Happy new year. "
---Emcee on 12/31/07
Where is this statement in the Bible? The Bible does say in John 6:37"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." This scripture, however has makes no reference to His mother .

The word "whosoever" from the word "Pas" Pasa, from the fem. Pan, from the neut. Meaning, every, all. It could mean the individuals within the totality and the totality of the individuals. It can stand alone as in the case of pas, anyone and everyone, "therefore, anyone and everyone who hear" John 3:16, Matt. 7:24. In John 3:16, it says, anyone or everyone who believes will not perish, but have everlasting life." Only the amount that believe.
---Mark_V. on 12/31/07

People that hold this view that you refere to are calling God a liar. Read in the gospel of John, chapter 3 verse 16. It's uses the word, "whosoever" not some people will be saved. The devil will play with your mind, but we have Ephesians chaper 6 starting with verse 12 to assist us in the battle with the devil. The most important fact is, have you accepted Christ as your Saviour? Going to church, and praying won't 'cut it' without Christ as Saviour.
---wivv on 12/29/07

Jesus said repent.LK 13:3 Asking for forgiveness is different than repenting. Repent is turning away from your sinful nature & actions to follow G-d's way. Your salvation, your right to enter heaven, is based on your obedience to G-d's commandments, not your merit of works.Rev22:14. Repentence is your first action of obedience,so submit yourself to G-d thru your actions of obedience, resist living by your old sinful ways and the devil will flee from you.James4:7

Hi Sue, the devil is a liar, and has been from the beginning. The devil wants you to doubt your salvation. Do not believe this lie. The fact that you are concerned about this is a positive indicator that you are saved. A person that is not saved would not even give this a second thought, or a first. Remember that the devil tempted Adam and Eve to doubt God, and they believed him. Believe God, because HE is not the author of confusion.
---Cynthia on 12/26/07

Sue, everybody always gives credit to the devil for everything. Remember, he is not Omniscience. He cannot even read your mind. Plus, he has been defeated already. There is many ways to know if you are saved or not.
1. Do you have a true love for Christ? it is not possible to be save and not love Christ with all of your heart.
2. Are you seeking Christ and His kingdom? Only those who are born again seek the Kingdom of God.
---Mark_V. on 12/26/07

3. Does the Spirit witness to your spirit, that you are a child of God? A person lost does not have a spirit, he is spiritually dead. The Holy Spirit could not witness to someone unless he is alive to Christ.
No person lost seeks God. You are not saved by baptism, you are transformed by the Holy Spirit. And as I can see you are seeking already, and you would not be asking God for forgiveness if you were lost.
---Mark_V. on 12/26/07

#3. What you need to do is to make your salvation sure. Ask youself those questions. That is why it is so important for Christian's to have an assurance, a true faith in Jesus Christ. Others want you to depend on yourself, and not on Christ, but to doubt. "I say, Put all you faith in the Lord of Host and depend on Him alone, and you will be fine. Praise be to God in the highest."

Acts 2:38, John 3:1-21, Mark 16:16,.....the Word lays the foundation for salvation, it is up to you to take that step of faith, and being baptized by any other name than Jesus is pointless. If you read Matt 28:19, you need also read verse 18 to ut it into context.

Otherwise,you can forget it.
---Jack_8773 on 12/24/07

Here's the danger of listening to false gospels and the danger of all false gospels and doctrines = they bring confusion and confusion is not of God.

Sue, you could be suffering from depression.
Depression will leave you "feeling" flat with lack of affect. Everything will feel flat, not only your relationship with Jesus Christ. If all areas of your life feel flat, it could very well be an indicator of depression and you need to seek help from your clergy or a medical facility.

Sue, I think that it probably IS the devil playing with your mind. The devil does not need to do this to those who are already his. If you understand why Jesus died, you accept that you are a sinner, you have asked His forgiveness of your sins then I'd say that you are saved. Are some people telling you that God has predestined some to be saved and predestined others to hell? This subject has been covered here many times. Some earlier answers might help you.

Do you attend church or have fellowship with other Christians?
If not, may I suggest finding a good church where you can receive some good teaching and learn how to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.

---earl on 12/23/07

Hey, you're talking about GOD here.

It's not exactly easy to feel close to a Being who's Omnipotent.

All you have to do to be saved is to believe in Jesus, and do your best to follow His teachings.

As long as you've done this, you've done what you need to be saved.

So you can stop worrying about BEING saved, and start LIVING saved.
