I have an answer about how to stop procrastinating...I'll post it later.
---Todd1 on 5/28/08

Augie ... Yes I could compose in Word, and then cut and paste to the site, but that would take more time (and take away my signature and lead Cindy back into the suspicion that I am also many other (typo-free) posters !!
Seriously though it would also enable me to keep a copy of everything I sent in, even that which the Moderators elect not to publish
---alan_of_UK on 4/16/08

Alan of UK:

A good solution to your "typo" problems would be to use the Windows CUT and PASTE
functions. Good Bye "typos". If you don't know how to do these simple things, just holler. I'll be glad to walk you through using CUT and PASTE.

Since I'm not free of the "typo" problem, I believe that I should be available to help YOU (not YUO) overcome your "typos". "Iron Sharpens Iron". Proverbs 27:17
---Augie on 4/16/08

Yuo guys crack me up!
---amicusdei on 4/14/08

Augie ... Thanks!!
This shows there are different kinds of typos
There is those caused by errant fingers
And those caused by old eyes that read "Augie" as "Angie"
Thanks you for laughing!
---alan_of_UK on 4/14/08

Alan of UK:

You called me "Angie". My name is "Augie".

Typo or not, I forgive you. That is what the Bible says to do. Matthew 18:21-35.

Hopefully, you are not offended that I am laughing. It just seems funny that the "you" typo as "yuo" seemed to make someone else upset. Laughter is the best medicine.
---Augie on 4/14/08

Frances ... This is a polite reply!!
It's not me that types yuo instead of you ... it is my fingers!!
Mostly I spot it, and correct, but often I don't
At least you could say it is one of my signatures ... same as my beleive instead of believe, and it distinguishes me from from all those other people who Cindy insists I am.
---alan_of_UK on 4/12/08

Its much like an old saying about the USA.
"Which is worse here ignorance or apathy."
A. 'I don't know and I don't care.'

Procrastination is similar. We have to face reality and do what is needed, FORCE ourselves to do whatever needs to be done.
Sometimes depression will hold us back from doing what we should in a timely fashion. Sometimes we're just lazy or want to pass the buck.
---NVBarbara on 4/11/08

I was going to comment on this but I decided to put it off for awhile.
---amicusdei on 4/11/08

First thing don't get to worked up about it. There's always tomorrow.
---matthew on 4/11/08

Alan of UK, this is a polite request. Please stop writing Yuo instead of You. Thanks. LOL I ask this because I am apt to copy misspelt words and get confused. Also, I am sure you would prefer to know you are doing it, as you probably are not aware.

Inflation may kill everyone but the pill-makers!
---catherine on 4/9/08

Augie...You are the only one who can make the "mature" decision to get things done. Nobody else and no medicine can do that for you.
---Susie on 4/9/08

Catherine ... It is clear yuo have had no experience of this sort of thing.
---alan_of_UK on 4/9/08

Oh for goodness sakes no. Pills, pills, pills, forget it!>>>You, my friend, need some self discipline. As we all do. {Take a pill for everything}?
---catherine on 4/9/08

Angie ... # 1 People say they are depressed when they find things a bit boring and the weather is bad and the holiday has fallen through and they have not got the pay rise they needed.

Angie ... # 2 Clinical depression can bwe as bad as being in such a hole, that you know there is no way out, that no-one understands, that no-one has ever had anything as bad as this before, that you are useless and your family would be better off without you.
And en route to that may be the state where your mind is in a muddle, and you can't work out what to do next, and you fritter from one task to another, & you can't work out what to ear today.
---alan_of_UK on 4/9/08

Angie ... # 3 That sort of procrastination is a warning of imminent deep and dangerous depression.
If that procrastination is what you have, I implore you, do not be afraid of the doctors.
---alan_of_UK on 4/9/08

augie, do you believe god?brother everyone procrastinates, some more than others.maybe you are being a bit hard on yourself.
---tom2 on 4/8/08

If something is on my mind, nagging at me to get it done, it saps a lot of my energy. (Like I finally got to the accountant today, 7 days and counting.) How much wasted time did I spend thinking, "Gotta get that tax stuff together,"? Too much! My spring resolution, just do it! I've got better things to do than spin my wheels.

Interesting blog replies.

What is the difference between "normal depression" and "clinical depression"?
---Augie on 4/8/08

I too procrastinate. Some people procrastinate because they need the pressure of a dead line to get things done and help them focus. One thing that may help is try to break big projects down into small pieces, and set small goals for yourself.

Lord bless you,
---trey on 4/8/08

1) Procrastination is more common than you think and is a very serious problem in the Body of Christ. We need to look to receive the Lords Word & believe in all things by always keep John 10:27-28 in the forefront of our minds. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
---Shawn.M.T on 4/8/08

2) The Lord needs us to believe, in the power of His Word, enough to act on it without reservations. It is by faith that we ask (Matt.6:11 Give us this day our daily bread) and it is by faith that we endure each moment to do all that is asked of us by Him. So His Will can be done through us today, for tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Psalm 118:24 does not say rejoice and be glad tomorrow? We all need salvation this moment, because This is the day the LORD has made the next is not certain!

Pharisee ... you usually post such common sense. But on this blog you are too haty and too harsh.

I know (from my own hard experience) that as ted suggests, procrastination can be a sympton of deep clinical depression.
That makes this a wholly valid question here.

I would say, get people to pray with yuo, be with you and support you, and go to see a doctor. Don't put any of this off.
---a on 4/8/08

I appreciated everyone's replies.

I'm deathly afraid of doctors and drugs.

I think that I just need to make a decision to get things done. May GOD help me. Only I, myself, can make this decision.
---Augie on 4/8/08

I'm not sure what you should do. How about if I get back to you later? Maybe, next week.
---Susie on 4/8/08

You're kidding right?

Yeah this is an important blog topic, this is more important than the prayer request for a real church encountering real persecution.

I'm a little upset can you tell?

The quiz suggests that this might be depression and it could be.
In a fog, unable to move, blocked, the mind is willing but the body won't move - it could be depression. If you need anti-depression meds to cope, it is not a sin.
---Ted on 4/8/08

there are many things which can be put off until another day,but a like amount that can, suggestion would be to that being said, iam not familiar with you personally, and not aware of your personality.bottom line is YOU must choose whether or not to procrastinate.
---tom2 on 4/7/08

Augie . . . If you're not getting the juice to do what you should or suppose you should do > God is the One who gets us going, if we submit to Him (Philippians 2:13). But there are things, indeed, which He does NOT want us to do, which we may be sure we have to do (o: And so, He won't bless you to do what isn't His will with His timing, and this is why even ministers can get wasted and burned out and frustrated. With Jesus, "you will find rest for your souls." (in Matthew 11:29)
---Bill_bila5659 on 4/7/08

The only thing a Doctor will tell you to do as me, is get off your butt and get something done. Don't wait, don't think about it. The more you think about it, the more you're going to talk yourself right out of it. This is something that one doesn't need to overcome, all they need to do is stop making excuses.
