Statement Of Your Faith

I would love to read a brief statement of faith from the bloggers here to see what everyone believes. As briefly and concisely as possible (85) is a tall order on this one, but I'd love to hear beliefs on God and salvation especially. Let's not pick each other apart on this OK?

I believe that we were all sinners(Rom.3:23) but because of Gods love, and not of any particular works we did, He sent his Son to the world (Jhn.3:16) to save us from our sins, but only if we believe in Him but not just to believe but to obey His words because "faith without works is dead."(James2:20)
Now, as a Christian I have been taught that there are works I need to do, that my faith ALONE will not be sufficient. To my faith I need to add more virtue, knowledge, temperance, etc. (2Pet.1:5-9) To take up my own cross and follow him.(Luk9:23), and to obey all that He has commanded (Mat28:20)

This works I do I cannot boast because it is God who is working His works through me.(Col.1:29)

hi, i,ve been through to much not to believe in our lord and savior jesus christ, i will always have faith in our god.
---nettie on 10/19/08

I love my God (the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) with all my heart, mind, soul and spirit, and to love my neighbors and strangers.

Unfortunatly, the vast majority of Christians today "know" what love is, but do not know "how" to love. Comparing two personal experiences concerning several denominational churches, one thirty years ago and the other six years ago, I know for a fact that Christian love has left the world.

I believe that we can't have our own personal interpretation of Scripture because the Holy Ghost wrote the Scriptures and He must do the interpreting - II Pet. 1:21,21. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the Word made flesh. He is the only Head of the Church which is His body. I believe that salvation is by grace, through faith, absolutely apart from works - Eph. 2: 8-9. I believe when a person accepts Christ as his Saviour, he is born again of God and cannot ever be lost. I believe that after a person is born again he should be filled with the Spirit evidenced by the believer speaking in a language he does not know, as the Spirit gives utterance - Acts 2:4.

Kate, when you really love Jesus, then you will know because you will have bonded with him by loving him, and nothing can separate you from this love. The more you draw closer to him and give to him, the more he draws closer and gives to you. And the deeper you go in his love for him, then the more "righteous and Christlike" you will become, being changed from glory up to glory. And when you know that nothing else matters except Him and him alone, and that you will do anything at all for him, even as Abraham offered up his only son because he loved his God more than anything, then you will know that you are abiding in him, not so much from your efforts to please him but moreso from your deep desire to sincerely want to please him.

All right Jesus, "help me with this one, please". You can only be save through the Blood of Jesus Christ who WAS TORTURED by wicked men in power, and because of His beatings took only six hours to die on the cross. He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. And now lives in every born-again believer. He comes to you, He chooses you. I did not write the rules, God did before the creation of the world. The heart of man is desparately wicked, is why He came. I have experienced the Blood of Jesus, so I know exactly what I am talking about. I love each and every one of you. This is why I tell nothing but the truth.
---catherine on 7/24/08

Eloy - I'm ditto to your post. I tell my muslim friends that Jesus is God, that Jesus came to earth in flesh, and that Jesus said that there is NO other way to the Father except through Jesus. I tell that to my Jehovah's Witness friends, I tell that to my non-believing friends. That is the most important first step to understanding truth. Then of course comes the hard part: "Remain in My love and I will remain in you." Obey, obey, obey. Something that I'm terrible at, I admit. But I believe God perfects his creation and so hope is not lost for me yet.

pharisee, my faith is in jesus.after nearly 35 years of being saved,I like many have wandered thru life, but too his credit I have come too realize that spiritual truth, aka the only truth, resides only within God.and that we can have it,that it manifests itself as the peace that passes all understanding. though life may change, because of the flesh, and perception may be clouded, because of the flesh, thank God he never faith is in this fact.God never changes,God is love,God can not lie,God is all good, and one day I will be with him, in paradise.

Thanks to all who posted replies!

It requires courage to state your beliefs when you know the chance of persecution is there.

You are the Lord's lionhearted and have passed the test and had your name whispered in God's ear YET AGAIN: Matthew 10:32 "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven."

Keep that gospel on your lips!

Salvation is the Father's provision for His creations deliverance from the enslavement to and penalty of sin. Worked out by the finished work of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. Through the cleansing power of His blood and the healing endowment of His Spirit.

I became a christian aug, 1990 after two
demons entered my body to kill me. The lord
protected me till I got to church where
they were cast out. Jesus became my lord
and savior ever sense.
---michael on 4/30/08

I believe that:-
..God created the world and all that is in it as the bible says. man brought sin into the world for which we all need a Saviour.
..God sent His Son Jesus to be that Saviour
..all who believe this and live as He taught and repent of their sins will be saved when He returns for His own.

Jesus loves me this I know, for the bible tells me so..God in the flesh came to save my soul and die for my sins.He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life. HE is my example of how we should love one another. The Holy Spirit continues to guide me into all truth. The grace of God is what keeps me 'afloat'.We are not saved by works, but works will follow the believer, feed, clothe and love one another, especially the unlovable.

My statement of faith coincides and agrees with---tommy's3007.
---Mima on 4/29/08

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ who is also God. He always was and will be and created all things. His Holy Spirit (who is also God) is alive and indwells believers. God is in control of everything that is. He will come again and take believers to heaven and put unbelievers in Hell.:)
---jody on 4/29/08

I believe in the One True God of Israel, and Jesus His Son-He is the Messiah, and the author and finisher of my faith. I believe Jesus came to shed his blood for my sins, die and then rise from the dead so that the enemy has no power over me and I am forgiven for my sins. I believe in the Holy Spirit who is a part of the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. I believe God wants intimacy with man and is brining to Himself a remmant of people who worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

Statement of Faith- In one word, Jesus: In two words, Jesus Saves: In three words, Jesus is God: In eight words, Worship and obey Jesus saves the sinuous life.

I adhere to all Seven Ecumenical Councils teachings and practices. I accept and believe the Apostles Creed, the Original [not the added words "and the Son" done by Rome hundreds of years later, forbidden by the Council] Nicene-Constantinople Creed and any other Creed done by the Orthodox Church.

I believe in the Holy Scriptures, the consensus teachings of the Church Fathers, The Trinity, The Incarnation of the Son, Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and the Traditions of the Church

Hello catherine, your faith sounds somewhat like mine. The GOD I worship has had to drag me to Christ John 6:44 & 65,Phili.2:13.My Father has given me & lots of others to HIS SON,John 17:6,HE prayed for us only, John17:9 and he died for us only Eph.5:25. HIS Great plan is the reason for everything!Isa.46:10
My GOD does whatever HE wants to! Isa. 45:10,Prov.16:4,Eph.1:4,5
This is the GOD of the Old & New Testaments
and the GOD that is coming quickly to Judge the Earth Rev.1:8 Repent!

I love Jesus and he loves me! "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1:27

Trinity. Immersion water baptism (but not necessary for salvation). Speaking in tongues (proof of receiving the Holy Spirit)for today. You can walk away from God (losing your salvation), but God will never walk away from you. The ONLY WAY for salvation is through Jesus Christ. There is only one unforgivable sin and it isn't divorce and remarried. What a person did before they were saved is forgiven upon repentance. A person who prophecies ONE false prophecy is a false prophet.
---KarenD on 4/28/08

God comes to the person. It is He who initiates the whole process. I know that God has drawn me into as close as a relationship as there is possible. I believe that the more the believer needs God the closer that relationship can develop. God, you cannot understand Him. He doesn't give you many clues on your future. Only bits and peaces. He is a God who will tell you to wait. And see. God is a teacher. Always has His eyes on you and He discplines, ouch that hurts. He can be a bit of a dictator.
---catherine on 4/28/08

pharisee, there is only one truth, and it is God,jesus, and the holy spirit.God has sent his son to redeem a repentant sinner, who will beleive in jesus.who he was why he came and what he died for mand that he rose and ascended back to heaven.that we are to be followers of jesus and deliver the message as per the great commission.and live our lives through his stength, by being obidient to him.
---tom2 on 4/28/08

My statement of faith is simple, the God we read of in the Bible is the ONLY true and living God, Jesus Christ is the Son of God eternal in spirit and incarnate in flesh, born of a virgin, lived a perfect sinless life, died on the cros a substitute for our sins, buried dead, raised again 3 days later and ascended to the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for us.
