Are People Healed In Hospitals
I attended a meeting by Jehovah Witnesses. We were asked " why do the miracles of prayer by other Christian groups only happen in Churches and rarely in Hospitals?" My question. Is there something that happens in church that does not happen in hospitals when pastors pray?
Moderator - You can either live or die during/after an operation. Millions of people live after their operation, therefore one could conclude that people are healed daily at the hospitals. God can heal people through medicine, doctors, etc.

I've worked in hospitals for over 25 years. The basic supposition of this questian... that miracles of prayer happen only in church...is incorrect. Miracles in response to prayer happen both places! God is not limited by the environment.
The difference is that if a person is prayed for in church, God gets credit for the healing. If unusual healing occurs in the hospital, medical treatment is credited... whether or not the patient is prayed for.

Yes ! I had surgery on April 15, 2008! My doctor is a Christian woman! I love her! My life was in her hands and the Lords! She was so good to me! Praise Jesus for sending me this wonderful woman doctor!
I am alive. It is a miracle! Thanks to Jesus my Lord and God. Pray for me cause now I await Chemo and radiation starting June 2, 2008!

I believe that some people believe that healings only happen in church. They may not mean to believe this way on some level. But alot of people feel God's presence the strongest when at church. I don't know why but at times it seems people has more faith in a church building than anywhere else. My thinking is, if a person can't believe God for healings outside the church, then they can't believe God heals while in a church building. God is everywhere and he can heal anyone, at any given time.

Concerning hospitals, our most recent report from the street evangelist in Mexico that we sponsored tells of people coming up to him and taking him to a hospital to see some of their family. He reports many many salvation's are brought about in this manner. He also reports Healings, but I do not know enough at this time to comment.

I think more hospital healings would happen if the Word of God is brought in there. Once my grandsons read out of the bible to my aunt and later the nurses said she made a remarkable recovery shortly after.
My father-in-law was in the 'death room" expected to die within hours. The family and minister were there and prayed for recovery and many more years added to his life and that is exactly what happened.

The JW's are very wrong when they say that miracles of prayer don't happen in hospitals. I've seen the greatest miracles there. These include a couple of terminally ill patients with the family at the bedside awaiting the death of the loved ones. It won't happen to the JW's because they won't pray or believe.

Mr. Cooper, you've been on my mind. I hope all is well.

First of all let me say: JW's are considered a cult. They have twisted the word of God and have passed on a lot of wrong teachings and untruths. I would stay away from this group. You might hear anything from these people. They are the antichrist and does not heed correct teachings. Some of what they say sounds good and many unlearned and ignorant people have been deceived by them.Run from that group!

View2:People are healed in hospitals everyday. God has given these medical people the special learning and talents they have acquired. But Jesus is the greatest Healer and Doctor.Doctor Jesus. There is no difference in hospital and churches. God heals wherever He chooses. The doctors and nursed don't heal anyone. They practice the art of healing and medicine. God does the healing in church, hospitals, at home.. wherever! Know the truth and the truth will set you free..St John 8:32.

Hi Bill, love that, you just reminded me of what happened when I was about 11 or 12. My grandpa was dying and I remember seeing my mom say to relatives "I wish for just one day he could feel better"! Next day my grandpa is sitting up and laughing, eating a few cookies. For that one day--and I was a kid who KNEW GOD HEARD! :)

"For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe." (1 Timothy 4:10) So, God is Savior to "all men" > so, He may heal ones who do not believe in Him, but maybe only in ways which come with merely trusting secular means. But a pastor of the Holy Spirit can minister more and better, deeper.

Yes, God can work through secular hospital methods. But we can have more by seeking Him for Himself > "'But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.'" (Matthew 6:33) So, if I have a medical problem, I start by submitting for the LORD to do with me exactly and meticulously as He pleases, *including* how the Holy Spirit of resurrection can effect my body, *now*, howsoever You please (o:

"God is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all we could ask or think."
Ever wonder how many times God has healed us, or directed our paths to steer us from problems we'll never know existed? HE's watching over us even when we're not thinking about it, praise HIS name!

I attended a meeting by Jehovah Witnesses.
Big mistake! "The Watchtower" predicted the end of the world in the seventies- FALSE PROPHET -SEE Deuteronomy 18:17-22
Worse they say Jesus is an angel -SEE Hebrews chapter 1, and John 5:22-23.
Jesus is not a mere man or an angel he is Lord (kurios-GR) as Paul said on the Damascus road to Jesus Christ.
Jesus is nothing but a demon if he is not God because he received worship and stopped none of it.

100+% right on Moderator! God isn't limited by physical locations nor medicinal or human instruments He uses to "daily" heal humanity.
Mary: The effectual (fervent, sincere, earnest, faithful) prayer[s] of the righteous can do (availeth) much to touch the heart of God & move Him to action on ones behalf. (Jas. 5:16-20)
P.S. Why did you attend the meeting? Are you JW?

Two kinds of open heart surgeries. One is performed by the Holy Spirit while sitting in church being prayed for, or praying for yourself.
The other kind of open heart surgery is performed by surgeons that are led of the Holy Spirit to save lives.
All successful surgery is led of the Great Physician. Without God, surgery would not ever be successful. Man is not all knowing.
---lisa on 5/5/08|
People die during/after surgeries due to man's error or illness/disease has destroyed the body too much.
God is still in control for those who trust in Him. He knows our beginning from the end and He knows when it's our time to go home.

When prayer happens in churches, there are MANY people praying. When Pastors go to hospitals to pray, they need to do what James Chapter 5 says to do. Call for the elders of the church (Which is the Pastor)and anoint the one who is sick with oil, and the prayer offered up in faith will heal the one who is sick. But I believe if it's not God's will for them to be healed, then they will not be. God may want them home in heaven with Him - what's so bad with living with God?
