All you have to do is watch CNN for about an hour and you will know without a doubt we are probably (my feeling) getting ready to start the Tribulation period. The 7th seal is about to be opened. But again--just my feelings--only God knows for sure.

we've been "living in the last days" since 1948 when Israel became a nation. "the fig tree budding"
- 1998 the Jews left Russia when the Berlin wall fell. that's mentioned in scripture too.
- the oslo accords and the whole issue of Israel being divided is "the bowl of trembling by which the nations get cut trying to lift it."
- the hurricane that ripped into Louisiana being freakishly during the same time that Jews were forced out of the Gaza Strip is by some considered a judgement of God.
- yes we're in the last days before the 7 year tribulation.

Jesus is the "BREAD" of life, but to receive ETERNAL LIFE (everyone already has salvation), we must "HEAR" God's word to each of us in our own lives (PERSONAL).

Amos 8:11 says..."Behold the days are coming, says the Lord God, that I will send a famine on the land, NOT A FAMINE OF BREAD, not a thirst for [H2O] water, but of HEARING the words of the Lord. They shall run to and fro...".

We do not READ God's word (we can only HEAR it).

The bible is the word of TRUTH (2 Timothy 2:15, Ephesians 1:13, John 14:6).

Walk by the spirit, not by faith (Galatians 5:16 and 25) and have a "faith for faith" (Romans 1:17).
---more_excellent_way on 12/7/08

The INTRODUCTORY doctrine of Jesus (Hebrews 6:1) is "profitable"/good for TRAINING in self discipline/repentance, etc., but after that, we must mature in having a two way relationship with God and "HEAR His voice" (John 10:27) and have the REAL word of God (Ephesians 6:17) in our lives.

But many will not want to believe that the bible is not God's word ("not endure sound doctrine").

The bible IS NOT the "word of God" (sorry world, you can't just READ God, you have to LIVE Him). The bible is not a "roadmap to heaven" as many wish it was, nor is it "an authority".

Matthew 28:18 "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me".

Trav~ thank you for the info! Also thanks for the honesty when on that one part you said you knew nothing concerning what I asked about. True honesty is so refreshing on this many seem to act like they know everything....haha. :)
---Anne on 11/24/08

Anne: told you wrong these were posted in the "False Doctrines" blog. Copied partially below. These two may explain details. Still digging on subject.

this generation" is the generation that the prophesies in Matthew 24 was talking about - our generation today. May 14, 1948 is when the fig tree started sprouting. This date is the beginning of sorrows. Compare the world in 1948 to the present world and you'll discover that the world has change more during the past sixty years than all the history before that time. And may I add, to the worst.
---Steveng on 11/21/08

Amen steveng!
That Generation(48')is old and has almost passed!
WE know it's SOON!

Does anyone believe this is a prophecy referring to our modern day? It seems very few are teaching the full truths of the Bible, yet some people would really like to find other people who do love to read and obey God's word 100%.
---Anne on 11/22/08
Anne, what do I know about this. Nothing.
But,there is much linked, to the Fig Tree. If the fig tree represents Jerusalem, Judah, other prophecy's are fulfilled.
1948 to the exact day fits Haggai's prophecy's of Gentile control of this area.

Then the fig tree Judah, Jerusalem, "this generation" ,ours as well is 60 years old.

Since he is coming like a thief in the night...

Two others posted in the Fig Tree blog, that are aware of this.

You know what really does it for me?

"Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold."

If that's not a picture of the world today, even the Christian world, I dont know what is.
---Todd1 on 7/9/08

Thank you, Steveng. I am unable to receive your messages. I studied Greek at college. Jesus referred to the people he was with and he talked about (earlier) signs that we are seeing today. Two different sets of people.
---frances008 on 7/9/08

In deed we are in the endtimes. So let us anticipate each day for His coming. And use the anticipation as motivation to go and reach as many as we can before He comes.

Remember years ago when Jerusalem was targeted and being bombed with scud missles? When this happened, every church across the land was full because people thought it was the end of the world. But when the bombing stopped, the churches emptied just as fast as when they were filled. I believe this was a wake up call by God in epic proportions. Are people so fickle that they only turn to God when they need him or when they fear their own demise? It is good to turn to God when afraid, but please o brother, and o sister, please serve him daily as he longs to bless your life more than you could ever dream of. He loves you dearly, please give him all the glory due his name. Thank him always and at all times, and serve the Lord Jesus with gladness.

Amen Danelle,
As far as "that/this/what Gen."

Lets not put the cart before the horse,
If you KEEP the 29th verse to the 34th verse of Matt. 24 in context, you'll see that "That Gen." isn't around until the end times, Their NOT the ones in 70 ad. that Gen is in the 1st to 7th verse of that chap. when the Lord said but this ISN'T the end YET.

You should try reading it ALL at ONCE, it's ALOT clearer and it takes about 5 mins.
Then add it to your knowledge of the book of Daniel and Ezekiel & Revelation.

Keep up w/the Good work.

Terror, deception, confusion, evil, hate, and the lack of common sense has gripped the entire world. Even Christians are bombarded by evil every day by TV, radio, news reports, internet, ipods, magazines, newspapers, music, books, etc. Bad news everywhere which permeates the mind, heart and soul of every human. People losing self control of their lives. Read: 2Timothy3:1-5, 2Timothy4:3-4, 1Timothy4:1-3, Romans1:27, 2Peter3:3-4

But don't fear. All these things must happen before Jesus returns. Keep meditating on the Word of God and pray that He will keep you from this worldly mess so that you may endure unto the end.
---Steveng on 7/8/08

Only God The Father knows the time ...we are finite working with time ...God The Father and Christ have always existed ...Christ told Christians to not worry about wars, weather, and political events as these things must come to pass thing is definate God has stepped away from the US and our blessings as a nation have been removed ...we are delining both morally and spiritually more rapidly then ever as the perverted gay marriages and other liberals destroy the family unit ..when the punishment happens to the US it will be swift ...the one world government headed by a United Europe and the religious power of universal will wipe out most of the US with nuclear then step in to take the remains captive ...

frances008: "This generation, refers to those who were alive with Jesus in 30 Ad etc. They lived on to witness Jesus rising from the dead, the veil of the Temple being torn open, and later on (70AD) the destruction of Jerusalem. We are another generation, living in the End Times."

The word "this" is a pronoun refering to the generation that He was talking about and NOT refering to the time He was on earth.

We Have Been Living in the last days since Jesus went away in the air and He is Coming Again Soon not know the day or Hour but thing are more & more crazy & people not likeing Christan and Beliver and liking the ways that aren't right before the Lord

Nicole, I first got on to my path in life by reading Thomas Merton. I know he has had a job done on him nowadays, like all good people. But the original Thomas Merton knew what to look out for and warned people of signs to look for. If we do not pay attention to them (and Jesus warned us what they were so he obviously saw a need to tell us) then we will not be ready if and when it comes, and nor will our children. They will be so busy with their good works, that when the trucks start loading up with prisoners again, this time Christians too, you won't notice until most of them have disappeared and there will be nobody left either to oppose the Satanists, or nobody at all left who believes in God. The time to work for God is today.
---frances008 on 7/8/08

It is more obvious each day that the second coming of our Lord is "even at the door". Prophecy is dual. Since Adam failed in the Garden and Cain killed Abel, his very own brother, look around you! There have been wars in the OT,we are still at war and more are flaring up somewhere almost every day in some part of the world. But until the twentieth century,we had no weapons of MASS DESTRUCTION. Christ referred to this when he said that unless He cut short these last days,"there would no flesh be saved alive, but for the elects sake, those days shall be shortened."

Yes, I do believe in the last days. We are only here for a period of time, temporarily. The word of God never lies.
---antoa7855 on 7/8/08

We're about 2000 years away from what Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24. Verse 34 says: "Verily I say unto you, THIS generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."

A popular thing to do is redefine the word "generation" and attempt use complicated mathematical computations based on what's happening in Israel today to figure the timing for the end of the world (an endeavor which has so far proven unsuccessful).
---Bobby3 on 7/7/08

Have you noticed that every generation thinks they are the last generation?

They were all wrong. So, why would we think we are right and in the last days?

I think it is easier if we just know that we are in our own personal last days and repent.

For sure, the world will end for us within the next 70 years.

yes were headed that way for sure
however when Jesus said he was coming soon dont forget the scripture says "1000 years is as a day in the Lords sight" the important thing is to be ready and follow in obedience .
---steve5637 on 7/3/08

YES! We've been living in the last days ever since Jesus ascended back into Heaven.

There have been earthquakes, famines, and wars throughout history. Agreed, the junk in movies and TV just seem to get worse by the day. I don't think there's any way of knowing when the end times will come, but as Bill noted, it would be best to live our lives as if they were coming tomorrow. Glory to God!

v6m7 present additional signs whih will occur in the political world, in the natural world in the economic world (James 5:1-8), in the moral world (2 Tim 3:1-5), in the world of knowledge (Dan 12:4) and finally in the religous world (2 Pet,3:3,4)
The day of Jesus' return is at hand! It is
time to wake up and to wake others up too!

According to St. Peter's seomon at Pentecost 2000 (or thereabouts), we've been in the Last Days since then.

"many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." (in Daniel 12:4, as Joseph just said) And Jesus said, "men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth" (in Luke 21:26) > I see a connection > how media spread can give increased awareness of what is becoming of this earth, so people's hearts can fail them. But, "'All these are the beginning of sorrows.'" (Matthew 24:8) Be ready for more, I'd say.

Even if the whole world is evangelized, there is no hope of voting them out of office. Most people approve of cutting down the world's population, because they have been brainwashed into believing there is not enough food etc for all of us. It is a deception. Like pushing all people into one country, (UK) and then giving the British people the idea that the world is too populated, when it is not that, but that the land of these immigrants is uninhabitable due wars, genocides etc.

Like Jesus said, It will be More tollerable for Sodom & Gomorrah on the Day of Judgment, THEN it will be for ANY Nation that Follows after their Ways!
Take a look around, Is there an Abraham that will bargin with God for the Salvation of so Many?
Don't think that we will have the Same choice as they did,
we have 1 or 2 that Believe, So we'll be OK, That ain't Happening!
IF you don't vote these type of people OUT of Office YOU are Part of The Problem!
---Duane_Dudley_Martin on 5/30/08

Over the last 100 years knowledge has increased expeditiously. Dan. 12:4 Israel has been reestablished as a nation. Mat. 24:32 There is most certainly "distress of nations, with perplexity, men's heart failing them for fear, looking after those things which are coming upon the earth." Luke 21:25,26 The Word of God is being preached unto all nations of the earth via satellite, not possible until recently. Mat. 24:14 These and many other signs testify to the fact that the end of this age is near.

This country is as close to Sodom and Gomorrah as it can get. If God destroyed those cities, what do you think is going to happen to this world? Fifty years ago, if someone had mentioned the kinds of marriages that are going to be occurring in California, they would have been laughed at.

We have been living in the end times since Pentecost. We just do not know if Christ return will be in the next minute or 10.0**99 Billion Light Years form now. The whole point of the scriptural reference is to live in such a manor as to be ready when ever it does occurred.
---notlaw99 on 5/29/08

All through history, haven't we had people saying now is the end, this is the year? And ones can pick and choose items that support their claim . . . like how *we* humans can pick and choose scripture to support us, or invent our own interpretations to make them fit. We tend to go with fads, too . . . like the y2k hoax which various reputed ministers upheld. So . . . I submit to God, as well as I can, for what He has me thinking, where *He* guides my attention.
