I'll be seeing a surgeon tomorrow (Wed). My Dr. says I need surgery ASAP.
I suppose the surgeon will set me up for my surgery as soon as he can.

I don't look forward to surgery, but I DO look forward to feeling better!

Thanks to all of you for your prayers!
God bless all of you guys!
---NVBarbara on 8/12/08

Thank you Darlene, that means a lot to me!
God bless you my sister, loveya too...

Barbara, we are praying for you and will in Church this Sunday.
You know when that Maine Coon Cat worries about you we do too.
As Johnny Cash said, "Keep a close watch on that heart of yours."
You'll be OK cause I ain't done aggravating ya yet.
If a student spells ignorant wrong what does that make him? (Addicted to my coffee.)

NV Barbara Yes I am praying for you and NV Steve. I'm glad to hear the valve problem is coming under control. You are such a ray of sunshine and blessing on here we miss you when you don't feel like being on or gone, and I am concerned for you. Thanks for the kind words for all of us. God be with you Little Sister in Christ. Loveya

How many Christians does it take to change a lightbulb?
Charismatics: Only one. Hands already in the air.
Pentecostals: Ten. One to change the bulb, and nine to pray against the spirit of darkness.
Presbyterians: None. Lights will go on and off at predestined times.
Roman Catholic: None. Candles only.
Baptists: At least 15. One to change the light bulb, and three committees to approve the change and decide who brings the potato salad.
Episcopalians: Three. One to call the electrician, one to mix the drinks and one to talk about how much better the old one was.

Thank you Darlene. We are doing pretty well controlling my Mitral Valve Prolapse without surgery.

But the problem lies in my abdomen. I had an indepth Ultrasound yesterday and I'll see my Dr. on the 6th for him to tell me what they found. (I asked for 8x10 glossies of my US but they refused me :-)

I don't look forward to surgery, but I must look forward to feeling better! I've had a pretty rough time physically the past few months and I'm just worn down.
Thank you for your prayers! God bless you and yours.

God is just blessing my socks off this summer. I had the opportunity to teach crocheting to some adolescent girls in the psychiatric hospital today and last week. It is so nice to pass on a skill I learned when I was their age. Some of these young ladies have serious family issues. We need to pray for the young people in our country. Many of these young girls will not be able to return home and must go to group homes and foster care.

Any 'cattiness' is in the past, gone, forgiven, forgotton Francis.

Great guess Francis,
I married young, my husband and I finished school during the early years. My son was born 6 years after we married.

After that I was a stay at home Mom. When he started school, I taught school so we were always home at the same time. Then I was a sub for a few years once sports activities started for him. I was VERY fortunate that I was able to stay home and raise my child and not farm him out to baby sitters! Praise God!

I had 2 stillbirths after Bob was born, so it made it even more important to me to raise my only child properly.
God has blessed us both tremendously!

---NV_Barbara on 7/29/08

Barbara, thank you so much for your apology, of course you are forgiven. I hope I was not too catty, and that you forgive me to, as I am not good at turning the other cheek. No, I don't have any grandchildren, and it is possible that I won't have any due to circumstances beyond my control. But I think we should remember that nothing is impossible with God. Congratulations on a good job done on your son. I bet you were a stay at home mother.
---frances008 on 7/28/08

NV Barbara, I looked up what your heart condition is,since I wasn't sure, and was glad to see there is surgery for it. May God direct you, keep you, bless you and bring you through anything which comes your way with flying colors. We never want surgery but God is more than able to bring you through and make you well. I was surprised in finding the info on your problem I found there may be hope for me. I have what Doctor called a Floppy Flap in my foot so the blood doesn't go back to the heart the way it is meant to. The Flap is actually a weak or Floppy Valve. It causes my foot and leg to swell huge sometimes and its very uncomfortable plus can't wear regular shoe when its bad.God Bless Praying for You.

"Lord, Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will." Barack Obama

Despicable that a student stole the prayer that Obama put in the Wailing Wall and it was published!

Hi Everyone,
I just returned from a luxurious weekend where I went to the beach a few times. It was wonderful. I am so relaxed, I don't want to go back to work on Monday.

Prayer request: My daughter-in-law's grandmother broker a verterbae in her neck and is hospitalized in a halo contraption. Her name is Doris. She is a believer.

---Trish9863 on 7/27/08

I'm a bit predjudiced Francis, but YES my son is a doll! He ia a very bright and thoughtful young man, I'm very proud of him, just for being himself, but also for his love of God and his earthly achievements, by the grace of God.

Today is his birthday, I hate being nearly 5000 miles away and can't celebrate with him! I visited him in Feb. and had a wonderful time, he can always make me laugh. We both have the same dry warped sense of humor.
Do you have G'children dear?

(BTW thank you for your thoughtfulness, I'm happy that we can be more than civil to each other. Please forgive me for anything I have ever done to offend you on these blogs.)
---NVBarbara on 7/27/08

A revival just ended near where we live. Half the people there were under 18. We saw many young people saved and several filled with the Holy Ghost. Praise the Lord!
---SusieB on 7/26/08

Hi everyone. NVBarbara, sorry to hear that your future daughter in law cannot have children. Your son must be a really nice guy, if that is not too presumptuous. This is not much of a world to bring kids into at the moment. But children bring pleasure (and hard work and worry), however fleeting - they soon grow up. In the end there is only one thing that matters and it's not to put too much store by this short life.

We miss YOU John! I'm still scouting for a 'puter for you, my nephews in Charlotte promised to be on the look out.

Don't tempt me Trish! I would so be there to enjoy Isabel if I could!
(What's that smell?? Oh its the smell of a spoiled grandbaby!)

It looks as if I may have to have some surgery in the very near future, I hate it when that happens! I've got more tests on the 30th before my doc makes that decision.
I suppose I've been burning the candle too close on both ends. God is giving me some down time, so pain or not I'll be grateful.

God bless all. - Hey, where's Alan?

Darlene and Ralph I'm so happy that your girls both are doing well, praise God for His goodness!

Hi Susie how are you doing gal? Sorry I've been such a poor e-mail writer lately! I've been under the weather for a while. Last week my computer got sick!
I'm having to use Steve's 'puter, I can't even get to my addresses and other files.
Oh well things have a way of working out, God provides.

Timothy you're such a nice addition to our 'family'!
We all need a place to let down our hair and joke around, and share our needs and praises with each other.
To me this is a VERY serious blog, I need the comaroderie(sp?) I feel here!

God bless all of you!

Barb: You will have to come to Michigan with me and visit Isabel with me and enjoy that angel for a while. She is worth the trip, and such a riot to be with. I hope to see her again in a couple of weeks.

Sorry to hear about your future daughter-in-law's inability to have children. That really is a challenge.

Trish, you're so fortunate to have Colleen and that precious G'child! Her pictures you sent were so darling.

I'm praying REAL hard not to be jealous!
My son has always been leary of bringing more children into the world. As it works out his fience' can't have children. Its a slim possibility that they could adopt. No G'children for me I suppose, I'll borrow some on occasion!

Did you guys know that Emcee is celebrating the birth of his 23rd GREAT grandchild?! He has 13 children!
---NVBarbara on 7/24/08

Hey SusieB, I certainly understand as I try my best to be mature on some of the other blogs that I write as well...however I don't always succeed. I have only been blogging for a few months and sometimes it is hard to distinguish the Christian websites from the secular ones. This blog helped to restore my faith in my fellow believers.

Praise the Lord. My Greatgranddaughter came through the surgery just fine,it didn't go as deep as suspected. She was all smiles as she rode the wagon to the car and asked for an apple, which I quickly bought her of course. Ralph I don't know, different places treat differently, plus it will be an open wound. Trish, bless you,I know how that feels when we get away from those sweet ones. 25 years ago I came home from Idaho missing my year old Grandson and daughter,I had told her it wasn't fair for them to be all the way up there,"his" parents had a lot of kids,6 more, and I only had her that would have my grandchildren. A week later she called and said"come get me I'm coming back to Texas",husband came 2 months later.

That must be some heavy duty plantars wart. My daughter just had three removed from one foot last week and she was up and running around in a day or so. In fact, she participated in cheer camp this week and was picked to participate in the Thanksgiving Day parade in November.

Timothy...Some of us are not quite as mature as we seem. We just play nice on this one blog. We try to keep this one basic without controversy.

I am absolutely miserable this week. My munchkin granddaughter had to return to Michigan and I am going through baby withdrawal. It is worse than giving up chocolate or booze. Her smile and giggle and babble/talk just made my day. I hope to go to Michigan in a few weeks to get a fix. She is the sweetest thing on earth as far as this grandma is concerned. Why don't I remember my own kids being as cute, though I am sure they were? Was I too young or stupid to appreciate it then?
---Trish9863 on 7/23/08

My Greatgranddaughter, age six,is having surgery in the morning-Thursday,she reports at 7 AM Central Daylight Savings time. They will be removing a Plantars Wart from her instep of the foot. He said children can get them from splinters of wood, that is what happened to her, they had to cut the splinter out and then the wart developed She will be on crutches and wear a heavy surgery boot for three weeks. Please pray she heals well and has little pain. It will be an open wound until it fills in from the inside out. Thanks God Bless

The supervisor of my work section recently made a casual comment about my shaggy mane of hair.

He then went on to extol the virtues of a good haircut, which, he insisted, makes an elderly man look younger and a younger man seem more mature.

"How would a haircut make a middle-aged guy like me appear?" I asked, trying to stump him.

"Still employed," was his answer.

Listen up guys!

Thank you To all who prayed for family of cousin, her husband was only 29 years old. I was mistaken he was in Afganistan when he ran over a bomb with his Humvee,he was there to clear the road of bombs, part of the bomb squad. The widow had to sign a paper if they find any more body parts, they could bury them over there with a service. That was horrible for her! Please keep praying, this week she must attend a Military memorial service on Post, another at the Airport when the body comes in,visitation Wednesday night, and funeral Thursday 1 pm CDTime. Duane D. I am so sorry to hear about your wife's dad. A very sad time for your family. Our prayers are for you, your family and all others going through this hard times.
Pharisee, yours and Duane's responses were great to the kind of Sovereign God we know. Here is how awesome He is. "O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up, You understand my thoughts afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before. And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, it is high, I cannot attain it. etc. " Inspiring Psa. 139

Why is it so much harder to receive a physical healing then a spiritual healing? It's not at all, in fact from what I've seen it's the other way around. The old man that lives in the flesh resists spiritual healing, even among believers.

Our relationship to God is one of grace so we expect it, but it's not the most important thing.

If you made something and you knew you'd be setting it on fire in a week and part of it would go on through that fire which part would you pay most attention to?
My conclusion is and ALWAYS will be that God as an act of Grace will perform healing where it siuts his purpose.

I'm not big on Mumbo jumbo magic formulas that are supposed to elicit a response from God, he is Sovriegn.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A volcano erupted Saturday with little warning on a remote island in Alaska, sending residents of a nearby ranch fleeing from falling ash and volcanic rock.

The Okmok Caldera erupted late Saturday morning, just hours after seismologists at the Alaska Volcano Center began detecting a series of small tremors.

The explosion flung an ash cloud at least 50,000 feet high, said geophysicist Steve McNutt.

After a couple of minutes, I was doing another blog on here and talking to Jesus about this at the same time, and when I finished God said, "the answer to your question is, you have got to be willing". End of quote: What I want to know is why anyone in their rights minds wants to go to hell? Oh I know you love sin too much. But still anyone in their right minds do not want to go to hell. Right! Pharisee, I would love to send you this DVD Teaching that a Born Again Rabbi did. It was about healing and it was sooo powerful. He said, "If He healed your Spirit, He healed your Body." He made perfect sense in the way he explained physical healing. You can order it through Sid Roth Ministries, his name is Rabbi Curt Landry. Powerful man. God has anointed this man "for such a time as this" for the benefit of Jerusalem and to unite both Jew and Gentile as One New Man. Why is it so much harder to receive a physical healing then a spiritual healing?

Surely Donna, healed is at least spiritual for every Christian, the flesh is an abomination, the fire is already lit for it. It's imperfections and weaknesses are a flawed variation of a perfect creative design. You're either purged or consumed in the end, and either way that design stands resurrected for all eternity.

My point however, is that the focus of God's healing in this life is spiritual unto faith. He has no problem healing and does, but the flesh is sorted after the fields are littered and the more lamps he has lit the more people will see HIM and be saved.

If you're good and hard headed like me he can allow some shaking in your foundation that'll cause you to change. The live vine is pruned, the dead for the flames

Hi Donna, a former pastor (and I agree with him on this too) said that the "by His stripes" phrase is talking about redemption and forgiveness, not so much physical healing. Oh, and Darlene, I am soooo sorry about the young man in Iraq!! :( It is unbearable how many families are going through it. :( May God bring healing to the family as only He can do.
---Mary on 7/10/08

With some folks here needing physical healing with their body/heart, etc., I'm STILL trying to understand "by His Stripes we ARE healed." Is it a sin to keep asking Father God how this happens?
Also, for emotional healing for Darlene and her family realtive - I am praying that the Lord reach deep down inside the wife's being and his children's being and heal the wound that goes so deep at such tragic news. I am so very sorry to hear this.
Pharisee-teach us more about physical healing and what the scripture means "By HIS stripes we ARE healed." Thank you.

Trish, thank you for your prayers, they told the little ones and the boy is too young to really grasp the impact of it,but the little girl just screamed, she was very close to her Dad. I will pray for your request. Pharisee, you're welcome,do take care of yourself,we do care, and I'm so glad you think you know the cause now. Man cannot live on oatmeal alone, he should have a loggers breakfast sometimes,a half dozen eggs,a lb. of bacon or ham is good, plenty of biscuits and gravy with a stack of pancakes and syrup on the side. I am joking some but in Idaho they serve breakfast on platters instead of plates due to loggers working so hard. So are you,but I think eating a breakfast like that would hinder bending over.

Last year there was a post asking where all the "good Christian men" are. I responded that I knew a wonderful Christian man who was a widower with three kids. One woman asked me more about him. They are getting married this month after a long courtship of phone, email, IM, and several trips as they lived 1000 miles apart. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

But, thank God, the trial was cancelled, probably because of a plea bargain. July's gotta be better.
