well, first and foremost you must know who and what you are as a human being.that your nature is sinfull, and that you are in need of salvation.then you must accept jesus christ, and why he came ,and what he did for you.then accept the message of being born again of the spirit, and that by only following Gods word ,which is spiritual truth, and crucifying the flesh daily can God change you.

Kenny you will certainly not get any argument from me concerning your statement. In addition let us not forget His coming as an example to us of life in Christ and His atoning sacrifice for our redemption:o).

God himself is a supernatural being, who came himself in the flesh born by Mary as proof of his existance, only to return to heaven within a short time. While Jesus is the "living word", it's his Holy Spirit who reveals the written word.

Faith in the Name:Jesus Christ
Faith comes by Hearing....

The agreement:
Confession made to Our Father,we believe his Words{Son}to us.
Rom10:9-10..confess the Lord Jesus...
Phil 2:11

The Indwelling:
Christ IN-Us,We IN-Christ
1Cor3:16-Know ye not that ye are the Temple of God ,and the Spirit dwelleth in you?

The Resurrection Power changes:
2Cor5:17-[If]any man in Christ ,a New Creature:old things are passed away...
Rom8:11-{If}the same Spirit of him that RAISE UP JESUS FROM THE DEAD DWELL IN YOU...

Hearing comes from the Word...
the word in our dead bodies is resurrected by the Spirit...The Spirit works THRU US,we are transformed to the New Creature.

Restored-Glory to God.

Well, I can answer that from experience, I guess! For me it has very little to do in studying the Bible, but it is the living God that lives in me. He simply won't leave me alone, which I am most thankful for. I will is the living God who liveth in me. And He makes and causes the changes. We study, at least I do, because I enjoy it, I do not enjoy ignorance, and because I want to know when Satan... is LIEING to me.

Donna836 Thank you for at least taking the time to read my post.
I agree with this statement 100% "The word mixed with faith and the Power of the Holy Spirit, all working together," Is indeed the empowerment for change, all of which are indispensable.

I changed so much after I was saved born again that I can hardly remember the person I was.Born again IS NOT a figure of speech as I thought it was before I was truly saved.I played church (thought I was Christian) from age 20 to 47.When I really consecrated my life to God I was going to keep it private. The next day when I went to work ( the most immoral nurse I knew) who worked with me asked me what happened. She said did you get religion or something? Even she instantly saw the new me.

Josef said, "How does the word of God change us?" It does not.

If this is true Josef, then WHY does the word say, "He sent forth His WORD and Healed them." Jesus said, "My words are Spirit and Life." The Psalmist said, "Thy word have I hidden in my herat that I may NOT SIN against thee." So the word heals, the word is able to cause us not to sin. I'd say the word does change us. The word mixed with faith and the Power of the Holy Spirit, all working together. I think this scripture answers my question: Luke 8:15 - But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

The 10 commandments are rules for relationships. God came here as a humble man to teach us this (Mark 12:29-31). He made the ultimate blood sacrifice then rose from the dead to complete the law. He simply said that we must have faith in him, repent our sins and accept him as Lord of our lives. You cannot be saved through your own works, but through his grace only. Good works are fruit of his Lordship over us. He is about relationships not Law!!! To have a relationship with him you must put your faith in his word. He will take it from there if you just trust him over yourself. If someone says you have to do certain deeds to be saved, it is false. Once you accept Christ as Lord and repent, you are saved forever, let the word lead from there.

The word of God is designed to teach, and admonish us in his ways. It is spoken of as the washing of the water of the word. Meaning it cleanses as it comes in, and goes out, being a double edged sword, working both ways, it also purifies, as it burns out the impurities in our lives.

"How does the word of God change us?" It does not. The change occurs as we are empowered of the Father, first to submit to the inspiration received via the written word, and then to choose the vitality for life found only in the LIving Word. For it is He that orders (prepares and establishes) ones steps in His word and opens ones mind to His intend renewal.
"How is "Christ in me, the hope of Glory" come true for us?" Christ in us is the anointing of the Father's Spirit and Power that grants us the expectation of reflecting externally, His presence as clearly apparent internally. His glory will be recognized as we grow in Him and actualized when we are brought to completion by Him.

I would say that the truth hurts, why? because of our nature.when we are convicted,or might I say caught.lets be honest, the flesh doesn,t really want to know or live truth, but the spirit does, its a choice.yes knowing the word will bring conviction, and living it salvation, and a changed life.that what the word says.

donna, jesus spoke a parable about the sower dropping the seeds in good ground.he gave I believe 4 different types of soil.these are the way people accept the gospel message.many people fall into the category of those that let the trials of life pull the word from them.jesus said to crucify the flesh, this is paramount.yes daily living the gospel, knowing scripture so that when your flesh is weak you can overcome temptation.remember the word is jesus.and yes only with the word while we live in the flesh can we overcome.and yes only God can change people.and yes you cant do it without the word, but its your choice too obey.

donna, its a daily, hour by hour, minute by minute, second by second, choice.and eventually a lifetime of obidience.but remember dear even many old testament men of God still made mistakes.david, and his basheba, abraham and ishmel, jonah and his fish, just too name a few.we make mistakes and sin,we have evil thoughts and made bad decisions.but we are justified by and thru jesus, when we repent.

The "word of truth" (bible, Ephesians 1:13) does not cause us to behave differently (true, if you drop it on your toe, you will temporarily behave differently).

Also, the book does not live (it cannot be loved or love you back, you cannot have a personal relationship with it).

GOD does live, you can have a personal relationship with Him and let Him also have a personal relationship with you (if you include all of your idiosyncracies, habits, attitudes, etc.).
JESUS is God, the bible is NOT (Colossians 2:9).

"more excellent" devotion (1 Corinthians 12:31)
"walk by the spirit" (Galatians 5:16).
Verses are from the RSV.

Donna: After being saved, I am a brand new person. A better person. I have forgiven people that has done me wrong, and when I was a sinner I would hold grudges. Christ living in me has changed my life for the better. I am happy and I have peace. Having peace is such a wonderful thing. And when you need someone in the midnight hour, God is there. I can depend on my husband for many things but it isn't anything like God. I depend on God for everything. I am so thankful to be a child of God. Why people wait and make excuses I just don't understand them.

Read These Insightful Articles About Menopause

tom2, no cabesh. That means "I don't understand" in Italian. I was just wondering HOW the word changes us. I know it's alive and active and sharper than any two edge sword, able to pierce through both joints and marrow to the separating of the soul and spirit. Is it in memorizing the word and repeating it over our lives because we believe it that allows it to come to pass in our lives? Is that how it happens? Or is it just putting it inside of us and the Holy Spirit makes it come to pass in our lives and changes our carnal nature. Isn't this a complicated subject?

Donna, the fact that Christ is in you(you being saved) is the hope of glory(your expectations of the glories to be seen in heaven, and you are being there) has made the thought about the hope of glory true.
---Mima on 8/15/08

donna, truth convicts.but alas the human race is a fickled racemwho can at times live with convictions, without true repentence.we can justify ourselves sooooo easily.
