Leslie, if we draw close to God, we should not be sinning on a daily basis, so we would not need to keep repenting every 24 hours. Just when we sin.

To get closer to God, and have Him get closer to you, you MUST do some things. 1st, You MUST confess and repent (turn from) ALL sin in your life on a DAILY basis. God can NOT get close to sin and unholiness. 2nd, You MUST draw near to God in DAILY worship and DAILY reading the Bible. Hope this helps.

I just thought of something. Is there unconfessed sin in your life? Because God hears the prayers of a Repentent heart.
Lord, I repent for (talk about what you did to cause a separation between you and God).
That's the only reason I can think of why you feel God is miles away. You once had a close relationship and now want to be restored, right? What sin did you commit? Confess it, show remorse for it, and cry out to the Lord for Him to Forgive you. Then receive His forgiveness and start reading His word - start with the Gospel of John, then maybe Ephesians. Find out who you are in Christ Jesus. Study the New Testament.

"Please pray with me that God will take me back to him."
He never left you and certainly never forsook or disowned you.
Nothing can pluck you from His Hands, He loves you.

"God does speak and can restore me back close under his wings again right?" Of course.
"Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in His holy place? He that has clean hands, and a pure heart, Who has not lifted his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully." And "he that dwells in the secret place of the Most HIgh shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." The Father speaks continuously to those who abide in His Word, through the still small voice of our conscience. "The word is near you, it is in your mouth and in your heart," and where His word abides, so does He. "Though He be not far from any of us."

Hello and yes, He can. You don't have to go far to find God. If you truly and diligently seek the Kingdom of God, look in your heart. If you don't find Him there, then you need to go the Word of God and check yourself. Jesus said to love God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and with all your strength, also love your neighbors and enemies as you love yourself (you have to love yourself), and forgive everyone, including yourself and those who may have wronged you. When you can do this, you will find God inside you and He will guide you from within.

DO the Two Commandments Jesus spoke of. Unfortunately, Christians stop at only reading and studying the Bible and never progress toward a personal and intimate relationship with God. Would you intimately know a person by just reading his autobiography? Of course not. That's what the Bible is, an autobiography of God and his relationship with his people. Reading the Bible only shows you the knowledge of God. Remember: faith without works is dead.
Communicate with God. Could you communicate with a friend by just using thoughts? Talk to God about your burdons, concerns, what made you happy, and your daily living as though he was standing right next to you. Sooner or later you'll hear that small voice of God answering you.

Pray and praise without ceasing. Jesus,I will keep in perfect peace he whose mind is stayed on me. You need to restore yourself back close to God. God doesn't change,he doesn't leave you. Jesus says I will never forsake you or leave you. It is the human who ceases to pray, read their Bible,Love God in Jesus Name, keep company with other Christians, praise God for everything for this is the will of God for you,to praise Him. Sing unto God,you will establish closeness to God when you die to self and live unto God. Have a regular time of day to read/study the Bible, praise God,and to pray. To make time for God brings us closer to Him. As a man thinketh in his heart so is he. You choose, you move, you draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh unto you.

Go to Isaiah in the Old Testament. Read all of the scriptures that say, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God, surely I will help you, surely I will withold you with my Righteous Right hand. Start with Isaiah Chapter 40. Highlight all of the scriptures that speak to your heart.
Go to the Gospel of John where Jesus said, I am the bread of Life. and when He said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Dwell on the word, speak it out, repeat these scriptures and Call upon the name of the Lord, JESUS HELP ME is a prayer!!! Lord Have Mercy on me is a repentent prayer.
Pour your heart out to God and just tell Him you want to come back to Him and will He please bring you back?

Yes Peace! "Draw close to God & He will draw close to you." (Jas. 4:8) Get back into God's word (the Bible) on a regular daily basis & listen to what the Lord says to your heart (spirit). "Faith comes by hearing & hearing by the word of God." (Ro. 10:17) Find & regularly attend a healthy, well balanced, Bible believing church.

How bad do you want it?
Then that's how hard you should chase it and not let up. Confess your sins and forsake them and he'll be found of you again.
It's clear to me that a great many people are putting out the spirit's fire, or quenching the Spirit and then crying out why can't I hear God, why don't I feel him, turn off that nonsense TV program, put down that novel, pick up God's word and hide it in your heart all the live long day.
Why do people think they can entertain themselves with sin and God will agree to stay as he was. Galatians 6:7

A couple was driving through the country. From time to time she remarked about all the animals that were nuzzling each other and so on.
Eventualy she told him, "You used to put your arm around me when we were driving."
He said, "I haven't moved."
James 4:8, "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you."
Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."
