How do we please God - in 1 John 5:3, and 2 John 6 it talks about how to please God by loving others, obeying God, and keeping God commands (10 Commandments), Then in Hebrews 11:6 it says that without faith we cannot please God.
---Leslie on 5/18/09

When He causes whatever we are doing to prosper?

Also, if we do something wrong, he corrects us.
---amand6348 on 5/18/09

Before I was saved, when I prayed to God (hardly ever) He didn't listen to me because I was not one of children. I came to Him without faith. John said God doesn't hear sinners, but He listens to those who are repentful of their sins and ask Jesus to come into their heart and be their Savior. After I was born again by faith, all my prayers offered up to Him were by faith. All of His children come to Him by faith and are pleasing in His sight. Those who are not His children are displeasing to Him. This is because it takes faith to accept His Son Jesus as their Savior. Saved by grace through faith pleasing..Unsaved, displeasing..
---Bob on 2/22/09

I want to repeat a verse that others have given you as well.

Hebrews 11-6 but without faith it is impossible to please Him,for he that cometh to God must believe that He is,and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

The second part is as important as the first.
Spend time in the Bible (read whatever interests you) and spend time talking to Him. He knows you have a lot to learn (as do we all). Be absolutely honest with him about everything (He knows it all anyway). If the Bible doesn't seem to have an answer to your questions, ask God directly and wait for an answer, no matter how it comes or how long it takes. Anytime you are at a loss as to what to do....praise Him ( just tell Him how wonderful He is!)
---Donna66 on 2/20/09

A few times God said "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." When we accept Christ Jesus as our Savior and He imparts His righteousness to us, He presents us holy, blameless, and complete to His Father. That's how we please God.
---Bob on 2/19/09

God has His ways of letting you know and understand when you are not. The believer knows within them-selves, whether or not everything is okay between them and their God. All the believer must do is this>>>Pay attention. To the Spirit.
---catherine on 2/19/09

Hebrews 13:21 equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. Sounds like if the children of God walks and lives by the fruits of the Holy Spirit, they are doing God's will which pleases Him.
---Bob on 2/18/09

We please God by our actions and words. If we help somebody, we are pleasing God. Follow his ten commandments and you shall be pleasing God. I am sure there is more, but I have much to learn about my faith. So, there's a few things on how to please him :)

God Bless,
---Lisa5554 on 2/18/09

Steven g very good points on love. I sometimes think of things you say, and how the churches are so corrupted by their teachings. I wish it was not like that, but God permits this to go on for a reason. I have to believe God is in control and that things happen by permission, since God is sovereign and knows all I let Him worry about that since we can only control our behavior, and not what others are doing.
---MarkV. on 1/24/09

Then there is no love in you. And where there is no love, there is no Holy Spirit for the Holy Spirit does not abide in a body having a hard heart and a hateful mind. Christians are to love their enemies and pray for them. It isn't their fault they do what they do. They are being blinded by Satan. Jesus continued to love all those who tortured him because he knew that in the end, He would win. He forgave each and every one and Christians should follow his example. Read: 1John2:9-11, Heb12:15, 1John3:15

Let go of your hate, frances, and bring the Holy Spirit into your body.

I agree that faith pleases him but what I think is far most important is Obedience. God stated he honored his word more than him name and our obedience to him word and law is what makes us faithfull and pleases him.
---Deno on 1/22/09

faith is what pleases God.but there is plenty of scripture that tells us what also displeases him.look at the letters to the seven churches in revelation for one example.there are countless others.but by far faith is what opens us to justification thru jesus, and gives us access to the love and grace of God.
---tom2 on 1/22/09

The devil will lie to us, and then accuse us later of believing lies. Like getting soldiers to torture Muslims and then sending them to jail for it. The NWO wants us to dig our own graves while they are sitting back laughing at us. Then, when we face God we have to account for why we obeyed Satan instead of His Voice. God may know very well that He sent deceiving spirits through people like parapsychologists, but we still should have obeyed the Bible. God told Moses to kill all the Canaanites of certain towns because they were not human, but they were hybrids (nephilim) and giants. Woe betide us if we do not obey God's commands. He speaks through his prophets.

Steveng, I cannot soften my heart to the evil people who are destroying innocent babies in foreign lands and who plan to do away with human rights in America, by 'gradualism'. When the people wake up it will be too late the fences will have been put up around them while they went daily to eat the free corn. I hate what is going on. I won't stop fighting them for one moment. The illuminati can hide in their underground cities, but their cities will be their graves because they will be afraid to come out and face the wrath of the people, and in any case they can never escape God who can make an earthquake and have them die entrapped in their tunnels. You want people to enable the evil ones. Wake up before it is too late.

frances008: "Steveng, ...If you want to live in fairy land where there is no rich elite robbing the citizen blind, sending them to fight their oil wars, or drug wars, or whatever wars, that is up to you. Some of us see the truth."

I never said you were wrong. Some of your conspriacies may be right on, but Scripture says that Christians are not to get involved in the activites of man for their hearts are continually evil. You spend too much time pointing the figers at whomever is responsible, but not enough time on the real truth - the Bible. Instead of spreading your lies, rumors and conspiracy theories, you should be spreading the gospel - the good news. Soften your heart to understand what I'm telling you.

Continuing with so winning mission to Philippines.

"Those who are feeble minded started to talk coherently after receiving Christ.

Demonic interruptions(muslims and budhist) were silenced. Dogs stopped barking while we were praying

Most of all my Filipino guides and interpreters started leading people to the Lord.

My 16 year old nephew led a policeman to the Lord. To the continued.
---mima on 1/19/09

Third part of mission to Philippines.

"My future e-mail will not report anymore numbers since we cannot keep tract anymore since our scribes are busy witnessing themselves

Moreover, we want God to receive the glory.

We must decrease so He can increase in the lives of Filipinos

We have captured territories(not visited. Y any religious group) enslaved by the enemy and the results will continue to increase through the people we reached and trained.

Reports of this nature are coming in everyday now. Praise the Lord for what he's doing.

Steveng, the conspiracy is a fact. It is not my conspiracy, nor is it my theory. It is just the truth. If you want to live in fairy land where there is no rich elite robbing the citizen blind, sending them to fight their oil wars, or drug wars, or whatever wars, that is up to you. Some of us see the truth. Others try to prevent the truth from getting out.

God didm,t send his son too die on the cross.without having certainty of salvation through him.thre is so much scripture about this it really needs no defending.our only certainty is him.

The common/institutional teachings of Christianity are very partisan and exclusionary,...teaching that only a certain segment of society can have salvation available to them. What Jesus did was very powerful and made salvation AVAILABLE to every person...

Luke 3:6
"ALL flesh shall SEE the salvation of God".

...Not everyone will have the GUARANTEE of salvation (eternal life), only those who have a peaceful and just spirit/character with genuine humility and a true admiration for what is "good and right and true" (Ephesians 1:14, 5:8 and 9). "Children of light" have the "GUARANTEE".

(everyone can now have the HOPE of obtaining eternal life, but not everyone will have the guarantee).

Tom2:-You contradict yourself."I agree no one really knows who is and who isnt saved. but to blindly state no one is or may be sure is not correct".Here you presume by use of the word blindly. With much Forethought I gave you a verse to prove my point Matt7:21-23.You did not address this but veer of about the good thief (no bearing-different scenario)Hope is not a scriptual reference but a fact, as we cannot foretell the future, so we must hope.Your disagreement is your perogative. It is not my words that causes a stumbling Block to Young Believers but The presumption which you blindly put forward as Salvation.Sorry.

frances008: "Steveng, even first graders at primary school ought to know the difference between the Garden of Eden (on earth several thousand years ago) and the Kingdom of God (a future coming Kingdom that we go up in the air to ascend to)."

Gosh, frances, if you spend as much time reading the Bible as you do with researching your conspiracy theories and the spreading of lies and rumors, you would definately know the real truth regarding where the people go.

We could know that we are pleasing God by having a pure conscience. Yesterday I told my sister that I was going to vaccuum this morning. When I was praying to God in my room, I realized that I only wanted to vaccuum the living room, not the basement. I ended my prayer and vacuumed all of the rooms. I knew that my conscience was judging me and I had to please God in a little thing like this. We can please God by being pure in our thoughts and actions.

If we "draw near" to Him with a "faith for faith" (Romans 1:17, Hebrews 11:6), His spirit will then teach us the proper respect for humanity (nobody should be an 'icon' to us).

We can only please God by letting Him have a relationship with each of us (He "yearns jealously", James 4:5) and noticing that His son did "the works of God" (John 6:28 and 9:3).

Ephesians 2:15
"by abolishing in his flesh the law of commandments and ordinances...".

mic,iam not arguing, the apostles were certain, are you saying that there is no one alive today that has the faith, and follows jesus as they did?are you saying that everyone alive today only has hope and no certainty?iam sorry i disagree.I believe billy graham is saved, and there are millions more.the hope you speak of is a scriptural reference in believing and then in faith following jesus, but once that hope is realized and lived out through actions and bares fruit its a certainty you are saved.scripture tells us that nothing can break this seal applied by jesus.your opinion is a stumbling block for young believers and actually is wrong.jesus taught that we can be assured, not constantly wondering whether we are or aren,t.
---tom2 on 1/15/09

when jesus told the thief on the cross, today you will be with me in paradise, did the thief have hope?or was it a certainty?so when scripture says whosoever calls on the name of the lord will be saved you say its hope, but those words arent whosover calls on the name of the lord will have hope he is saved does it?
---tom2 on 1/15/09

mic,do you believe all the martyrs spoke of in revelation that died for faith in jesus, that in revelation speaks of them under the seat of christ who are told by jesus to wait a little until the number of their brothers are killed for their faith had no certainty, only hope? that the ones jesus spoke of who were yet alive only had hope?jesus came and died that we might be certain.I agree no one really knows who is and who isn,t saved, but too blindly state that no one is ,or no one may be sure is not correct.

Having the DESIRE to please The Lord is, unfortunately, uncommon. Many Christians simply "faith" Him (believe in His power), but having the true desire to do what pleases Him is an attitude of LOVE (our faith should be borne out of love).

We are to abide by (live the attitudes) of "faith, hope and love" (1 Corinthians 13:13), but the GREATEST of these is...

...........LOVE for Him.

We are not to have an "allegiance" (partisan "book" compliance) to God, but a LOVE for Him. If we are sincere in our love for our true heritage, He will teach us "the depths of God" (1 Corin. 2:10).

"Who so ever Calls upon the name of the lord shall be saved, to believe we cant be saved is making Jesus out to be a liar"Tom 2:- Strong words calling Jesus a liar to prove your point, besides Presuming the action of Jesus. But is it not true Jesus says Not everyone who says "Lord lord shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but He who does the will of my Father"Matt7:21-23.The Nomination of His Church was His Fathers will. Why else then did Jesus choose Peter. That is why we HOPE. OSAS is not of a certainty, and falls into the category of self deception this was the reason for my post. This is a statement of truth not an arguement.

You will know, if you belong to Him. There will be fellowshiping and peace with God, joy, the type that you can only get from Jesus. His presence. You can feel His presence. Sin separates all this from you. Sin, separates you from God.

Tom2:-How do you know of a CERTAINTY you are saved. Saving in its finality happens at the judgement seat of GOD.So it is possible your train of thought regards being saved could be defective or false or misleading or even preguessing Gods decision, especially being a christian and not in "HIS CHURCH", but in one of Man's making.I dont mean to start a storm in a tea cup or throw rocks at a bee hive. This is for reflection.Up to the judgement seat of God Man has HOPE, not certainty.

Obedience to His Word and His Will brings blessings.

When you go into His presence and worship Him in Spirit and Truth and He responds to you, then you know you are pleasing to Him.

Before Jesus, humanity did not have hope for eternal life. The heavenly Father would be pleased if each of us would take special notice of what His son accomplished from crucifixion to resurrection.

1) did the "works of God" (John 6:28 and 9:3) so that we could REST in HIM, not televangelists, etc.

2) became our sabbath (Luke 6:5).

3) made the "living water" available so the righteous can be baptized by the indwelling of His spirit (1 John 5:6, John 7:38, Acts 1:5, Rev. 7:16).

4) became the outer temple and made us the inner (John 2:19, 1 Corin. 3:16 and 6:19).

5) abolished the sin laws so that we could live under the law of liberty (Ephesians 2:15, James 1:25 and 2:12).

"How do we know we are pleasing God?"
Through the effectual operation of faith.
Being fully persuaded that what He has promised, He will perform.
This honors Him, gives Him glory, and is very pleasing to Him.
---josef on 1/10/09

its important to know what God's will is regarding any area of our lives, and then use our faith to begin the process of sowing that word of His will into our lives. so that the Holy Spirit can bring that word to pass in our lives.

what is the purpose of pleasing God and doing his will?

James said, "be a doer of the word and not a hearer only that you might be blessed in all your doing."

God proclaimed blessings to mankind from the very beginning because He loves us, so He doesnt want to see us without any good thing that He purposed for us to have and enjoy.
